My mother has been in the dementia unit at Pinehurst for 18 months following a debilitating stroke. She is unable to speak coherently and therefore communication is limited and her difficulties have been challenging for the staff. However, they have managed her care with the utmost kindness and professionalism. Pinehurst are a friendly team overseen by an experienced and caring manager. I have peace of mind that mum is well looked after, always clean and well-fed and the excellent activities team always include her wherever possible. I have been so pleased with my choice of care home and I have no hesitation in recommending Pinehurst. A big thank you to all the staff who have cared for mum throughout these challenging times.

It was always going to be a challenging transition, but the professional and compassionate care along with excellent family liaison has helped enormously.
The staff are brilliant and helpful at Pinehurst nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They are always happy to see me when I visit, they try and answer any questions I might have and if they don’t know they get someone who does. Well done to all the staff.

We are very happy with the care and support my mother receives at Pinehurst. She has settled in very well and has both participated and enjoyed the various activities. The staff are very caring and have been interested in speaking with mum to understand her needs.

My mum has been in Pinehurst Care Centre for approximately 10 years and she has been so well cared for. Firstly in the residential side and laterly in Pine House the dementia wing and except for the last two years due to the pandemic, we have always been welcomed and found the staff to be professional, caring and friendly. My mum is now receiving palliative care so I am now able to visit daily. The manager and caregivers have gone above and beyond in treating my mum with dignity and to feel safe and comfortable. I can fully recommend Pinehurst Care Centre as a first-class care home with confidence.

Fabulous care home, I can't fault it and would recommend it to anyone.
I've always found it easy to book in to see my Nan and the home has provided a number of options in ways to make this possible and as safe as possible.

Excellent attitude from all staff I have dealt with, phone calls and emails answered promptly. Very helpful in dealing with visits to my mother who is hard of hearing and doesn't see too well. When not contacting directly, their webpage keeps me up to date with activities.

I have been here three months and I am getting used to my surroundings. I am very happy with the staff, all are very helpful. The food is variable. As I am getting older, I felt I couldn't look after myself but this is the best thing for me.

I have been visiting weekly for about eight years. Extremely friendly staff and management, nothing is too much trouble. When changes needed to be made the utmost care was taken to granny what was happening and why. Visiting is easily arranged and staff happy to help, not to mention keeping in touch via video calls, and photos and videos on Facebook. The care and compassion from all staff is amazing, with a wide range of activities. I simply can't recommend Pinehurst enough and you efforts are very much appreciated by all the family!

During the past weeks, we have faced the sad and difficult time of my Dad's end of life. All the staff gave their continual care, respect and love throughout, showing genuine emotion and sadness. They gave us the support we needed to be able to spend time with him and say goodbye. Pinehurst became another family to my Dad, especially in this last year with visiting restrictions due to Covid. Knowing he was well cared for, entertained and happy, made the situation easier to cope with. I cannot praise or thank Pinehurst enough for all they did for my Dad in his last 3.5 years.

It has been a moving experience to watch how all the staff involved cared for him in his last days and very comforting to know that he was in such devoted hands.
Of course, this year has been difficult for everyone as we all negotiated our way through this pandemic disease but I cannot think of any stone that management or staff left unturned to keep residents safe and families in touch with their loved ones.
I am deeply thankful for the wonderful care and fun that was brought to Dad and for the staff's commitment to always go the extra mile.

My mother has been at Pinehurst for 3 years, after being diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s. I was initially concerned about how she might deteriorate after leaving the familiar routines of her own home, but instead, she enjoys the stimulation and company of her new environment. Besides its location, we chose Pinehurst because the intimate size of the facility makes for a more homely feel. We were also impressed by the professional and friendly manner of the Centre Manager and her team. Her direct involvement with both residents and families alike helps create a caring and inclusive atmosphere. All the staff make my mother feel part of the Pinehurst family and she never fails to tell us how happy she is. During this year of Covid a safe environment has been maintained which is very reassuring. As my family and I live in Australia, we appreciate being able to call her any day of the week. It is never too much trouble and we have also had some great video calls. Thank you Pinehurst!

As the Home Manager of Pinehurst Care Centre, I have over 30 years’ management experience within Adult Social Care, both with the public and private sector. I am proud to be leading a team of highly engaged, passionate people who, like me, want the people we support to live their best lives in their later years. My passion is dementia care, having cared for my own mother who was living with dementia, providing truly person-centred care, and fostering positive relationships with the people I support and work with.
