The care that Ashlands Manor provided for my mum was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The facilities are second to none but more importantly the staff are extremely kind and caring to both residents and their families. My mum passed away at Ashlands, the way she was looked after during her final
days gave me and my family great comfort during an extremely sad time.

Reply from Octavia Ndlovu, Home Manager at Ashlands Manor Care Centre

Thank you for leaving such a beautiful review for Ashlands Manor, I will pass it to the whole team. It was an absolute pleasure to take care of your mum and meeting your family. Thank you again.

Bramhall Manor Care Centre

from L G (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 July 2025

My Mum was sent to Bramhall Manor through discharge to assess after a long stay in hospital. Mum has vascular dementia and finds it difficult to make and maintain short term memories. This meant that she was struggling to settle because she couldn't understand why she was there. This made things a
little bit challenging for the staff and carers and they were struggling to meet Mum's needs. One of the nurses and a couple of the carers registered complaints against Mum because of this which was quite upsetting.
Also, I have real concerns about risk and how risk is being assessed and managed at Bramhall Manor. Mum had a fall whilst she was here, hit her head and had to go to hospital to be checked over and have a rather nasty gash, which she got when she fell, at the back of her head stitched. I later found out from the paperwork that she had been left asleep in a chair unattended and without regularly being checked on. I would think twice about placing a relative in here

Reply from Rowena Bolton, Manager at Bramhall Manor Care Centre

Please accept my apologies that you felt Bramhall Manor didn't manage your Mum's fall well, and that you did not feel you could raise a concern at the time of the incident. I can advise that the home has acoustic monitoring at night. This monitors the room for any sound or movement and alerts staff that they need to attend to a resident. This means that we can sometimes prevent a fall occurring. Unfortunately, if we have not been able to prevent the fall, we know immediately and can attend quickly. I can confirm that the staff also go into rooms in line with resident's assessed needs during the night. I can also advise that the paperwork that goes with residents to hospital is a "hospital pack". This is a summary of the person's needs and the reason for their visit to the hospital. It is not all of the notes that were recorded during the shift. I would have been very happy to discuss this at time, if you would like to discuss this further then please do not hesitate to contact me

What a wonderful home. All the staff, whatever your needs, are there for you. Very professional and I want to thank them for the kindness they showed. This is more than a home. Every day activities going on, trips, you are never alone. The company of other people. They go above and beyond, and you won't
find another home (hotel). 5 stars plus. Exceeded my hope for the future. First class.

It's a very difficult process when looking for a care home for your loved ones. You consider the physical and emotional care that is needed, how they might develop connections with the team looking after them and the activities that are offered. Cheadle Manor and the team working there surpassed my
expectations. My Grandmother is very well cared for, each individual has taken the time to get to know her and nothing is too much trouble. Her room is lovely and the communal areas are very welcoming.

The staff were very attentive and helpful at most times. Unfortunately for my aunt, there were too many curry/spicy food meals which my aunt does not like, as indeed many older people do not, with only limited alternatives available.

Can't say enough about the nursing and care provided. My husband is so well looked after and cared for. The home is run very efficiently by all the staff, from domestics, wellbeing, carers and nursing staff. The reception is always manned in daytime hours, and security is well supported and maintained,
keeping residents safe!

Mum was only resident at Bridgewater Manor for a couple of months before she sadly passed away. In that short time the care she got was next to none. Everyone from caterers to wellbeing staff, reception, managers and the carers/nurses were friendly helpful & always cheerful. The care mum received when
end of life was fantastic. The carers dedication to excellent standards of care & knowledge. Each & every one were very kind & compassionate to the family, we were regularly updated & kept informed of decisions. They insisted mum stayed in her own room despite weekly nursing care at the end/ This meant the nurses came down to oversee her needs which meant mum & the family were with the carers we knew & they knew her too.

Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care Centre

Thank you so much for your kind words and review. I am so glad we could support mum in a caring, compassionate and dignified manner. The staff are very special, especially at end of life and work as a team to ensure residents receive the most appropriate care which ever floor. Thank you once again and really appreciate all the support from yourselves as a family.

I have had two longish periods of respite care this year at Egerton Manor, both of which were excellent in every way. I have felt cared for and consulted at all times by staff who are a skilled and forever cheerful bunch of colleagues. Egerton Manor is a very welcoming and supportive environment. No
one can really know exactly what is expected when they are looking for this kind of living support, whether it be temporary or permanent, but I have been very happy with my decision to choose Egerton and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

My wife was admitted to Ashlands Manor Care Centre in poor health physically and mentally. She had a fall recently & broke her pelvis/femur and had suffered severe mental trauma leading to dementia and an inability to walk. She had undergone a period of care at home which has proved to be impractical
due to her double incontinence and her aggressive behaviour towards carers. Since being at Ashlands her physical condition has improved considerably, although her mental condition has slowly worsened she eats heartily, has put on weight and is no longer aggressive towards carers.
