The Meadow Reviews (160)
The Meadow has a Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10, based on 18 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time The Meadow has 160 reviews.
My mother has been a resident at The Meadows for nearly three years and has received overall excellent care. There has been a decline in her condition (PSP) and the staff at The Meadows are dealing with this well with a body hoist and softened food and feeding. She was encouraged to move to a nursing home but this has still not happened (NHS funding mishaps) but she wants to stay where she is and is able to be cared for here. My only gripe is with missing laundry and poor lack of detail in my mothers clothing choices, and lost post , all of which seem careless and annoying.
Dear Suzanne
Thank you for taking the time to complete the review of your experience of the services provided at the Meadow. It is great to know how much you value the services provided to your mother and how much you recommend the home.
Please do drop in and discuss with the manager if you...
My grandfather sees very comfortable and pleasant with his new surroundings.
Dear Sam
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review of the services provided to your grandfather at the Meadow, I will relay your sentiments to the team there. Your saying you would highly recommend the service to the others is so rewarding to the team and I am sure will provide great comfort to others when looking for a care home for their loved ones.
Kind Regards
Deborah
My sister has been a resident about three years. Despite her short memory loss she has remained reasonably happy. She is always clean and well dressed and room attractive. Inevitably she has favourites among the staff, but they all seem to know her and care about her. I am always well received and my concerns are met. Thank you all a credit to Methodism.
Dear George
Thank you for such a wonderful and open review of the Meadow. When people are trying to find a care home for their loved ones, reviews such as yours give them so much hope.
I will pass on your views to the team and thank you once again.
Regards
Deborah
I have been a volunteer at the Meadow since July 2014. I have noticed how the staff always treat the residents with great dignity and respect. I have assisted the activities manager, by running a chair aerobics class. I am very impressed by the variety of activities on offer and the way the activities manager relates in a very caring way with the residents. I have accompanied residents on a number of outings, which have been very much enjoyed.
Dear Gill
Thank you for both your wonderful review of the services provided at the Meadow and for your own personal contribution as a volunteer. Our volunteers are so appreciated for all that they do and we consider you very much part of the Meadow team.
Regards
Deborah
I visit my mother regularly and am always welcomed by all carers. Carers treat all residents with kindness, care and compassion and engage in regular conversation and contact with all residents and visitors. When carers change shifts they say 'hello' to each resident in turn, it appears as one 'family unit', meal times are all inclusive, grace is often said. Atmosphere is always calm and a real home from home. I feel reassured that my mother is in such a caring environment.
Dear Charlotte
Thank you so much for your kind words of recognition for the care and support provided at the Meadow. I agree that it is becoming a home away from home, especially with the strong team working and the dignity and respect they give to all.
Regards
Deborah
Very friendly staff and they really give excellent personal attention to each patient. I feel very reassured after seeing the interaction.

Whenever we visit our neighbours, we are always impressed with the homely atmosphere at the home and the staff who are always so helpful and friendly.
Dear Phil
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and review of the services provided at The Meadow. These reviews are important to us as we need to know how others find our services and we always strive to make continuous improvements. That said, the review is only slightly short of...
All the staff are very kind and friendly. I feel my mother is being taken care of in an understanding environment. The rooms are quite small, but adequate. It's nice that is is quiet and peaceful - no one shouting, as I have heard in other homes I have visited. But there can at times be too little going on, as there is only one activities organiser and he obviously can't work 24/7 or be on both floors at once.
Dear Maggy
Thank you for completing this review and giving such appreciation of the staff team at the Meadow. I agree not one activity organiser is able to be in two places at once and Paul is including care workers in the activities for the home now, whether they be one to one or group...
Love coming here to see our grandpa as all the staff are really caring and kind, the facilities are good along with the cleanliness of the rooms. The only noticeable fault our downer would be the food, my grandpa has told us it could be better and that he's been served food he doesn't like.
Dear Juliette
Thank you for kindly giving us this review. It is so good to hear such positive and warm comments about your visits and the service delivered at the Meadow. I will ask the team to ensure they conduct some one to ones regarding the food as I know they obtain feedback in group...
Very good. 8.5/10.
Dear Adam

- Open, easily accessible staff.
- Food - maybe not up to scratch.
- Nice facilities.
- Quick if in need of help.
Dear Lydia
Thank you so much for your review of the services provided at the Meadow, I am so pleased you are happy with the service overall. Please do drop in to speak to the manager regarding any food preferences that should be considered though as we are always open to change and more than happy to change the menu choices.

