This is down to the frankly AMAZING care home manager ( Hayley) and her team, Angela and Denisa.
This home and it's incredibly hard working staff( shout out to Mohomed and lovely Am), have restored my faith in humanity.
My Father is now, healthier and more importantly happier and it's all down to Okeley. If I could give 11 stars out of 10 I would, a care home should be exactly that and under the strong management of Hayley this is exactly what it is..... Thank you Okeley.
We are truly humbled by your review. It means a great deal to know that your father has settled well with us and that he is now healthier, happier, and receiving the care and support he deserves....
Very happy with the care given to my grandfather all his needs met and veryhappy he is near the garden so he can enjoy the gardens and have a smoke as he used to enjoy gardening so he is very happy

My father in law seems to be looked after well and has put on weight and looks better as he was not eating properly before he came here. All the staff seem pleasant and are very patient and kind to residents.
Thank you so much for your wonderful fivestar review. Were delighted to hear that your fatherinlaw is looking healthier and feeling better since coming to us. Our team works hard to create a caring, patient, and supportive environment for every resident, so your kind words mean a great deal. Its a privilege to look after him.
Staff are brilliant throughout. And very kind, polite and helpful. Very clean place. Dad seems very happy here. Entertainment seems to be good for residents. Overall I would recommend this place to anybody who has someone to need it

I want to say a huge thank you to the unsung hero's. The laundry staff, the cleaners.
When my husband passed they were there for me also the senior care person who was on nights when my husband passed.
Not one carer in my husband's dementia floor offered condolences when my husband passed.
Thank the lord my darling husband is at peace and away from Okeley care home.
We appreciate your kind words about our laundry and housekeeping teams, as well as the senior member of staff who supported you during such a difficult...
My father in law has been in Okeley for 3 months, he is very happy and very well cared for. We viewed quite a few care homes but knew straight away this was the top of our list. He calls it his home already, which makes us very happy knowing he is being very well cared for and gives us peace of mind.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely feedback. Were delighted to hear that your fatherinlaw has settled in so well and already feels at home that truly means a great deal to us. Knowing he is happy, comfortable, and well cared for is exactly what we strive for, and its wonderful to hear that...
Generally good, nursing staff work hard, always nice coming onto reception - warm feeling. Cleanliness in mum's room could be improved, surfaces and particularly bedding with her stoma. Food leave a lot to be desired at times, and is often cold and bland. Still little understanding of foods mum should not be served
welcome when arriving at reception. Creating a positive atmosphere is important to us, and its encouraging to know this comes across.
We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the cleanliness of your mums room and the concerns around her bedding and stoma care. Your feedback is...

Knowing that families feel reassured and wellsupported means a great deal to us. We truly appreciate your feedback.
Overall Okeley is a great care home, run and staffed by a dedicated team. The management team been fantastic, always supportive and addressed any concerns/issues immediately. All staff have always been welcoming and friendly. The home has a lovely atmosphere and is kept spotlessly clean on the whole - although I feel that my mum's room could be kept cleaner, i.e. sticky surfaces and more attention to bed linen changes due to her particular issues. Activities team are amazing and always encourages participation. Food needs addressing, more variety needed.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We're delighted to hear that you feel Okeley is a great home and that our dedicated team, including management, has been supportive, responsive, and welcoming. Creating a warm atmosphere and maintaining high standards of...

My 93 year old mother seems to be settled and happy to be here. Staff are so kind and caring and always have time to make her feel valued. She has been resident for 4 years plus and we have not seen the need to consider moving her. I am happy for her to remain here until the end of her days as her needs are met extremely well.

My dad moved to Okeley care home on the 17th March 2026 we visited many care homes at least twice to get a feel of the care homes and to see if any were a suitable place for him, as soon as we stepped into Okeley and met the manager the carers and admin they put our minds at rest straight away, we went on a tour of the home and to see his room and knew straight away this would be the care home suitable for my dad, the care everyone shows to residents is just lovely to see, from not just the carers but management, receptionist, laundry staff, chefs, handy man etc you can tell they all love their jobs. When filling in this review I asked my dad's opinion on the care home and he told me what rating to give I think the outcome speaks for itself. If you are looking for a care home I would totally recommend Okeley without hesitation, the compassion, kindness and care is second to none, and we have great peace of mind knowing my dad is well cared for and in my dads own words "I love it here"

Fab staff, great activities, very clean, great food.
Thank you for your generous 5-star review. Our staff take great pride in creating a safe, welcoming environment, and your recognition means the world to them.
Dad has experienced many health issues since he moved in November 2025, and overall the care and empathy has been excellent. Recently challenging due to UTI delerium but some of the carers like Tilly have been wonderful to reassure dad and look after him. Tolu and Nimmy are also great with Dad. We are also reassured by the presence of Mohammed, Mary, Sanjanan, Carmen and Shirleen. There is one carer that isn't as good with his bedside manner, but overall the experience has been positive. Just to add, Karen on reception is lovely and a credit to Okeley. Thank you to the team!
It means a great deal to hear that your dad has felt supported, especially through the more challenging moments. The team will be delighted to know their care and reassurance have made a positive difference. We're also very...

Meet the Team (1)

I joined Excelcare in 2016 after having been with my previous care provider for 16 years and wanting to develop my career further. I started at Sweyne Court in Rayleigh where I stayed for four years. Then in 2020, the Home Manager role became available at Okeley, and I was ready for the new challenge whilst staying with Excelcare, where I love working. It was the perfect opportunity.
I enjoy making people happy and comfortable and creatingmemorable moments that the people living with us can enjoy and reminisce about. It is so wonderful seeing people previously isolated become social butterflies and make new friends.
The team are kind, caring and compassionate and puts the people living at Okeley first. They are keen and willing to learn, and I hear many positive comments about them from the residents and their loved ones. I am so proud to be part of the Okeley family
