I have seen my mother (with dementia) bloom over the past year she has been a resident. The staff and helpers are wonderful. I am kept up to date with events going on, accompanied by photos. Mum seems to enjoy the entertainment and also the numerous crafts. I would definitely recommend this care home.

I visit the Home once a month and there is always a relaxed happy atmosphere. My friend is well looked after. I like the way that the residents have freedom to roam (obviously within safety limits) and don't feel restricted. The Home is always clean and welcoming.

My mother has been in Hopes Green Care Home for 2 and a half years. I have been very pleased with the attitude of the staff in all respects. Their treatment of residents and family alike. If I had concerns, they are always addressed. Staff retention seems to be good as far as I am aware. Agency staff
are not used, which to me is important. I have recently recommended the home for a friends mother, she has been there for several months and is very happy. She has all the facilities and would speak up if need be whereas my mother has dementia and can't.

I couldn't have wished for a better place for my mum to go into. It is always a very difficult decision for a family to make and it has given all of us a great deal of comfort plus peace of mind to know that mum is safe and cared for by genuine and kind people is all we could ask for.
I live in Spain
so I don't haver to worry about mum as much as I did when she was struggling to cope at home alone.

Very lucky to get Mum in just before Christmas after a stay in Hospital. All staff have been very friendly, caring and helpful. Mum has settled in straight away and appears happy and is always smiling, and has not asked about going home.

The home provides excellent care for my mother who has dementia. I have no reservations in recommending this care home.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and sort out any query or problem quickly and efficiently.

I never envisaged my mother needing to be placed into a care home but have

been happy and reassured that my mother continues to thrive in this setting.

My mum came to Hopes Green for a respite stay because my dad was admitted to hospital. He was struggling to look after her before his op and feel now it is best if she stays here. The staff have been so lovely and so welcoming, they speak nicely to all the residents. The food looks and smells delicious
and my mum certainly seems to enjoy it all. She likes to stay in her room mostly and the staff are happy to bring her meals to her.

As a family we have noticed improvements as of late. Things like the atmosphere, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Also mums personal care which means a great deal to us. Mum mentioned recently that she is very happy at Hopes Green.

I can't praise this care home enough, the staff really work hard giving the residents all they need - if a resident is feeling down there is always a member of staff to sit and comfort them. The staff go over and beyond in their care, bringing in special little treats etc. to make the residents feel
cared for.
The domestic staff do a good job of keeping everywhere spick and span. Any suggestions for improvement are always taken on board. The management are always available for any queries. Top rate care home!

My partner has been a resident of Hopes Green for 19 months as he has dementia. During this time his behaviour has on occasions, been challenging but the staff have always treated him in a calm, caring and compassionate way. Staff have always kept me informed about his care. The manager is always available
to see relatives and is very visible during the day. Although my partner cannot access many of the various activities on offer during the day, he does enjoy listening to the live entertainers. The food is good and there is always a choice of dishes.

Hopes Green is a very well run care home. My dad is happy to live there and we all like to see him so well cared for. As soon as I visited Hopes Green I could tell I had found a special place. The people who work there, are all very kind and patient. Thank you for looking after dad.

Current Review Score: 2.5 (2.522)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 2.5 (2.522) out of 10 for Hollyveer House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 2.5 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0.0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 2.522 for Hollyveer House is calculated as follows: ( (4 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 2.522
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hollyveer House is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
