Since mum moved to the Meadows we have been so impressed with the care and kindness the staff show her on a daily basis and she is now settling into life there. The facilities are excellent and Mum loves the food thanks to the wonderful chef and catering team. There are activities and chaplain visits weekly and we are always welcome to visit Mum or take her out locally. We have found the communication with the Manager and administration team to be prompt and highly professional. I would highly recommend this beautiful home and caring staff to anyone considering a residential setting.
Thank you for this wonderful review of my team and our home. Your kind comments are much appreciated and the team will be delighted that we have been able to help Mum settle into her new life here with us. We would also like to thank you and your siblings for your dedication and continued support,...
My mother spent the last two and a half years at The Meadow. She was the type of person who never wanted to go into a home and was a fussy eater, she had been a chef. To my surprise, she became extremely happy, thereafter, a very short while and continued to be so until she recently died, at 98. I cannot praise the home too much. From the excellent management to all the caring staff. It relieved me of my worries because The Meadow provides such excellent care. I cannot thank all the staff enough.
Thank you for your kind words, which will mean a lot to my team. Your Mother was indeed a very spirited lady and it was a pleasure meeting her and being able to support her in later life, as we did. Your Mother knew how loved she was and we feel very privileged to have been able to support you and...
It has surprised me how quickly the staff got to know my father after moving in; a testament to treating him very much as an individual.
The Meadow has taken a careful but logical approach to the pandemic, a sensible balance that has proven very successful. I am looking forward to seeing the activities schedule start up again, once visits are reinstated.
The staff seem very cheery, gentle and patient. The management, in particular, is very organised and capable.
We feel blessed to have found this little pocket of calm for my father.
The last year has been testing for all of us and new admissions especially - all families had to put an enormous amount of trust in us, as visitations are still so restricted. However, as...
She has lived here for four and a half years.
During this very difficult year, the staff and management have done a wonderful job of keeping her safe, and she has emerged at 101-years-old, no worse for wear.
Thank you for all your kindness during this very stressful time.
Thank you for this lovely review. I will pass your comments onto my team – they will be very pleased.
Your mum is looking forward to her 102nd birthday this year, which is so amazing – she continues to do really well, and we have come through this last year together, with a better understanding...
The staff are always very kind and caring and have looked after her very well, especially during this very difficult year.
The Meadows appears to have staff who have worked there for a number of years and work well as a team. The staff are very welcoming when we visit
The Meadows has the advantage of being surrounded by a very nice garden, where we have been able to go with Mum for outdoor
visits. The staff have done all they can to facilitate family visits in a safe way, for which we have been very grateful.
When we were allowed inside, The Meadows was always kept very clean and had been decorated and refurbished recently.
Thank you for this wonderful review. I will pass on your words to my team. We will continue to give our best every day to ensure that Mum has a good quality of life and is able to do things she enjoys, whilst visitations are still so restricted. The last year has been a test for all of us, and we...
The stress of Covid times has been managed very well, and the residents kept safe. All the staff at the home are extremely helpful and work hard to maintain high standards of cleanliness and order.
The care home is in a very quiet, green location with space for parking. It is a restful and welcoming place to visit.
Many thanks for such positive feedback about our home and the team, and thanks for the taking time in completing this review. We feel much obliged in looking after your mother, who is a very spirited lady. Our team is very happy that we managed to support your mother in such a way that she feels...
A friend of ours, we are Power of Attorney for her, has been a resident of The Meadow since February 2014. In all the years, she has been looked after beautifully by the care team and auxiliary staff and has always been happy and contented. She is a very private and religious person, and although spending most days in her room by choice, she enjoys the Friday church services. Personally, we know her to be strong-willed, exacerbated since the early onset of dementia, however, the staff have handled her condition sensitively and most appropriately. As her immediate family and relatives live abroad, we very much appreciate the dedication of the management team, and everyone else at The Meadow, in making our task so much easier, no task or request is too much, always friendly and helpful.
Your friend is very lucky to have such caring, dedicated and loyal friends. Over the many years, you have been meticulous and kind in your approach to your friend's changing care needs and the way in which you have communicated with our team here, enabling us to provide the best care possible...
