My mum who has dementia has been a resident at Legra for two and a half years. From the day we arrived following a traumatic journey from another area the Manager and her team have been welcoming and supportive. They helped mum to settle and have always treated her with love, patience and understanding. The Manager and ALL her staff have taken the time to get to know her well and her specific needs and have found strategies to help calm her when she's distressed . They find time to sit and talk to find out what's troubling her. The Home has a friendly, calm, caring atmosphere with staff who even in difficult situations manage to maintain a sense of humour. Mum is well cared for and her room is always clean and tidy. The staff and Manager quickly deal with any medical issues and keep me well informed. As a family we are very pleased with the care mum receives and all credit must go to the Manager and her excellent staff.

Mum came here in April 2024 from another care home.
The manager and her team are FANTASTIC, nothing is too much trouble. Mum settled very well and considers this her home. The care mum receives is second to none and we are informed of every aspect of mums care.
All staff know mums likes and dislikes and she is often given a hot chocolate in the evening which she loves.
I cannot recommend this care home enough.

Thank you for everything

This home goes above and beyond with caring. They care for my mum with compassion and every member of staff takes the time to get to know mum and her ways. As a family we are so happy and we love how they know mum so well.

My mum has been a Legra Residential Care Home for over 3 years. The care my mum and the other residents are shown is wonderful. The manager is always so helpful and caring and has given me the support I have needed over the past few years. All of the staff are lovely they all work really hard in what can be a mentally and physically demanding job. I cannot fault the care my mum has received since being there I feel extremely lucky my mum is in Legra as I have full peace of mind my mum is properly looked after. The staff and manager always communicate with me if mum is unwell and act quickly to get her better as soon as possible. They have become like a second family to me and I think the world of them. The home should be recognised for the amazing work they do looking after the residents and supporting the families they should be very proud.

Mum has been at Legra since Oct 2022.
It was a hard decision for us to make but the best decision for Mum.
The manager and the girls are amazing - nothing is too much trouble, and the love and care they give Mum are outstanding.
This is now Mum's home, and it feels like our home too.

Thank you, Legra, for all you do.

My mum has lived at Legra for nearly 2 years. I never thought she would settle in, as she was so reliant on myself and my sister for the previous 9 years.
I can honestly say I have not had any regrets since Mum has been here because of the love and care Mum receives from the manager and her amazing team. They know my mum so well and know how to deal with Mum’s needs.

It’s home from home coming to Legra. Thank you to everyone at Legra for making my mum feel loved like she should be.

My mum has severe dementia and in May 2023 events reached a head and we needed to organise a care home quickly, all I can say is thank goodness for Legra.
From the moment we walked into the home, the manager and her fantastic team were there providing a welcoming atmosphere and a calmness around the place. Mum has thrived since they took her under their wing.
We all have reservations about putting parents into a home, but everyone was always there to reassure us and say that this is now our home from home too. Believe me, I think they have looked after me as much as Mum.

If you are in any doubt about using Legra, go and spend half an hour here and you will see.

My mother has been at Legra since July 2022. She went initially for 4 weeks following a 3 week stay in hospital for a fractured hip. Her greatest fear always was having to give up her independence and go into a home. The staff have nurtured her, and the rest of the family, through the trauma of making the decision to stay and selling her property. The staff are kind, caring, and empathetic. It really is the little touches that make the difference. They take time to talk to her and really do provide person-centred care. They are always friendly and welcoming to visitors and ready to answer questions and listen to any concerns. I have every confidence in the manager and her staff to provide the best care for Mum. Mum has been able to personalise her room and has her own bedding.

My Dad has been a resident for just over a year now. I could not be happier with the love and care that he has received. We are free to visit anytime day or night. All staff are always caring, professional, respectful. The manager and her team are a credit to the home.

I didn’t ever think my dad would be happy in a care home as he could be very awkward at times, to say the least, but I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful and caring place for him to be. It’s a home from home and I always feel just as at home as he does. The reason for his contentment is solely down to the amazing staff who treat their residents with respect and a caring attitude. I’ve laughed and cried with them at times and they were there for me as well when I needed it. It’s just like home but with a few more people in it. I really believe dad wouldn’t be here now if it hadn’t been for their caring and kind attitudes. They’ve taken the time to get to know him and his likes and dislikes and know just how to treat him.

My dad has been here for just over two weeks having been moved from hospital to temporary care. I am so happy with the care he is receiving from all at Legra Care Home. He is in a calm and kind environment and the staff seem well able to cope with his vascular dementia and all that that entails.
They are very concerned with looking after him as a person and not just his personal care. Today when I visited he was more relaxed than I have seen him in a long while.

Legra is clean and calm and their empathetic approach is something I haven’t experienced before in this situation.
