Welcome to Belmont Lodge Care Centre in Chigwell, Essex. Situated at the heart of a thriving community, Belmont Lodge offers 24-hour care for those over the age of 65. The home's highly-trained carers and visiting therapies team provide high quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. While specialising in Dementia care, they offer long-term, respite and post-operative care.

The home comprises 40 light and airy bedrooms, most of which are en-suite, and 5 relaxing day rooms. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While the bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the bright and attractive communal day rooms offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the home's guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite film.

At Belmont Lodge, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of the activities take place within the home environment and include art workshops, handicrafts, flower arranging and musical evenings. In the warmer weather, they make use of their therapeutic garden environment by enjoying garden parties and barbecues. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. All are encouraged and available. Their residents enjoy the wider community, with a thriving high street, independent shops and local park all within a short distance.

I live abroad and knowing that my mother is being looked after tirelessly by a wonderful group of people who also took the time and effort to interact with me while I visited my mother, makes me realise how blessed I am. The staff at Belmont Lodge interact so beautifully with the residents on a one
to one basis with patience and kindness which I absolutely admire and I know my mother is happy, safe and well looked after.

Good quality care. Friendly and caring staff. Went above and beyond during lockdown.
The only negative is sometimes the lack of communication between staff members, otherwise, we're truly happy with mums care.

I would like to say there has been a huge improvement in recent months. I have been informed about my Mother being resident of the day on a regular basis. She has been involved in activities and I have seen proof of this in the Facebook page and we have been sent regular updates of what she has been
doing through email. I have been able to whatsapp my Mum and this was made possible by willing staff. Thank you very much! I am now also able to visit inside after a Covid-19 test. She has been dressed well and hair kept tidy in spite of no hairdresser during these Covid-19 times. I have been informed by staff if there has been any physical or medical problem with my Mum, as soon as possible after it has occurred. My Mother was moved to a downstairs room after I mentioned it may be a lot easier for her with her condition and I believe she has settled well into her new room and likes it very much. As soon as a problem with her diet was discovered, this was quickly changed to suit her needs.

My grandmother, who is 99 years old, has been a resident at Belmont Lodge for six years. Nan, in my opinion, has always been well looked after. Staff have been caring and professional. It is hard to write a review this year as I have not had proper contact or been in Belmont Lodge due to Covid. I will
judge on past experience of the years Nan has been a resident. Our family have been kept well informed and Belmont Lodge have been accommodating to my mum (Nan's only child) so she can have some form of contact with her.

Living overseas and having my dad in care adds a level of worry, but the attention that he receives at Belmont Lodge is exceptional. I know he is well looked after and that the team there go the extra mile to make his day brighter. He was very confused when he arrived there 18 months ago, often aggressive
and with his physical and mental health failing quite badly. With their team approach, Dad is now calm and safe. Thank you for looking after my dad so very well.

The home has always looked after my Mum's needs superbly. They are caring, attentive individuals who, after 5 years, know my Mum extremely well.
They keep me informed about any issues of concern and have always been very transparent with the information they provide.
Whilst the home is not the
most modern facility, it certainly ticked all the boxes for being personal, approachable and caring when I viewed it over 5 years ago and that opinion still holds even with the challenging circumstances of Covid-19.
