Mundy House Care Home

The manager and the team at Mundy House have been fantastic with regards to care for my Mum this month. I had my first visit since February after moving back to the UK and this was really well arranged. I felt that all COVID safety measures were followed and it was lovely to have half an hour with Mum, too short of course but the rules need to be followed at this difficult time. Mum has had problems with her breathing for many years and these are now getting worse. She needed urgent care this week as her oxygen levels had got very low and the work that the manager did to get the right people to see Mum in the difficult time between Christmas and New Year and with all the COVID stuff going on, was marvellous. Mum’s care has been paramount in all of this and I feel she has been very well treated at a difficult time. I cannot recommend Mundy House any higher.

I am extremely happy with the care that dad receives at Mundy House, the atmosphere is welcoming and happy, staff make a point of getting to know you personally and are never too busy to deal with questions or queries. The activities and music sessions are engaging and staff make an effort to include all residents. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. Dad told me he now lives in a hotel with very nice food, praise indeed!

The staff at Mundy House have shown patience and understanding with my mother, who has been resident at the home for a few years now. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone with an elderly family member who may need care in the future.

Mundy House has looked after my dearest mum for the past year, when my sister and I were told at Christmas that dear Mum was in the last few weeks of her life, that was such a shock to us, completely unexpected! But dearest Mum is still with us, despite COVID, she is still going strong, and I think that is purely down to the superb care that Mundy House provides. The manager has also gone out of his way to try and find some way for my sister and I to visit Mum with COVID restrictions in place. Mundy House, the manager and all the dear carers are absolutely the very best!! I would not want my dear mum to be anywhere else.

During and after COVID we have been kept up to date with all the changes in line with government guidance and have been able to visit Mum with safe restrictions in place. Thank you Munday House staff - stay safe!

Went to see my Mum today 15.7.2020. So pleased how the staff is looking after everyone in the home during this pandemic. Whenever I go and visit my Mum the staff are always so happy, friendly, and caring. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the resident's needs. Well done to all the staff and management and Mundy House. I am so pleased that my Mum is in the care of these people

I used to see my husband 3 times a week before the Coronavirus lockdown so it was lovely to see him after 3 months. I think they are all managing quite well under the conditions.

Mundy House always does a great job of looking after their residents, and in the present very difficult circumstances, the staff are really taking exceptional care. The regular Facebook updates show how well the residents are cared for and how happy they are. It's a pleasure to see when we are unable to visit.

My mum spent her last months in the care home. They have a great staff team there who treat residents with both dignity and respect.

The care home has a warm, friendly feeling and my brother was well cared for. The staff go that extra mile and show they have feelings for the patients.

My mum has taken some time to settle into the care home but has found the home to be very caring and the activities very good. Just having problems with the residents, as there is a good percentage of dementia, which we did not realise at the time of viewing the home. A little concern for my mum's stimulation with conversation at times.

Service is excellent, especially laundry and assistance with washing and dressing. The food is good. There is a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

My mother spent 20 months at Mundy House up until her passing in October 2019. Narrowly missing her 100th Birthday. Like most people of her generation, she was against the idea of living in a care home and it proved very challenging for both myself and the manager and staff at Mundy House to get her to accept that it was for the best. Everyone was on her side, not against her. Despite her disruptive behaviour in the early days, the staff persevered and Mum eventually settled and had a happy and settled time there. Everybody strived to make her life as happy and comfortable as possible. Myself and my wife cannot thank the staff at Mundy House enough for what they did for Mum. And yes, I would certainly recommend Mundy House to anybody looking for an extremely well-run care home.

The staff were always friendly, kind and very caring. My stepdad was always treated with dignity and there was always plenty to eat. The rooms were kept very clean and cosy and he was always encouraged to join in the activities in the lounge. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff work so hard.

Twice this year my 90-year-old father has spent several weeks recuperating at Mundy House. First following a nasty fall and then after a bout of pneumonia. He received much loving care, attention, consideration and kindness. Both times he was brought back to mental and physical wellbeing and helped to maintain his independence and return home. From the extremely hands-on, kind-hearted manager to the good-humoured carers, kitchen and cleaning staff, everyone plays their part. Relatives are visibly made welcome, not just with a cup of tea and cake but time and understanding are given for their needs too. This is invaluable at such times. My father loved spending time in the well-maintained garden and thoroughly enjoyed the varied plentiful food. The phrase he used himself was the atmosphere feels like a big family. I agree wholeheartedly. Singing, music, chatter and laughter abound and despite hard work and long hours, much effort is made by staff to make life as cheerful as it can be. I have no hesitation in recommending this home.

My mum has been in Mundy House only a few weeks after we have removed her from another home. This is an excellent run home where all her needs are met. The carers are very supportive, caring and always have time for a chat, nothing too much trouble, treating my mum like a person, not just another number. My mum has a lot of health issues and since she has been in Mundy House there has been a significant improvement so thanks to the manager and the carers.
