We have been very happy and extremely satisfied with everything at The Old Vicarage. My mother moved into the home after a long stay in hospital. Upon being discharged from hospital care she couldn't walk and wasn't eating. After being in The Old Vicarage for 6 months she is now walking, eating better
and looked well. She is enjoying the food and activities and loves her room. The staff are all friendly and approachable and mum gets on with them all. Prior to being admitted to hospital mum always maintained that she wouldn't go into a home, she now says that she is really enjoying living at The Old Vicarage and the family are very happy too.
Reply from Dayna Crabtree, Administration at The Old VicarageThank you for sharing such positive feedback about your mum's time at The Old Vicarage. It is especially rewarding to hear how well she has progressed and that she feels happy with us. We truly appreciate your kind words and continued confidence in our care.

Since mum moved into The Old Vicarage, we have all been really impressed with the care and dignity the staff and home deliver. It is a real 'home from home'. The respect given, and the way individual needs are met. There's a wife range of activities and the environment is very pleasant. As family we
are kept well informed and always made to feel welcome.
Reply from Dayna Crabtree, Administration at The Old VicarageWe're delighted to hear that your mum feels at home and that you are happy with the care, dignity and communication provided. Your kind comments mean a great deal to our team, and I will be sure to share them.

My dad is very happy living in the close-care bungalow at The Old Vicarage. He is well cared for, but encouraged to be as independent as possible. The staff are lovely, very friendly and caring and from the moment he moved in they went out of their way to ensure that his individual needs and preferences
were met. This ensured that he settled well and quickly became part of the family. It is such a friendly and welcoming home and we can't imagine anywhere better for him to be looked after.
Reply from Dayna Crabtree, Administration at The Old VicarageThank you for your kind words. We're delighted your dad is happy and settled at The Old Vicarage, and we're grateful for your feedback.

We have found Whitefield House to be an excellent care home. We viewed several others before choosing one for my stepmother and can honestly say that it's the best one that we saw. The building has been renovated and extended with no expense spared.
The staff are excellent and it is obvious that they
all care about the residents, providing lots of activities and events.

A fabulous care home that my mother now loves. My mom is 102, she dreaded the thought of a care home believing it would be like an old work house. But Whitefield House is welcoming and clean. The food is great. There is always something for mum to do. Top class care home.
Reply from Dayna Crabtree, Administration at Whitefield HouseIt's wonderful to know your Mum is happy with us - especially after her initial worries. Thank you for taking your time to leave a great review!

We have found everyone at Whitefield House to be very attentive to both our Mother's and our wishes, and have facilitated all of our requirements. We know that our Mother is being cared for by people who care. We are reassured that she is safe, happy and involved with the care home activities and is
able to enjoy the company of the staff. Everything about Whitefield House has been excellent and we would be happy to suggest that anyone considering a care home for their loved one should consider Whitefield House.

We really could not be happier for my mother and for the quality of care and of the whole environment of Whitefield House. The staff are so friendly, patient and helpful - not just with the residents but also with my wife and I when we visit.
My mother arrived several months ago after a spell in hospital
after a fall, back then she had lost a lot of weight, could not walk and was incontinent. The staff brought her in, treated her with dignity and admitted her in a friendly, casual manner but taking care of all the details. The excellent care started there!
Within a couple of months she had put her weight back on, was 'mostly' continent (she was like that before!) and zipping around on her walking frame like a racing driver! The staff have even had to tell her off for getting up and heading off without one of them being there to escort her!
In short, beautiful grounds, beautiful house, fantastic care and communication with us.

My dad has lived at The Old Vicarage since October following Alzheimer's and a stroke. All staff helped him to settle immediately. This was the hardest decision I have ever had to make yet remains one of the best I have made. From the preparations to move dad in, to now, the communication and support
provided by the staff at The Old Vicarage has been second to none.
Dad is cared for, respected, and supported daily. His needs are met and I am informed of everything. There are regular activities that Dad is able to engage in, he thoroughly enjoyed his trip to the chip shop! He loves to look his best and there is a hairdresser who makes sure he has a regular trim. This is very important and is just one part of the ongoing care and commitment provided to him to ensure his well-being. I see that residents at The Old Vicarage are seen as valued members of the community, not just old people who need looking after. I highly recommend this setting. Thank you to all the staff.

Mum was at the Old Vicarage for circa 3 years and during that time the love and care provided by the staff was first rate.
Unfortunately Mum passed away this month and the love and care shown by the staff to both Mum and to us as a family could not be faulted.
Thank you to a particular member of staff
and her team for everything they did for Mum.

My mum has been a resident at Whitefield House for nearly one year.
My two brothers and I visit every week travelling over five hours.
We have been very impressed with the level of care offered. The staff are caring, professional and always supportive.
Her room is spotless and her clothes are washed
regularly - the staff do not know when we are visiting, but Mum is always dressed colour-coordinated and ready to be taken out.
There are daily activities designed to keep everyone active and mentally stimulated.
I would recommend Whitefield House unreservedly.
Reply from Mark Macdonald, Owner at Whitefield HouseThank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review, and I know that both other families looking to place their loved ones in addition to our staff will appreciate your feedback.

When my mother required 24-hour care after a bad fall and could not manage at home anymore we looked at Wentworth House as we had past experience. My mother-in-law lived there over 12 years ago for a period of 2.5 years and was very well looked after. It was nice to see some of the staff were still
working there and even remembered my mother-in-law. All areas of the house are clean and the decorating is welcoming and homely. There are plenty of activities for residents and all birthdays, including beautiful cakes, are celebrated. Public celebrations i.e. Christmas, Chinese New Year, etc. Staff participate in activities. Staff take residents who are able to outside activites. Staff are caring and encourage residents. Staff in all areas are helpful. It took our mother a while to settle, after living independently, but she will quite happily tell you this is now her home. We would recommend a visit to Whitefield House if you are looking for care for your relative, etc.

Whitefield House has been wonderful for my husband who has dementia. He has been in Whitefield House for almost 2 years and has been very happy there. All the staff and carers are brilliant and look after him well. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The house itself always looks so clean and tidy
and his bedroom is perfect whenever we visit. We cannot thank them enough - we are so grateful to them all.
