Right from the start, my mother felt comfortable and safe. All of the staff are very good and caring. This has given me peace of mind because my mother is in good hands.

My mother moved into Ashglade 6 weeks ago and has settled very well. She seems really happy. When I first viewed the home on behalf of my family, I was welcomed by the manager, the feeling was warm and all the residents looked extremely content. The manager explained the running of Ashglade to me and
I left feeling that this was the place for our mum.
All the carers, too many to mention individually and the entertainment lady are so good to all the residents. A very lucky find. By the way, food always smells divine.

When visiting have always found the staff very friendly and helpful and my friend has always had nothing but praise for all they do. Everyone seems to be very well cared for. There appears to be a lot of effort in bringing various activities and the visit from pets seems very popular. A big thank you
to everyone.

The staff at Ashglade are very caring and considerate. Ashglade has a very friendly, homely atmosphere. Our relative was very anxious about entering residential care, but she has settled in very well and is enjoying the support she is given.

My mother has been a resident at Ashglade for just over 3 months and has settled in well. Ashglade is very homely and welcoming, it is always spotlessly clean and has a lovely conservatory and garden.
Meals are freshly prepared daily and according to my mother, very tasty. All the staff are absolutely
lovely and very friendly and caring. They make a special effort to get to know each resident and cater to their individual needs. The activities coordinator arranges a variety of interesting and fun activities, My family and I have peace of mind that our mother is being cared for very well. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashglade to anyone considering a care home.

Ashglade seems a very well run family/homely care home. Staff, all levels, are cheery and helpful - excellent with the clients.

I am only a friend and have no knowledge of the food, charges etc. As an onlooker, the clients seem very settled.

My mum has now been a resident in Ashglade care home for 2 years. When she arrived. She had had a major stroke that affected her speech, understanding and language. The staff at Ashglade have come to know how to communicate effectively with mum. They always find time to talk to her even though they
may not get a correct response. The carers are always friendly, caring and supportive. The smells from the kitchen are always good, I'm a cookery teacher and my mum's room is always clean and tidy. The activity coordinator tries to include my mother in all activities.

I have visited my elderly work colleague 3/4 times over 2 years. We have always been greeted pleasantly by staff. We sit separately from other residents and are given tea and biscuits. Our friend showed me her room proudly. We chatted to other residents on arrival and departure. All staff have always
been incredibly respectful of our friend. She talks happily of the home which has just been refurbished downstairs with a lovely sun lounge and the garden is kept beautifully. The dining room is always clean and welcoming. They play Bingo and have quizzes.

Ashglade is a very caring small home. Staff provide a very welcoming and friendly environment where all residents needs are met. Food is freshly cooked on site by a resident chef as well as daily activities and outings organised.
There is a large garden for outside activities as well as a large air-conditioned
conservatory. Visitors are always welcomed.

We visited several homes for my brother - we didn't want too large a home as he is a private person. We were at ease with this home and made to feel welcome. Visiting is not restricted and my brother is always clean, tidy and well cared for. He is settled here and seems content, so we have no worries
about his welfare.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.250)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.250) out of 10 for Ashglade is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Ashglade is calculated as follows: ( (35 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashglade is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 12 registered maximum number of service users is 2.4, which has been reached with 3 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
