Oaklands Care Home

I truly believe something happened there with staff not taking enough care of his needs when they were fully aware of his needs on admission for this respite.

I visited my mum and was made very welcome by the staff. I find the staff and managers very friendly. They have so much time for the residents. I can leave my mum with peace of mind. I don't have to worry.

My husband has been a resident of the Oaklands Care Home for five months, and he has settled in really well. I couldn't wish for a nicer place for him to be, as the management and the care staff are all fantastic. My husband has recently spent six weeks in the hospital with a urine infection, and during those six weeks, the staff didn't get him out of bed once. When he was sent back to the home, I was told along with the home that my husband was bedbound, but with dedication from the staff, he was walking again the next day, for which I was truly grateful for, and he is improving all the time. Many thanks.

My dad was recently in the hospital for a few weeks; he wasn’t allowed out of bed, so we were told he had become bedbound. On arrival, back at the care home, they had him up and about, walking. The time and care taken by the staff were second to none. Now he is up and walking; they still take the time and care to keep him active. Brilliant staff and the home is very clean. Cannot find any faults whatsoever; thank you to all the team.

The current manager has been extremely good and since her arrival standards have improved considerably. Our relatives cleanliness could improve and encouragement to participate in more things would probably be beneficial. Being outside when possible would assist his well being. We're looking forward to his room being redecorated.

We couldn't be happier for our mum to be at Oaklands Care Home Langston Hills. From the start all the staff have been amazing and helpful and supportive with helping my mum to adjust and settle in at the home. They are always willing to listen and offer advice and support if needed. My mum is very well cared for at Oaklands and I couldn't be more grateful to all the staff.

So far the care for my mother has been excellent. The staff are very kind and friendly and are taking good care of her and her needs.

My dad appears well fed and his personal hygiene needs kept. Can't fault his care at all.

All the staff do their utmost to accommodate the residents. They are amazing, the rooms are lovely, they make every effort to make the residents feel at home. The food and activities are brilliant. Excellent!

I have found everyone at Oaklands Care Home helpful and caring. My aunt has been here since April and they have looked after her extremely well and keep me informed at each stage of her care.

During the time my father has been temporarily resting in Oaklands Care Home I've seen that residents I was told had dementia was wandering into different rooms. I needed to ask staff to keep closer attention to their residents for their safety as one time the door was left unlocked and two residents nearly exited late evening but I called the office phone. Apart from this it is not always easy to phone them if their phones being used. Voicemail says you can not leave a message for staff. With Oaklands care home having a lot of residents the staff work very hard to care for all their residents and are quite protective of their health with regards to Covid.

The staff and management at Oaklands are exceptional, and the care and support they have given over the last two years during the pandemic cannot be praised highly enough.

Mum seems very settled and happy here. Staff have been extremely helpful to us and Mum during this difficult transition from being at home to going into care. Mum is always well dressed and looks clean and tidy. Hair is always done her room is always clean and tidy.

Facilities are clean and carers have been exemplary in their duties and have looked after my mother very well. I am kept up to date with all issues and extremely happy with the current care package that my mother is receiving.

My wife has now been here for a couple of weeks and I have been very impressed with the management and all of the staff.

My dad came in in a bit of a state, after a few weeks he gained weight and looked more like his old self. Anytime I wanted to speak to him on the phone the staff were more than happy to take the phone to him. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

A little more interaction with the patients would be nice.

The staff are friendly, They are considerate to her needs. She feels at home and content. The staff are also helpful.

Staff always helpful and look after Mums needs in a friendly way. They demonstrate a careful attitude to safe visits during the Covid pandemic. We are always kept informed about Mums health care.
