Not sure on views as due to lockdown, our sister-in-law has only been in a couple of weeks, but she seems happy.

Easy move into care home life for Mum. Great caring staff and nothing is too much trouble. Lots to keep Mum busy and entertained. A bright, airy home with a great garden. Quiet lounges, busy TV lounge and one to take your guests to. Mum's room is a very good size and is bright and comfortable.

My mother has been at Brookvale House for just over four months and is very happy and well cared for. She was losing weight at home and finding it difficult to cope, even with carers coming in three times a day. At Brookvale, I know she is gaining weight and interested in what's going on around her.

Reply from Kerry Colbourne, Manager at Brookvale House

Thank you for your kind review. I notice you rated satisfactory in two areas. If you would like to discuss this further to help us with any improvements to make your Mum's stay more comfortable, I will be happy to meet with you.

We find all the staff at Brookvale House kind and helpful. My mother's bedroom is always clean and tidy and she always looks well cared for with fresh clean clothes. She looks comfortable in the very smart new chairs and there is always plenty of entertainment.

Brookvale staff are all very friendly and helpful and working hard to maintain the care and dignity of their residents. The care home is clean and comfortable and the garden is colourful and well maintained. The food is excellent, with a good variety and taking into account smaller appetites and dietary requirements.

The care staff at Brookvale House have worked hard to settle my mother-in-law in to be here. It has been very difficult at times for all concerned but they have built a lovely caring relationship with her and they have treated her with respect and dignity. The home is lovely and the garden is a lovely area to sit out and relax. The activities are good, but most of all the food is outstanding and the food is a very important part of a residents life.

My first contact with Brookvale House was a telephone conversation. It was very much better handled than in the other homes I had already contacted. The persons who came to see us in our house inspired confidence. And, indeed, I know, and our children know, that my husband is safe with you.
At all times, all the members of staff have been kind, friendly and patient. The food is very good, the place is very clean, all my concerns have been taken into consideration.

I have been made to feel very welcome every single day, so have our son and our friends.

Last minute respite care required. The manager came out to review my father and we were able to get my father in 2 days later.
The staff were excellent, caring for my father ensuring that he was safe, cared for and treated with care and dignity. The staff used humour to help dad cope with his Alzheimer's which he thoroughly enjoyed the interaction.

Thank you to all the staff.
