Great place to be if you want to visit anyone, it has very friendly staff and the manager who can't do enough to help you have an enjoyable time with the people you want to spend time with. Excellent facilities and care, I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to have their family member stay in a happy environment and be well looked after.

We moved our family member into Mountbatten Lodge in August 2023. The care that he was given there was exemplary and as a family, we all felt supported and looked after by the wonderful team.
We knew on our first visit that this was where we wanted him to be looked after. The team were attentive and very very caring. They work incredibly hard to care for individual needs and give every resident a unique experience. They go out of their way to understand the people they care for and provide them with a wonderful package.

When we lost our family member the home continued to support us through what was an incredibly difficult time and we will be eternally grateful for their kindness and love. This team of carers, led by an amazing manager, are truly special and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and use them again to care for someone I love. I'd move in there too if I could!

Mother has moved in only a month or two ago, but all staff have helped her to settle in and have been very attentive and accommodating. A couple of health issues have been dealt with effectively and with compassion. What could have been a nightmare has been a smooth transition for Mother and she feels content. Staff although busy have always made time to help with patience and kindness. Happy, family atmosphere. Thank you very much.

Overall Experience
My mother-in-law was apprehensive about going into a care home, even though it was for respite. She suffers from Alzheimer’s, and her behaviours changed quite dramatically in the first few days. The patience, kindness and respect shown towards her and her deteriorating condition were fantastic. The activities that are put on for the residents to keep them mentally and socially active are well-planned and thought-through. The care home staff also kept in regular contact with us to inform us of any developments in her condition and health.
She doesn’t use a walking frame and is relatively mobile, so staff were able to take her across the road for a wander around the shops too.
Whenever we or other family members visited my mother-in-law, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. They are always cheerful and amazingly attentive to the residents.

The manager went above and beyond her duty of care to ensure that her stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

My Mum has been at the care home for two months now and during her time here has settled in really well. The staff are unfailingly helpful, considerate of her needs and so friendly. After viewing twelve care homes initially I am so pleased we chose the right home for Mum.

My father became a resident in November 2022 after being unable to care for himself due to frequent falls and two TIA's. The care has been exceptional from carers, cleaners, cooks and management. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff go out of their way to try and accommodate residents requirements.

The quality of care in Mountbatten Lodge is impeccable. The home offers excellent dementia care and has gone the extra mile in ensuring that Mum receives the personalised care she needs. They have also supported me and my family to learn about Dementia and what we can do to help. The staff are gentle, compassionate, and empathetic, making everyone feel valued and respected. The activities staff offer a busy entertainment programme; My mum really loves the professional singer, as it gives her a chance to show off her dance moves. The food served is excellent - catering to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.

In short, the manager and her team have been outstanding in providing top-notch care, comfort, and support to my mum. The facilities are cosy and clean, and the ambience is peaceful and tranquil. We feel so relieved knowing that our mum is in good hands - we couldn't ask for a better place.

My mother has been a resident at Mountbatten Lodge for more than a year. She loves the place and says it really feels like home. The facilities are very good and clean. The staff are really excellent and friendly and it seems like nothing is too much trouble for them. There are quite a few communal activities organised and some outings for things like bingo happen or even just a walk to the very nearby Tescos. The grounds are well maintained with a purpose built BBQ and seating around. Considering it is so close to a main road it is a very peaceful place to live. The food is well prepared and is varied.

My dad was accepted by Mountbatten Lodge in February 2023. He had been in hospital for a while and was pretty frail. His health has been deteriorating rapidly over the last 6 months and the staff have all been amazing with his care. He has been particularly challenging with staff and family, yet they know exactly how to cope with him and keep smiling. They have been very quick to deal with necessary health issues that have occurred and treatments put in place quickly. I have been informed of every doctor's visit and any changes that need making, to make sure that I am in agreement. I can't fault this care home in any sense. High standards of cleanliness, care and communication.

Very good. My mother is looked after very well. The carers are very busy taking care of everyone. Also doing many activities with the residents to make life more enjoyable for them. Our Mum is very happy at Mountbatten Lodge, all the staff go above and beyond ensuring she is safe and well cared for, which gives my family peace of mind. If there are any issues we are notified by a phone call, happily these are few and far between. Recently they asked all the residents if they had one wish what would it be, Mum is a massive Elvis fan and her wish was to go to Gracelands which of course was impossible but they arranged for an Elvis impersonator to come along to the care home to perform, seeing mums face light up and singing along to the songs made it all worthwhile. The care staff are very attentive. On occasions, if the carers have time they will take Mum in her wheelchair over to the supermarket, Mum loves this as it makes her feel like she has a purpose and a bit of normality in the outside world. If you are looking for an excellent care home as Elvis would say 'you've come to the right place' well done all of you.

Mum moved into Mountbatten Lodge in November 2022. From the start, staff have been good at helping her settle in. Given all her circumstances she’s done really well, when I visit, it’s clear that she’s in a clean, well-run, friendly home, with supportive staff. We have had issues (not related to the home or the care there) and the manager could not have been more helpful or supportive. I could only be happier if Mum were nearer me - we are significantly distant geographically. I feel lucky that Mum is in such a good home - the food’s great too!
