We cannot thank the management and staff enough for all the care shown to our daughter Michelle and would highly recommend this care home the rooms are spot on they really try to entertain the residents even taking them out as my daughter is a wheelchair user this is much appreciated also there is a
bit of an age range meaning not everyone is elderly
Reply from Fiona Tate, Manager at Hemsworth Park Care HomeThankyou so much for taking the time to complete this review. Positive reviews really do increase staff morale, making them feel that the support they provide is recognised.

My mum lived at Hemsworth Park Care Home for just over a year, and sadly I had to remove her for her own safety. During her time there she suffered nearly 30 falls, most of which were unwitnessed. She was also repeatedly developing UTIs, which I strongly believe were caused by a lack of regular personal
care and bathing. When she had these infections, she often wasn't able to feed herself properly, yet many carers did not assist her with meals. As a result, she became severely underweight and malnourished. Since moving to a new care home, the difference has been incredible. Although it's still early days, she has already gained over half a stone, has not had a single fall, and has had no UTIs, simply because she is now receiving regular showers, proper supervision, and help with eating when needed. I do want to acknowledge that there are a few genuinely caring and dedicated staff members at Hemsworth Park, but unfortunately they are very much in the minority.

Mum has been a resident for over 5 years. I cannot praise the staff and management enough for all the help and support they have given my mum and me. They go over and above. Mum is unable to see, so the daily things we all take for granted they help her do. Activity team involve her with whatever is
happening if she wants to join in, there is always someone checking on her to make she is comfortable or needs anything. I can now visit and come home feeling reassured that she is in the right place and with caring people. By the way mum asked to come here as she had received good reports from friends where she lived before coming here.
Reply from Fiona Tate, Manager at Hemsworth Park Care HomeThank you for the review, I will make sure this is passed on to the team!

My close neighbour moved into Hemsworth Park in July last year and still remains there. Her care is exceptional and the staff and management are excellent. My friend is looking very happy there and is treated dignity and respect at all times.
I would highly this home.
Reply from Fiona Tate, Manager at Hemsworth Park Care HomeThankyou for your lovely review. I will ensure this is passed on the staff team.

Staff are poor, not interested in doing the job. Everything seems like a chore when asked to do something. Residents left in need. Extremely poor experience. We were only with them 4 days before my grandfather was rushed back to hospital with severe safeguarding issues raised regarding this home! Would
not recommend. Extremely poor experience throughout it all.

My mum came into this home in September 2023. At first, she was unsettled and doing some very strange things, so she was moved nearer to the office where she could be watched, she has now settled down and seems to be very happy. She talks to everyone. A lot of the staff are lovely caring people and
they work hard. The only thing according to Mum is there doesn't seem to be much going on i.e. entertainment or social get-together. I think because mum doesn't hear very well or see very well she doesn't join in if there is anything going on. The only thing that is negative to me is there needs to be some sort of intercom system or visitors should be able to get a code to get in and out. It shouldn't be up to all the staff to drop what they are doing (taking care of residents) to keep coming and opening the main doors every time someone comes. However, my overall review is I'm grateful to each and every one of you in the care home for looking after and caring for my mum.

My father-in-law came to this home on end-of-life care, we knew he didn't have long left and the staff at this home made the time bearable for us all.
The care and compassion they showed towards my father-in-law was second to none and we can not thank them enough.
We were always kept updated on how
he was doing and they always went above and beyond.

My wife came into the home and was not very happy, but after about four to five weeks, she has changed completely and now looks forward to visits and is always happy and smiling.

Dad has been at the care home since May 2023. Although he has still not fully settled most of the time he seems happy. The staff are wonderful and he is looked after very well. There are weekly outings for shopping and the library and when the weather is good, a visit to the park down the road is made.
The varied menu for each meal is good although dad always chooses ice-cream for pudding. The room he is in although quite small is adequate for his needs with a wash basin, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. He is regularly showered and his clothing is always clean. I would recommend the home to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

I arrived at Hemsworth Park Care Home on the 26th of May. On my arrival, I noticed the immediate cab the staff gave to my mum. They were very efficient and caring. The management and staff introduced themselves immediately and explained everything. The manager had always kept me up to date when the
doctor or nurse has been to see my mum. I am very happy with the care of my mom is receiving at Hemsworth Park Care Home.

We, as a family, just want to thank every single member of staff at Hemsworth Park Care Home for everything they have done for my grandad over the last couple of months. The care and support he's received while being a resident at the home has been second to none, and anything he needed or wanted has
been delivered to such a high standard of care and nothing that my family or grandad asked for was ever any trouble. Each and every one of you does such an amazing job to treat every resident the way you do, and we will be forever grateful for everything you've done for him. Not only have we got him home, but he's also come back so much better than we could have ever hoped for, and it's all been down to the care he received. Thank you doesn't seem enough, but please know how grateful we are to you all.

As soon as I walked into this home I knew it was going to be perfect for my Dad. It's very clean, bright. The staff are all lovely and helpful, polite and informative and nothing is too much trouble. I know when I leave my dad he is in very safe hand. I can see what he's eaten and drank (which is plenty).
His room is very clean and he has a window that can be opened, a large television, wardrobe and drawers. I know my dad is going to be safe and happy here. It truly is a breathe if fresh air compared to some care homes.

This is a very clean care home with very friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum has a shower room opposite her room and a hairdresser goes in once a week to do the lady's hair. The meals are wonderful and there are plenty of drinks to be had.

My mam has settled in the home very well, Mam gets on well with all the care staff. They treat my mam with dignity and respect. When I fetch Mam home for the day to my house she is always ready to go back to the care home with a smile. If I have any concerns about my mam staff are always ready to help.

I cannot praise Hemsworth Park Care Home enough. All staff I have had contact with have been very professional and gone above and beyond their care of duty to my daughter. I feel it is not just a job to you people but a true vocation. I thank you, I am sure you will keep giving the same level of service
during these very hard times. I wish to thank you again.

The staff are doing a great job under the circumstances, it’s upsetting not being able to visit but through social media updates it’s been great to see the smiles on my grandma’s face from all the activities the staff have involved her and the rest of the residents in.