Deborah
My mother moved into The Meadows 3 weeks ago. The team of carers has been very good, patient and encouraging her to join in with activities, ensuring that she eats and participates to keep herself clean and tidy. The care home has been welcoming and has a lovely garden to go into as well as music and activities. It has been great.
Dear Janis
Thank you for your wonderful feedback and review of the services provided to your mother at The Meadow. I will feed this back to the team and am sure that they will appreciate the wonderful recognition you have given them.
Kind Regards
Deborah
I think the home is great, my Grandad is comfortable and is improving every time I come to visit, so I'm happy with the service and support here.
Dear Jack
Thank you for your expressing your views regarding the service provided to your grandad. I am so pleased that you are able to see a continued improvement in him from the care and support that the team give.
Kind Regards
Deborah
My mother moved in to The Meadow three months ago from sheltered housing. The move was quite traumatic for her as she has Alzheimer's and she has had several health problems since the move. The staff at The Meadows have proved themselves to be accommodating, kind and attentive. They have involved a dietician, speech therapist and district nurse to improve her wellbeing. The kitchen staff are wonderful and really go the extra mile to provide food my mother will eat. There are activities for those who want to participate but without any pressure for those who don't.
Dear Vanessa
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and recognition of the great care and support delivered at the Meadow. When people look for care homes it is so important to know not only that someone feels the care is great but in what ways.
I will pass on your sentiments to the team.

Deborah Langton
The care home I visit (and have been visiting for over 20 years - 12 years as a volunteer) has been undergoing a difficult time for the past few months. This has been due to the loss of 3 senior management staff who had created an excellent atmosphere and ethos over several years. They knew both staff and residents well - something that takes time to develop. Having said that, the present deputy manager has been highly praised for the way in which she deals with new residents. And the activities co-ordinator does his best to involve as many residents as possible, encouraging some of those from the dementia unit to join the rest upstairs.
Thank you Zena
I know it is difficult when you have a management team change. However, we have such an overwhelmingly positive response to the new management team, some views of which you share and I thank you for taking the time to express this.
I will relay your kind words to the team including the Activity coordinator.
Regards
Deborah Langton
My mother is very happy in The Meadow. The staff take very good care of her and provide a happy and safe environment. I think this allows her to flourish and enjoy her life even though she is suffering from dementia.
Dear Hugh
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, it is really appreciated how much you value and support the home.
Kind Regards
Deborah
My aunt (more like a second mother) has been living at The Meadow since November 2014. Since the beginning she has been very well cared for. She has a lovely room, kept very clean and tidy. The staff are all caring and friendly, and the management has been of great support to me when dealing with initial financial problems. My aunt is very deaf and unwilling to socialise with the other residents and the home have been prepared to let her live as she wishes and not require her to join in. In my opinion this is a fantastic place and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Dear Denise
Thank you for completing this review and giving such wonderful feedback on the service provision. I am glad that you are happy with the care for your aunt and will share your comments with the team.
I am glad you find the service provision excellent though we are always open to ideas of improvement and welcome any you may have.
Kind Regards

Plenty of opportunities to visit. Good parking facilities. Overall cleanliness very good. Cooking smells before and after meals kept to a minimum. Also hardly any smells sometimes associated with geriatric care.
Dear Jean
Thank you for taking the time to review the service delivered to your friend at The Meadow. The staff team do strive to provide a homely clean environment. We are always looking for ways of improving from the Good rated service we are to Outstanding though, so if you ever think of...
Having looked at many care homes for my mother, The Meadow stood out from the rest. We have recently been impressed with changes due to new management which have enhanced the service still further. I am always greeted by all staff and given full attention. Any requests or concerns are addressed immediately and appropriately. When I leave after a visit I know that she is in a safe, stimulating and secure environment.
Dear Carol
Thank you for taking the time to send in a review of the services provided at The Meadow, we do appreciate all feedback given. I will take great delight in sharing these comments with the team there as they do work hard and will be grateful of your thoughtful recognition.
Kind regards
