There are not enough words to thank the amazing staff at Sunrise for the care and attention they showed my step mum during her months of respite and to me in the last days of her life. Nothing was too much for them, from the laundry staff to the cleaners to the F and B team to ALL the amazing nurses
and the incredible managers especially. They made sure she was comfortable and clean and well-fed during all her stays. She was so so happy being there and looked forward to going back after her hospital stays. I always knew that she was safe and that she would be well looked after when I left her in the evenings. Thank you all so much for the kindness and care you showed her and the whole family at the end. I can't recommend your care home enough.

My mother was on the second floor, reminiscence, in Sunrise of Elstree, until she passed away several weeks ago.
Sadly we were not able to care for my mother at home with her dementia, and so she moved into Sunrise three and a half years ago.
My family and I have always been very happy with the care
she received there from all members of the staff. They have always been caring and cheerful in what were often difficult situations. The staff have felt like our family and came to know and understand my mother very well.
We were always notified of any changes in her condition in a timely fashion and staff always sought appropriate medical advice.
My mother's room was always kept clean and tidy, and clothing washed very frequently. Again staff doing these jobs were always helpful and cheerful.
My family and I have felt supported by the staff during the time that my mother was in Sunrise of Elstree.

Moving out of the family home after 38 years was the difficult decision I have taken in recent years. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2010 and due to its progression, I now have 24/7 care. The team at Sunrise have welcomed me into the community and great care has been taken to settle me
in and "feel at home". Those last three words summarise where I hope to be by Christmas this year.
The care home encourages residents to so as much as they can and not forgetting to assist with personal and other tasks. My thanks to all the staff, including those "behind the scenes" for my care and safety.

Following my surgery, to my spine, I arrived at Sunrise of Elstree for respite and I must say I have been impressed by the high quality of care and attention by all concerned. The friendliness of the staff to the residents is very impressive. The location of the home is excellent and I would certainly
like to come back if needs be.

Dad has been at Sunrise for 6 months now. He has a lovely room - it is spacious and always clean and tidy. The care team do a wonderful job caring for him - especially when he has them up all night! Their kindness and patience is very much appreciated. The activities on offer are excellent and Dad has
enjoyed singing, dancing and trips out. He is safe, happy and well looked after.

The home itself is in a beautiful location with amazing views at the back which is breathtaking. The home itself is bright and modern in furnishings compared to others I have seen and spacious rooms and corridors. Finally, cannot fault the staff, very hands-on with residents, good quality of care and
attention to all residents, which I was concerned about initially but needn't have been. The only downside, wish minimum period/stay could be shorter if required.

Sunrise is a beautiful location with great facilities and some very lovely staff.
However, it is very expensive and needs to provide better value for money.
Whilst the menu looks impressive the quality of food needs to be better and rather than spend more money (as planned) on aesthetics (which are
already wonderful) I would invest in more staff and more interesting outings for residents as well as the kitchen and chef.

The care and attention are excellent and the accommodation is just what we wanted very clean, resident well and comfortable. The food could not be better it is both tasty and well cooked.
The staff are very well trained and interested to make everyone feel cared for.

I have been very happy with Sunrise over the years. Their overall care, in both Reminiscence and Assisted Living, has been to a very high standard. All staff members are delightful and couldn't do more for the residents.

Generally well-run. Often short staffed though agency staff not competent. Food not good - very hit and miss. Activities promised on day sheet and then do not happen. Some days it is impossible to find a carer.

My mother seems always to be in good spirits when we speak which I assume is down to her care. She enjoys, I believe, the numerous activities she is able to participate in. All seems well organised and she is happy as much, given her circumstances, as she can be.

My sister has been a resident for 3 years. Before accepting Sunrise of Elstree, we viewed 5 other homes and it was clear Sunrise of Elstree had the edge. She has been well cared for throughout the 3 years and we do not believe we can find a better home.

My mother has been in Sunrise of Elstree for just over 12 months and has flourished in that time. She moved in direct from hospital and was unable to return to her flat and live alone.


She is very happy with the care and cannot speak highly enough about the staff.

I started working in the elderly care sector in 2010 and have been at Elstree View since 2019.


I was promoted from Dementia Care Manager to Deputy Manager in 2022 and to General Manager in 2023.


My background is predominantly in dementia care, and I was extremely proud to complete my postgraduate Master’s in Dementia Studies in 2019.


I am passionate about providing person-centred care for our residents as well as supporting family and friends to be involved in the care of their loved ones.


I find my job hugely rewarding and it is great to work with such a long-serving, committed and caring team here at Elstree View Care Home.

