They have found ways to manage her challenging behaviour and she seems contented and well cared for.
The building is light and spacious with a large lounge which my mother enjoys sitting in with other residents. The rooms are spacious and bright too. There are small dining rooms in each bay which enable residents to get to know each other a bit better over mealtimes.
Visitors are always made welcome.
There are lots of activities for those able to participate in them but also recognise that some residents may not be able or wish to do so.
I am very impressed.
Thank you for your positive feedback. I am delighted that you feel your Mother is extremely well cared for. I will share your feedback with the care team.
Excellent care for my mum - loads of activities and company for mum. She is happy here.
While visiting our mother who has been in The Paddock and The Meadow for approximately 10 years. We were given a very thorough review of her condition by her primary caregiver. She is in remarkably good physical health for her advanced age and the staff is attuned to all her particular needs.
From the first viewing, this home stood out. During the moving-in process and settling in trial it has been smooth and made easy by the professional, caring and kindly staff. Activities on offer have encouraged a somewhat reluctant resident to join in - even on the periphery. This has been of benefit to the resident and a relief to the family. Thank you for your kindness.
We have been so impressed with the time, care and support all of the team at the Meadow have given to Dad as he has transitioned to live full-time as a resident of The Meadow. The team have taken the time to get to know Dad, his needs and with all of this information, helped him to settle well into life at The Meadow. The team are always open to answering any questions (either in person or over the phone) we have and to make us feel welcome and involved.
Alongside this, the location, services, outdoor space at The Meadow are of a really high quality.
Isabel was a great help. She responded very effectively and was very kind to give updates on our friend's health status.
Both staff and residents have provided a very comfortable and supportive surroundings with rest and activities well balanced. The in-house hygiene and personal care facilities are very good.
She is the longest resident - 8 years to date.
For me and my two sisters, the most important aspects of The Meadow are the genuinely caring staff.
We are very happy with all aspects.
They have encouraged her to become involved in activities and have treated her in a warm and friendly manner.
The management have been very helpful and pro-active.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. I will make sure to pass on your comments to our team here at The Meadow who will feel all the more supported and appreciated.
My mother-in-law has Alzheimers and we feel very lucky to have found The Meadow for her care. Every staff member is kind, friendly and the management are empathetic and very capable. I cannot fault this care home.
The staff are absolutely wonderful, patient, kind and welcoming. The management team could not have made this emotional upheaval any easier. Professional, caring and always wanting to help, I honestly cannot praise the home enough.
My mum is so well looked after.
She was the main carer for our mother when she suffered from the same disease, so she has been aware of the full consequences for herself and has no delusions about it.
She wants it to end as soon as possible.
The Meadow has been good for her.
The extreme anxiety and distress she has felt in the past has been largely eradicated by the care received there. She remains confused which she often finds frustrating, but as this is a fundamental condition of the disease it cannot be prevented.
Most importantly she feels safe and secure there.
The staff are great, very patient, supportive and helpful.
This is a job often involving incontinence problems, often several times a day.
This is not a care career involving the possibility of expanding hope and horizons as with the beginning of Life but rather of a deteriorating situation towards its end.
The staff deal with this with patience and fortitude.
Visiting can be surprisingly a very positive experience, not always the case with other care homes.
The large organised social events there are particularly successful and fun to go to.
The premises are kept very clean. The maintenance staff are efficient and responsive.
The gardens are well kept and very pleasant to wander in and use.
The home really does feel and look like a home from home. The carers and other staff are kind and pleasant, even in stressful situations. I was particularly impressed with the personal care and attention, both my parents receive and I feel they are being well looked after.
I am so pleased to hear your feedback covering all aspects of our service. Your comments are much appreciated and will be fed back to the staff team and the management team. Thank you again.
The Meadow itself is a beautiful spot you would think you were actually out of London as you enter from Meadow Drive. When you enter The Meadow residential unit it feels homely, relaxing, like a small welcoming hotel and it has a lovely garden where everyone has access. The staff are like family caring and helpful. I feel so very lucky that my father was offered it as his home. They care so much for people with dementia. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experiences of The Meadow.

I have always found my friend in a very clean and tidy condition. The staff have always been so helpful and kind. Very pleased with his treatment.
As I live abroad, this was my first visit. I am not able to give an in-depth review, but my mother seemed very comfortable and well cared for.
My visits to the home have been very satisfying to see my father being taken care of. The staff seem to cope very well with the residents.
Mum moved in two months ago and has settled well. The home has a happy feel and staff appear to be very professional and caring. The assistant manager is lovely. The family have been impressed with The Meadow and are confident that we found the best place to suit Mum's needs.
There is a calm and peaceful atmosphere at The Meadow and the staff are warm and caring. It's perhaps at times a little too quiet and more stimulation and physical activity would be helpful for some residents. However, it is good that it feels like 'home', rather than an institution, and too much corralling into activities would detract from the homely atmosphere.
As my mother was a resident until her death in 2015, I was pleasantly surprised at the change I now see when visiting a friend who is a new resident. The staff were always very caring but the atmosphere now is very homely, happy and calm - even more than before. The level of care is excellent with residents able to make their rooms like a home from home. The activities now on offer are excellent with a very wide range of opportunities for residents to take part in activities that they enjoy.
