My mum has been a resident at Pinehurst Care Center for nearly two years and we are very happy with the home. Despite the staffing challenges for the care industry Pinehurst has maintained a fantastic team of people with long service, who know the resident's habits and needs enabling them to provide the best of care. There is always an activity going on and they provide excellent updates for family and friends via a private social media site. As my mum's needs have changed their care has moved with her, always ensuring she is treated correctly in a kind, caring and professional way.

My mother was a resident for nearly four years, the compassion and guidance during her one year end of life situation was of great help and comfort to me. Therefore, when in a similar situation with my beloved husband, there was only one choice for me. Pinehurst Care Centre is so well managed, the carers are passionate about the people in their care, giving superb care and support and treating people with dignity. They take pride in their work and there is a happy atmosphere. During my husband's three weeks in hospital he did not receive a body wash, at Pinehurst he is cleaned after every 'motion' and body washed at least once daily.

He is very happy and the staff do a wonderful job in caring for him. I can't rate this care home enough, they have helped by making his life a happy one.

My mother went to Pinehurst Care Centre almost two years ago. The Care home is well run and the staff really care about the elderly residents. Sadly she died this week and the Management team kept me fully informed of her progress until her last days. They were thoughtful and caring. Mum loved being there. She loved the music and the songs she sang with the Carer’s. The Carer’s always stopped for a chat and a song with Mum. Every time I saw her she told me that she was very happy. I can truly say that I am so pleased that she spent her last years in comfort and contentment. Thank you to all the staff at Pinehurst.
I am so happy staying in Pinehurst and I will highly recommend Pinehurst.

Without a doubt a happy environment.
My father was not happy when we first put him in a home due to dementia and was quite aggressive towards the staff, however, after a very short time, he settled in and is very happy. He even said he loves it there and looks so well compared to when living independently and is no longer lonely....

I know that Mum is safe living in Pinehurst, which was always a major worry when she was living alone.
Thanks to the incredible sensitivity and encouragement of all staff she greatly benefited from the social environment.

Nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was warm and homely. Perfect.
Pinehurst is the most kind, supportive and caring anyone could wish for. In addition to taking care our aunt, they also support family members through what can be difficult and stressful times for resident loved-ones. We cannot recommend Pinehurst highly enough.

Their kindness and thoughtfulness have been outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. They have quickly understood Mum's specific needs and go out of their way to offer her reassurance and a comforting hug.
They have also provided much-needed emotional support and practical advice to us, her family, so that we are better able to help Mum settle in.
Our sincere thanks go to the entire team.
My husband found it difficult when admitted, but now agrees he is in the best place for him. The staff had their work cut out over quite a few months, but due to their hard work, we can now visit without it ending in tears. The staff are lovely, so friendly with a constant smile on their faces.

My 88 year old mother has been a resident for nearly 18 months, after being unable to look after herself satisfactorily and was moved in during Covid restrictions. Pinehurst Care Centre were extremely accommodating and helped her settle in, putting a TV up on the wall along with pictures and a custom built bookshelf to make it more homely. They also provided medical care, regular assistance with bathing and a gluten free diet plan for her - all of which she was struggling to do for herself. Mum can be quite stubborn, but the manager has worked her magic and got her participating in some of the great range of activities that take place. She particularly enjoys the art club and going outside in the garden. The manager and the team are wonderful and clearly experienced not only in the care of the residents but also in that of the family. We have been so pleased with our choice of care home and have no hesitation in recommending Pinehurst as a small and personable care home.

My husband recently spent three weeks in respite care at Pinehurst Care Centre. He was provided with a clean, comfortable, well-equipped room, and the food was plentiful and enjoyable. I was pleased to see that medication was carefully administered and recorded. All staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was obvious to me that Pinehurst is very efficiently managed. Knowing that my husband would be happy to spend more time there in the future is very reassuring to me and to the rest of our family.

Although naturally frailer than she was when she arrived. She has benefited from the security that being at Pinehurst offers, from the company of others and the liveliness of the activities team who enhance the lives of the residents who are encouraged to take part in crafts and music sessions. There are regular opportunities to visit local schools to watch their plays and, in turn, school children will visit Pinehurst, as do tame animals. So much is done to simulate and brighten the lives of the residents. Everyone is treated with respect and there is a family atmosphere about the place. Everyone is invited to take part but no one is forced into anything and if a resident prefers to sit quietly in the lounge or their own room, they can. During the time they are there, as the manageress says, it is understood by everyone that Pinehurst is their home. Visitors are welcome and the staff are always polite and helpful.

My mother came to Pinehurst Care Centre almost ten years ago and regarded it as her home and the staff as her second family. She was treated with kindness and care. The varied activities offered gave her much enjoyment. She made full use of the freedom to decorate her room as she wished. Pinehurst Care Centre could not have been more helpful in gratifying her wish to die at “her home in Pinehurst”, providing a room with easy access for care and family, after facilitating her discharge from hospital. Covid shut-down was difficult but we appreciated the safe environment and the way staff managed to maintain contact, at the expense of even more effort, between family and residents. Though not technically a nursing home we have been impressed by the way staff have recognised, because of their knowledge of the resident, when prompt medical assistance was required. The staff, without exception, are to be commended for their dedication in caring for my mother cheerfully with humour. We thank them for this.

I have always found the care team to be very kind and understanding towards all the residents, sometimes in very difficult and challenging situations. They go far beyond what could normally be expected to make residents' lives as enjoyable as possible, giving up their own time and working for a pittance of a wage! Very dedicated staff.

As the Home Manager of Pinehurst Care Centre, I have over 30 years’ management experience within Adult Social Care, both with the public and private sector. I am proud to be leading a team of highly engaged, passionate people who, like me, want the people we support to live their best lives in their later years. My passion is dementia care, having cared for my own mother who was living with dementia, providing truly person-centred care, and fostering positive relationships with the people I support and work with.