My husband went into the Meadow in June 2020 and in November 2020 for respite care and then became a permanent resident there in the New Year of 2021. When I visit him, he appears orientated and calm and looks well cared for. He enjoys the food and apparently asks for 'seconds', which in itself is a good recommendation. I think that when the summer comes, he will be very happy to walk in the garden or to sit in the conservatory. My observation of the staff is that they are extremely caring and helpful. They allow the resident to be themselves and act from that premise. I am very happy that he resides in The Meadow.
Thank you for your kind words, which we will pass on to our team. Everything worked out beautifully for your Husband, as you and he were able to get to know our team and our way of working, slowly, and steadily, enabling you to reach an informed decision. Your kind and loving support of your...
Since the Lockdown, all staff have continued to show an outstanding level of professionalism, positivity and dedication to the residents. Mum is relaxed and well cared for, and clearly feels safe. The staff have gone to great lengths to ensure visits can continue if at all possible. I am extremely grateful to all staff at The Meadow for looking after my mum so beautifully.
Thank you so much for this amazing feedback, which I will of course pass on to my team. You and your brother, as well as mum’s friends, have been very supportive, ever since mum came to live here. We were already really happy when mum decided that she wanted to live at our home, early into her stay...
Could not recommend The Meadow more highly. It is extremely well-run and managed with caring and affectionate staff who have often gone out of their way to ensure that my relative, who arrived with early Alzheimer’s, could continue living her life, going out into the community, as fully as possible. This included regularly arranging paying off her bills at local cafes so she could still continue to visit them after she was no longer able to manage her money. The Meadow have brought me such peace of mind and, during lockdown, they did their best to give relatives updates and facilitate contact via phone calls and online means with myself and my relative’s friends. Also, it’s setting in a green space and with it’s safe enclosed garden area, is a real asset for residents who cannot leave the premises. I am deeply grateful to the management team, the care team and auxiliary staff including in catering and maintenance, and to the administrative team - always friendly and helpful.
Thank you for taking the time in completing this review. You have been very supportive of your relative over the years and it has been a pleasure working with you and providing a happy new safe home for your relative.
I only needed to visit The Meadow once to know that it was absolutely the right place for my sister. The staff were kind and friendly and have since proven to be extremely efficient in carrying out their duties. I am very happy that my sister was able to get a place in this lovely care home.
My mother has Alzheimer’s and has been a resident at The Meadow for two years. It is well-organised and friendly. Most staff have worked there a long time and it appears to be a family atmosphere where staff work well together. The home is bright, tidy, clean and well-maintained with a lovely garden and set in a pleasant green, calm estate. There is a decent level of activities although sadly, but necessarily, these have reduced due to Covid’s visitor restrictions. Personal care is good; my mother is clean and groomed, the food is of a good standard, and her medical needs are met (the home has a close relationship with the GPs). MHA’s general reaction to the Covid situation has been admirable. They were pro-active in sorting out PPE and in-house testing, and continue to be committed and rigorous in their response to an extremely challenging time. This has further assured me that my mother is in a caring and responsible environment. Any concerns I do have are addressed promptly.
Thanks for taking the time in doing this review and your kind words, I will pass the feedback onto the team. I also would like to thank you for all your time and dedication in ensuring Mum's continued health and wellbeing.
They always have worked tirelessly to look after my mother, with sensitivity, care; compassion and always with a smile, but during these past months, during the Coronavirus, they have gone above and beyond.
It has been a worrying time for us all, but knowing Mum was in their caring hands; when I could not visit her personally, was a godsend to be honest.
I am so very grateful to the whole team working at The Meadow for the brilliant work they do for their residents, and managing to arrange for family members to visit in a safe way, as soon as they were allowed, was wonderful.
Thank you to all at The Meadow, my mum could not be in better, safer or more caring hands.
Thank you for your time in doing this feedback. It’s always very encouraging for all of us to read such positive feedback which really empowers us to go forward even stronger and confident and we are much obliged to look after your mother who is a wonderful and spirited lady.
The location is great and the gardens are a quiet sanctuary to sit in. The staff are professional and caring and do a great of job looking after the needs of the people in their care. The environment is relaxed, clean and homely. Various activities are laid on which those more able can participate in, such as musical sing-along sessions for enjoyment and upliftment.
Thanks a lot for writing this review. It’s always good to have feedback from relatives like yourselves who are very dedicated to your loved ones. You always empowered us in providing great care to your relative. I really appreciate all your understanding, especially during recent times as we all...
