Both my parents moved to Mountbatten Lodge in 2019 when my father was diagnosed with dementia and was not able to look after my Mum. They were able to be in rooms next to each other which was great. Sadly my Dad died after contracting Covid, in the hospital I might add and although he was able to go
back to the home he was too unwell to stay. The care of both my parents was exemplary during this time and they were looked after and safeguarded during Covid. My Mum is still under care and I can't recommend the home more. They look after her so well, inform me of any issues and she is like one of the family. I am so happy and so is she, I wouldn't want her anywhere else.

This is really the best place for my mum to be a resident.
Good food and varied.
Lots of activities that go on here.
The staff... from the management to carers, they are literally the best.
I cannot wait for the summer to come... BBQs and outside activities.

Some really fantastic carers and management, especially the longer-serving team here.
Mum's assigned carer is an absolute godsend.
I very much appreciate the extra mile and effort the established staff constantly take.

Since Mum has been in here, I've been so happy with this home. The staff are very welcoming to us all. The carers are very kind and helpful, I do have my favourites who have a special connection with Mum. I follow Mountbatten on social media, they always do such lovely activities.
Most importantly
Mum is happy here.

As my mother cannot be at home to live there is nowhere else I would rather she was.

My mother has been resident here for almost 10 years and I have always been satisfied with the care provided to her. My mother is treated with respect and appears happy. During the pandemic I was confident that she remained safe and cared for. We had regular contact with video calls and updates. She
always appears presentable and nourished.

My mother has been at Mountbatten Lodge for several years now and is very happy there. She is well looked after and when her health allows she loves to join in with the activities. She has great relationships with the carers and I am very confident that when I cannot be there for her she is given good
quality care and that is all I can ask for. My mother's room is in need of some refurbishment but due to the nature of mum's condition it has been decided that it would not be in her best interests to move her to carry out the work, this would be my only concern about the home and I have no doubt this will be rectified before anyone takes over mums room when she is no longer there.

Great place to be if you want to visit anyone, it has very friendly staff and the manager who can't do enough to help you have an enjoyable time with the people you want to spend time with. Excellent facilities and care, I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to have their family member stay
in a happy environment and be well looked after.

We moved our family member into Mountbatten Lodge in August 2023. The care that he was given there was exemplary and as a family, we all felt supported and looked after by the wonderful team.
We knew on our first visit that this was where we wanted him to be looked after. The team were attentive and
very very caring. They work incredibly hard to care for individual needs and give every resident a unique experience. They go out of their way to understand the people they care for and provide them with a wonderful package.
When we lost our family member the home continued to support us through what was an incredibly difficult time and we will be eternally grateful for their kindness and love. This team of carers, led by an amazing manager, are truly special and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and use them again to care for someone I love. I'd move in there too if I could!

Mother has moved in only a month or two ago, but all staff have helped her to settle in and have been very attentive and accommodating. A couple of health issues have been dealt with effectively and with compassion. What could have been a nightmare has been a smooth transition for Mother and she feels
content. Staff although busy have always made time to help with patience and kindness. Happy, family atmosphere. Thank you very much.

My mother-in-law was apprehensive about going into a care home, even though it was for respite. She suffers from Alzheimer’s, and her behaviours changed quite dramatically in the first few days. The patience, kindness and respect shown towards her and her deteriorating condition were fantastic. The
activities that are put on for the residents to keep them mentally and socially active are well-planned and thought-through. The care home staff also kept in regular contact with us to inform us of any developments in her condition and health.
She doesn’t use a walking frame and is relatively mobile, so staff were able to take her across the road for a wander around the shops too.
Whenever we or other family members visited my mother-in-law, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. They are always cheerful and amazingly attentive to the residents.
The manager went above and beyond her duty of care to ensure that her stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

My father became a resident in November 2022 after being unable to care for himself due to frequent falls and two TIA's. The care has been exceptional from carers, cleaners, cooks and management. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff go out of their way to try and accommodate residents requirements.

The quality of care in Mountbatten Lodge is impeccable. The home offers excellent dementia care and has gone the extra mile in ensuring that Mum receives the personalised care she needs. They have also supported me and my family to learn about Dementia and what we can do to help. The staff are gentle,
compassionate, and empathetic, making everyone feel valued and respected. The activities staff offer a busy entertainment programme; My mum really loves the professional singer, as it gives her a chance to show off her dance moves. The food served is excellent - catering to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
In short, the manager and her team have been outstanding in providing top-notch care, comfort, and support to my mum. The facilities are cosy and clean, and the ambience is peaceful and tranquil. We feel so relieved knowing that our mum is in good hands - we couldn't ask for a better place.

My mother has been a resident at Mountbatten Lodge for more than a year. She loves the place and says it really feels like home. The facilities are very good and clean. The staff are really excellent and friendly and it seems like nothing is too much trouble for them. There are quite a few communal
activities organised and some outings for things like bingo happen or even just a walk to the very nearby Tescos. The grounds are well maintained with a purpose built BBQ and seating around. Considering it is so close to a main road it is a very peaceful place to live. The food is well prepared and is varied.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.772)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.772) out of 10 for Mountbatten Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.797 for Mountbatten Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (188 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.797
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mountbatten Lodge is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
