I can only say positive about this wonderful care home.
My father went in just before Christmas 2025 was made to feel welcome and at home from the very first day.
The care the staff show 100% of the time is really warming to see.
Every day they seem to be doing something different with all the occupants in there
Games .exercise.outings to list a couple.
When ever I leave my dad there to go home I'm always positive that he's in great care most importantly safe.
I'd recommend to anyone looking or needing to go in to a care home to look no further.
Lastly the staff are amazing I take my hat off to the work and dedication they do

First impression is most important AND my family and I are ALWAYS welcomed into the home with a smiling face !!
Management are approachable and information given if requested ..Emails /Facebook newsletters are sent out ..Staff are attentive and kind ..it's not always about the building and its decor and luxuries (although it is clean and well maintained considering it was a Victorian school ) ..
In current times with rules/regulations I think the home copes very well under the circumstances and would recommend as a friendly safe haven for any elderly loved one looking for their final residence.
On behalf of my mum who has Alzheimer's and would totally agree..God love her :)

Overall Experience
The staff and care at Hatherley are excellent. My mother has been there several years now and she is very settled. They have a full programme of activities and much keeps the residents occupied. News and information is regularly available. And issues are communicated quickly and efficiently.
My sister and I appreciate how lucky we were to get mum into Hatherley

My mother has been happy at Hatherley, mainly due to the lovely caring staff. It took a little while for her to settle as it was massive change in her life after living independently. However the staff have been very supportive and are the main asset to the Care Home. It is shame that there are not many trips out, and the food is not always very imaginative but it is hard to cater for varied tastes. Overall it is a safe caring place for those who need all levels of support.

Since dad has been in Hatherley Care Home he has adapted to his new home brilliantly. He has maintained his independence such as daily walks and completing jigsaws, and has even started to play the piano again, something he'd given up about 5 years ago. The home has allowed dad to be himself, he goes bird/ wildlife watching and loves to listen to the bells as they ring out at St Mary's. He joins in activities when he wants to.
I have been particularly impressed by the friendly and visible staff, who are always helpful and polite and never too busy to stop and chat or answer questions. He had nails/hair/beard trimmed as necessary and access to a podiatrist within weeks of arriving which he'd needed and previously waited ages for. Staff are very kind and patient with all residents, and it is so reassuring as this is a major life decision .Although dad doesn't like the coffee, he loves everything else and dad felt pleased very quickly that Hatherley was his new home.

Overall Experience
My mum has been in Hatherley for a little over 3 years and from the moment she went there she has been settled and well cared for. She has her hair and nails done on a regular basis, which is so lovely for her. She enjoys good food and plenty of activities. We as a family are kept up to date with mum's health and know that she is well looked after. All staff are friendly and answer any questions or concerns.

Hatherley is a well run care home, the staff are very nice and helpful. My only concern is: (food) Most of the time it is ok. But sometimes there is not enough choice. I know they can't please everyone all the time.

My mother moved into Hatherley care home in June 2024. When she first moved in she was unhappy because she had to sell her house. But now she loves it , she loves her room and gets on with all the careers . In my opinion the careers and all the staff are very helpful and caring. My mum couldn't be in any better place.

My 95 year old aunt has been at Hatherley since December 25 and I have been very impressed with the quality of care and the efforts made, despite her disabilities and her reluctance, to get her to join in outings and activities. The management is unflappable and the care staff are diligent and kind.

My husband has been a resident at Hatherley Care Home since 2023. As we live locally we already knew the care home. He settled in very quickly and seems to be very contented. They have a good social events calendar. I find all the staff from the Manager down to be very friendly and caring. I have no worries with my husband being a resident in this care home..