The Meadow is an excellent care home with extremely compassionate and highly competent staff who treat residents with dignity and respect. It is very well-led. The home is extremely well maintained and scrupulously clean. It has great facilities, including a really wonderful garden. Together with other family members and friends we have visited regularly over the past 18 months and have, without exception, found the Meadow to be a remarkably happy place with a real feeling of safety. The response to Covid-19 has been impressive and highly effective. We could not be more happy with the care that our mother is receiving (which is extensive given complex needs). Moreover, we could not imagine our mother feeling more safe or content in any other setting (and we make this comment after keeping Mum in her own home with live-in carers for as long as we could and then in another care home prior to her moving to the Meadow). We are very grateful and would highly recommend The Meadow.
Thank you for your wonderful comments about Mum’s care here and our team, it is much appreciated. We wanted to thank you for your support and kindness ever since your Mum moved into our home. Mum knows that she is loved and well supported and always appears contented. Your frequent visits always...
We have been especially impressed by the quality of the care my sister receives. At the end of the first 2 months, we met with the Deputy Manager for the first review. This was very thorough and covered all aspects of my sister's life in the home; it was sensitively delivered by the Deputy Manager, who gave us 3+ hours of her time, explaining everything clearly and sensitively. We have now received the second review which, again, is thorough and clear. In addition to these formal reports, we always find all the staff informative and supportive when we have any worries.
All in all, we are very confident that The Meadow is the best place for my sister to be.
Many thanks for your time in completing this review. I am absolutely amazed with my team how they operated during my absence especially my deputy, who is an exemplary of good care. I will pass your feedback on to our team and we all hope we will be able to maintain high standards of care...
Mum moved into The Meadow six months ago and for the first time in the past couple of years, I feel that with the increasingly rapid progression of her Mixed Dementia with Alzheimer's, she is safe, stimulated, and cared for. The Meadow is really beautifully decorated and very clean and has a lovely garden. The staff are superb and at any given time when I call, whoever I speak to seems to have up to the minute information on Mum and can tell me what I need to know. The three-month review was a revelation in that it was apparent that the team really do get my Mum. Lockdown has been hard for everyone but The Meadow has managed Covid 19 very effectively to protect the residents, staff and also families. We can now visit outdoors again which has been lovely both in terms of seeing Mum but also seeing the smiling faces of the staff who offer very practical advice and support when needed.
Thank you for your kind words about our home and my team - I will pass them on and it will bring a lot of happiness to everyone. We have always felt very supported by you and all your family members we are in regular contact with, and Mum very much knows that she is loved and well cared for here....
Came to see my mother-in-law today. The standard of care is excellent as always, as has been the response to COVID, and is delivered with a high degree of humanity and warmth, and, as a son-in-law and an NHS consultant physician, I couldn't recommend The Meadow more.
Thank you for your kind words. You have always been very supportive of your mother-in-law and our team, and she really enjoys your visits. Families as your own make our workplace richer and more vibrant, and your mother-in-law knows that she is loved and well cared for. I will pass your comments...
My Mum has advanced dementia and has lived at The Meadow for the last 14 months. I feel quite emotional describing the care mum has received since her arrival, it is really exceptional and especially through the challenges of the last 4 months. Mum settled in so well from the beginning and has been comfortable and content throughout her time here. Carers are expert and genuinely compassionate, this is a home where staff are always busy, if not attending to residents needs, they are sitting with them, providing company. Management is excellent, any concerns are dealt with immediately and communication is very good, including coordinating care and health issues with GPs and third party providers. I am so relieved that our mum is being cared for so well, in such a great setting at this stage in her life and endlessly grateful to all the staff who work so hard to make this happen.
Thank you so much for your compliments about our home. Our team will feel very encouraged and appreciated by such positive feedback, and it is very much appreciated and means a lot. Mum continues to do well, and she appears very happy here. We are so glad that you were able to visit again and enjoy...
I am very impressed with the way The Meadow has handled the Covid Crisis. Great care has been taken to ensure the safety of the residents and when it became possible for friends to visit, proper arrangements were made. It is very good that relatives and friends receive regular updates. The staff are very attentive and caring. The building is well maintained and always very clean. My friends who are residents enjoy the food and always praise the staff.
Thank you for your time in writing this review and your kind words, I will definitely pass this on to my team. Thanks for being a very supportive relative during this pandemic; it is totally impossible if we do not have relatives as yourself so understanding and willing to work with us. We are really grateful for all the support you have shown.
