My mother who has dementia and has lost all capacity moved into RCH just over a month ago. i could not be more impressed! the care is second to none. Although mum 'lives in the moment' she is now having a good quality of life. She has company, caring staff, great meals with lots of treats, her nutrition has improved no-end. She is stimulated with activities, kept clean and has a structure to her day, my mind is now at peace knowing mum is safe and well cared for in this fantastic home.

Good afternoon GK thankyou so much for this feedback. I was aware how difficult it was for your family to move Mum in to a care home, it is fantastic mum has settled in so well and that you as a family can relax and have peace of mind.

The manageress of Robert Bean Lodge in Rochester, runs a very good home. There is a calm, pleasant atmosphere, helpful + good natured staff. The residents all seem content + the activity staff really improve the quaity of time for the resident sin a very beneficial way. The office staff member is very helpful, polite + diplomatic + well organised. The manageress takes a keen interest in a comfortable + very friendly manner to all her residents + even to their family + friends. Lovely.

I didn't want Mum in a care home, but after looking after her for more than 10 years I needed help. I felt guilty doing so but the staff didn't just see Mum, they saw I needed reassurance. The staff are outstanding in what is a hard and mentally taxing job. The home is clean, bright and cheerful. Security is also in place, activities, trips, etc all being done to make life worth living and enjoyable. A great care home made even better by all the wonderful staff.

I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The staff are incredibly attentive and respect my mother-in-law's routine, from early morning showers to ensuring her laundry is done same-day. She feels well-fed, safe, and truly cared for. After a poor experience elsewhere, seeing her happy, well-groomed, and out of her room doing activities like coloring is a huge relief. It's a wonderful, professional environment where she is finally being treated with the dignity she deserves.

Overall Experience
My Down syndrome sister went into Rochester Care Home in February and we were extremely apprehensive because she had never been away from home in her entire life. However, the whole team and the other residents at the care home have received her really well and she has fitted in lovely. She has her own room that we have filled with her personal belongings, and it is very clean and well maintained.

She is very happy there and safe and well looked after. The team attend to her every need , she eats good nutritious food, and is kept busy and entertained with the activities. The staff are extremely caring and accommodating, they all display excellent knowledge about their residents and are empathetic and attentive. I feel that I can relax knowing that my sister is being well looked after. The manager, the team and the home itself are all 5 star.

Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased she has settled in with all the staff and the residents. It was very emotional time for her and you when moving her in to Rochester. We do understand your apprehension as your sister has always been with her Mum, she has settled in so well and she has made a lot of friends here.

My mum has been in R.C.H almost 1 year and has flourished there. The staff looked after her well and Mum has a laugh and joke most days, especially with a couple of staff in particular and the manager. Mum is a 'people's person' and is happiest amongst them. The warm, caring atmosphere of R.C.H is perfect. The staff treat Mum with care and respect. Mum enjoys the activities regularly put on and absolutely loves painting and colouring and the music and singing when they have people come in to entertain them. Mum always kept a warm/clean home and she regularly tells me how hard the staff at R.C.H work and how clean they keep it. The food is very good and is enjoyed by Mum.

Our dad was a resident after choosing to make it home after 2 weeks of respite
Dad enjoyed the whole experience, kind friendly supportive staff and management, activities and the meals, his own ensuite room and homely atmosphere.Interacting with other residents.
Unfortunately dad is no longer living here due to unforeseen health issues which staff and management dealt with immediately and got him relevant medical support, we cannot thank them all for the care and joy they bought to his life there.
Would definitely recommend Rochester care home for your family member and family support for relatives .

Thankyou all for everything, much appreciated and so grateful for all your support.

It is a difficult thing to make a decision to put your mum into care, but unfortunately sometimes necessary. The manager and staff are wonderful, understanding and attentive to mums needs and take great care in ensuring she is put first. They are an asset to the world of care and I sleep better knowing my mum is now cared for and safe and my stepdad can rebuild his life and become a husband again not just a carer.

My friend is well cared for by thoughtful, friendly, sincere staff. The provision of stimulating activities is excellent; residents are encouraged to try things, but not forced. I have experienced a therapy dog visit, a quiz, singing, colouring and several other art/craft activities. It is a happy place. Kept beautifully clean, tidy and safe. The lounge is a fairly spacious, light and airy room for residents to socialise (where I meet up with my friend) and my friend's private room is a lovely, quiet, personal space.

Our mum was admitted to rochester care home after a short stay at another home which wasn't meeting her needs and she was deteriorating very quickly. Rochester care home assessed mum and said they could meet her needs and they are most definitely meeting her needs.. Since mum has been admitted to rochester care home she is like a new woman. My brother and I were worried she wouldn't see the rest of the year in the last place. But by some miracle they've got our mum socialising making new friends and joining in the activities. As a family we are soo happy. And mum herself has said she's much happier and the staff are amazing. I live away from Kent and the staff members make sure I get pictures every week to keep me in the loop. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming

I am very happy with the way my mother is treated in the home, her needs are met with care and safe support, she is listened to and is happy to talk to the staff. The staff make a fuss of her and are always kind and thoughtful. Although quite deaf she is interested with all the activities the staff put on her dementia can raise a few problems but they are met with gentle reassurance and support. I am very happy with the home, its residents and staff. Management is always on hand to give guidance.

Mum has moved to the home from Hospital after a fall. She has been settled after just a couple of days.
Staff are friendly - all that I have come into contact with have greeted me with a smile and said hello.
Everywhere is clean and plenty of space to move around.

Love the outdoor space too.

I know that there are activities but I haven't been present when they have been run so not commented. Although I have seen pictures of the residents colouring and having a visit from some animals so presume they are good too.
