Carrington House

I can't fault the care my 92-year mum is receiving. All the carers and managers I've met so far are extremely caring with my mum. The staff are also on cue with Mum's medical needs. Mum was depressed when she became a resident at the care home but the lovely staff have managed to engage her in so many activities that she had given up on. I'm happy that Mum is happy and I think Mum has made friends too.

My mother has only been a resident at the care home for 6 months, so difficult to give a full assessment however during this period the care and support we have received to date has been excellent due to the COVID pandemic and not being able to enter the home, in general, it is difficult to give an accurate review for e.g cleanliness.

I found that Carrington House was most helpful with Dad. He's been so happy there and every day there are activities going on. I think they are excellent. Dad is treated with dignity and kindness and each day they are trying to improve in all areas. In fact I wouldn't mind being in there at the moment with this lockdown. They seem to do a lot throughout the day.

Carrington House is an excellent care home and myself and my sister feel our father is being very well cared for and it is a huge improvement on his previous care home. We feel that the standards are high and that the management and staff really do care about the wellbeing of the residents.

The staff have been outstanding in all aspects - very hard working and compassionate. Despite restrictions due to Covid-19 the staff have communicated well with the family and provided lots of activities. My mother is happy and her mental health has improved due to the high quality of care.

Covid has made placing Mum into care very difficult, however staff at Carrington House have been absolutely amazing in ensuring Mum is happy, safe and well looked after. The family are encouraged to contact as much as possible and are always accommodated. Cannot thank Carrington House enough.

My mother went to Carrington House following a hospital admission for respite care. She was made to feel welcome and cared for. Visits were limited and restricted due to Covid so unable to answer several questions below.

I am so pleased with the home, care and attention my mum receives. The food and the cleanliness is excellent. The staff and management are all wonderful. I could not wish my mum to be anywhere else. Everyone at Carrington House are all excellent! Well done.

The home is extremely well run, which is always down to good management. There is always plenty of good home-cooked meals as I have seen for myself. Cannot fault this home.

Really understanding staff, always trying to do their best to look after the residents. I have complete confidence that my mum is being really cared for and this makes it so much easier for me to accept her being in a care home. The move was, and still is, difficult for me to fully accept, but the staff have shown me so much understanding too and this has been a great help.

Activities on a daily basis are good and varied. Food and drinks are plentiful and all visitors are made to feel welcome. My husband is responding well to this caring environment.

My husband has been in Carrington House for seven months. I have always found the staff very professional and friendly and my husband likes them. The management are very approachable and friendly.

I go in every other day. Every time we go, everything is clean and tidy. Everyone in there is always clean. They give food every two hours. I am well satisfied that my sister has everything she needs and more.

Though not the most attractive of care homes I have seen, the dedication and quality of care given by the staff is truly remarkable and unsurpassed by any other similar establishment I have visited. All, without exception, care deeply for the residents and do their best to make them happy.

My time at Carrington has opened my eyes about life from the carers to the residents to the admin staff they do a marvellous, rewarding, caring service. Lastly, all the staff at Carrington are naturally good, honest people. I will miss them so much and I will keep in touch with everyone at Carrington. All the staff here are amazing, they go about their duties like a well-oiled machine. They are all in sync. Being not an easy career they do their duties with gusto, nothing phases the whatever the task given them. In my opinion, they love their duties with pure heart on their sleeves. I have gone through a rough patch but how they handled me, they put more than a smile on my face. They are my angels and all the resident's angels. By the way, they handle difficult situations is unbelievable. The food here is very, very good, well carried, cooked to perfection and I should know as I was in the kitchen with my father from the age of eight. Considering there is an average sixty residence that need feeding that, on its own, is no mean feat. On hygiene, ten out of ten throughout the building. Management there is the key to the smooth running of this care home.

My mother is so happy in this care home. All her needs are met by many of the caring friendly staff. There is always someone to talk too. This makes us happy to see that she is happy. She always recommends the home to everyone she meets.

Under staffed, no activities for residents, no stimulation for residents, soiled furniture in communal areas.