Simona Ciuperca

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2021

My name is Simona Ciuperca and I am the Deputy Manager at Elstree View.


I started with the company in January 2021 as a Residential Care Manager and I am very happy to call Elstree View home.


I first started working in Care Industry in 2010 initially as a Registered General Nurse. Since then, I have grown and developed in the management area, completing my QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care and Leadership.


I feel very passionate about residents’ care and ensuring that high standards are reached and maintained.


Every resident living in our community has a voice and we are here to support their choices while respecting their dignity and providing them with the support they need to start a new life at Elstree View.


As someone who likes to be challenged and has a proven aptitude for providing a high level of professional care with a truly resident-focused approach, I am excited to utilize my management expertise and significant nursing skills to ensure our residents enjoy the best possible lifestyle.

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2022

I started working in the care sector 2014 as a care assistant and have worked in various roles within social care, developing my skills and knowledge along the way. I completed my Level 5 diploma in leadership and management in health and social care in 2019. I have been working at Elstree view since July 2022 as the dementia care manager on The Orchids and can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute.

The reason I am so drawn to working in care is knowing that each day I can make a difference in someone’s day no matter how big or small that difference is. Working as a dementia care manager can be challenging at times but I find it truly rewarding.

Everyone deserves to receive the highest standard of care possible so taking a personal-centred approach is a key part of my work ethic. I am very passionate about working with those who are living with dementia and supporting their families. I will also do everything I can to support my residents and their families.

Job Title: Client Liaison Manager Joined: 2009

I first started working in the care sector in 2009 when I started as a care manager for Elstree View. I have worked my way through different positions within Elstree View over the last 15 years where I have now found myself dealing with all the new enquiries that come into the community which I do enjoy very much.


It is great meeting potential new residents and giving them a tour of our home as well as hearing their stories on how they have come to stay at Elstree, some being sad as well as happy. Kanchan Khattri

Job Title: Business Administrator Joined: 2018

I have been working in a care setting for 20 years and it's been the best choice I made. I had the privilege to grow up with my grandparents around me and cared for my mother, therefore, to me the elderly will always be my family and as such, it felt special walking into this home eighteen months ago. My role as BOC is central to all other departments ensuring the administration function continues to flow smoothly. I am committed to helping the dedicated team, residents and families giving my best at all times. It is always a pleasure when a resident knocks on my door with a query or stops for a chat in the corridor, I enjoy listening to them, I respect them and am always happy to help and bring a smile.

Paula Antonie

Job Title: Dining Room Supervisor Joined: 2014

I am a passionate, caring, approachable and respectful person in everything I do. I love my job and feel loved by everyone, always being asked many times how I keep my infectious smile in everything I do.


I started my job 10 years ago as a housekeeper, going room by room where I felt like I was visiting many homes while still carrying out my duties, having a chat with our residents, offering support and respect. After 8 years as a housekeeper, I was given the opportunity to become a Dining assistant, and then more recently I was offered the position of Dining room supervisor where I feel much appreciation from my colleagues and residents, I feel proud that I can demonstrate my abilities, improve my performance, while spending more time with our residents, and obviously not losing my smile.


I am always considering the residents as my parents, I try to comfort them, reassuring them that I’m here to help because I’m a sensitive person. I’m professional and I care very much.

Julie Ling

Job Title: Reception Manager Joined: 2007

I have been part of the Elstree team since 2007. I started working within the housekeeping team which I very much enjoyed, and I then developed my skills and became part of the care team. This taught me a range of knowledge that has helped me to understand our residents and their needs and preferences. I then became the dining room supervisor which I loved and stayed in this role for 10 Years. I am now the Reception Manager and part of the front-of-house team.


I love meeting and helping people throughout the day.

I’m honoured to work in a great organisation such as this. I have worked for 9 years and 8 months and I’m passionate about delivering high-quality service and very strict on infection control. I have a great and dedicated team under me which I’m very proud of. My goal is to ensure that everywhere in the community is clean, and tidy and that our residents are safe from contracting infections.

Job Title: Maintenance Manager Joined: 2018

I am really pleased and honoured to have joined the elite team here as a Maintenance Manager in 2018, a team which really listens and gets involved in the day-by-day life of the residents. Since starting my career in care in 2005, I gained vast experience, skills, and knowledge, I am happy to apply my DIY skills in a place which I consider not just my home, but my second safe and comfortable one for me and everybody that live and visit our community.


Interacting with residents, having a laugh, a discussion, offering support and attention, it really does make a difference in our and their lives. Every day is different, every day makes my day. Home is where the heart and my toolbox is. Together, we are a family.
