Service is excellent, especially laundry and assistance with washing and dressing. The food is good. There is a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

A friend has been in Mundy House for some years now so I have good knowledge of the management and staff. I have seen them interacting with my friend and many other residents and they are always very professional and very caring in what sometimes can be challenging situations for them.
The home as
a 'resident centred' attitude in words and actions. Rooms are well maintained are there are a good range of activities for residents to participate in. Family/carers are regularly invited to sessions with managers where we are advised on developments in the home and where all questions and suggestions are encouraged. All the other families I have met speak highly of Mundy House. The management also has an 'open office door policy' for residents and families/carers and it is not unusual to see a resident just sitting in the office for a chat.
A well run and friendly place.

My mother spent 20 months at Mundy House up until her passing in October 2019. Narrowly missing her 100th Birthday. Like most people of her generation, she was against the idea of living in a care home and it proved very challenging for both myself and the manager and staff at Mundy House to get her
to accept that it was for the best. Everyone was on her side, not against her. Despite her disruptive behaviour in the early days, the staff persevered and Mum eventually settled and had a happy and settled time there. Everybody strived to make her life as happy and comfortable as possible. Myself and my wife cannot thank the staff at Mundy House enough for what they did for Mum. And yes, I would certainly recommend Mundy House to anybody looking for an extremely well-run care home.

The staff were always friendly, kind and very caring. My stepdad was always treated with dignity and there was always plenty to eat. The rooms were kept very clean and cosy and he was always encouraged to join in the activities in the lounge. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff work so hard.

Twice this year my 90-year-old father has spent several weeks recuperating at Mundy House. First following a nasty fall and then after a bout of pneumonia. He received much loving care, attention, consideration and kindness. Both times he was brought back to mental and physical wellbeing and helped
to maintain his independence and return home. From the extremely hands-on, kind-hearted manager to the good-humoured carers, kitchen and cleaning staff, everyone plays their part. Relatives are visibly made welcome, not just with a cup of tea and cake but time and understanding are given for their needs too. This is invaluable at such times. My father loved spending time in the well-maintained garden and thoroughly enjoyed the varied plentiful food. The phrase he used himself was the atmosphere feels like a big family. I agree wholeheartedly. Singing, music, chatter and laughter abound and despite hard work and long hours, much effort is made by staff to make life as cheerful as it can be. I have no hesitation in recommending this home.

My mum has been in Mundy House only a few weeks after we have removed her from another home. This is an excellent run home where all her needs are met. The carers are very supportive, caring and always have time for a chat, nothing too much trouble, treating my mum like a person, not just another number.
My mum has a lot of health issues and since she has been in Mundy House there has been a significant improvement so thanks to the manager and the carers.

My 88 year old aunt stayed here for two months after a hip operation. The staff were great and helped her with rest and exercise. The chef was also very helpful with Aunt's diet, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Munday House.

My aunt stayed in Mundy House for two weeks of respite care. She received excellent care for the time she was there. The staff were very kind and caring to her and she was very happy there. I would not hesitate to choose this home for her if she decided she needs full-time care.

My mum has been in Mundy House for two years. My auntie has been there for seven years and my mother-in-law for six months. I have found the care and support from management staff down to cleaners excellent. They seem to try to provide all the residents needs with what funds they have.

Our Mum has been in Mundy House's care for two and a half years and we have only praise for the care she has received and is receiving. The staff are wonderful and no matter what time of day they always take time to talk to us and keep us updated on mum's health and general situation. Mum has recently
returned to Mundy House after a short spell in hospital and despite all our worst fears, we are amazed at her “recovery” as she continues to thrive under their care. The reassurance and confidence they have provided us with over the past couple of years has been priceless and we know Mum is happy and comfortable in Mundy House. Thank you to all of you-you deserve 10/10.

My husband is a new resident. He is happy and settling in nicely. The manager and staff are excellent. They are kind, caring and happy people.
There are many activities that stimulate and encourage him to be a little more independent.
Overall, the care, attention and respect he receives is excellent.
Visitors are made more than welcome anytime, any day. The home is clean and bright and the food is excellent (always a choice of menu).
A lovely place to be.

My father was in hospital and then discharged to Mundy House.
He has been here now for 3 weeks.
During this time I have found the home to be very caring.
The staff cannot do enough for the residents and it is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Whenever we visit we are made to feel welcome and
my father is very happy here.
I can highly recommend this home.

No words can express our thanks to the management and staff at Mundy House. Not only do they look after the residents with such care, but they also take the families under their wings too. Mum's stay at Mundy House started in November 2016. She suffers from Vascular Dementia and wasn't safe in her own
home. A couple of weeks ago, mum was rushed to hospital after the staff found her one morning very unresponsive. When the doctors discharged her, we were worried that she would need a nursing home for palliative care.

Josi George

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2004

The Registered Home Manager, Josi George, has a passion for the care of older people, he works alongside his staff to ensure they offer the best in individual care for the residents. He achieved Level 5 in Leadership and Management in 2016. Also, he completed the My Home Life course for the Care Home Managers in 2016 conducted by the Essex Local Authority. Josi also has NVQ level 3 in Management, health & social care along customer care. He has also completed training courses in all mandatory subjects in the past and will continue attending all Healthcare Management Solutions own courses.


Josi has achieved Champions in Dementia through the Alzheimer’s Society and is a trained trainer for Dementia care. Josi has 20 years of experience in care and he has been the manager of Mundy House since 2014.
