Visited Mam in the home, lovely place Mam is in. People are friendly, staff are very helpful and approachable. The manager is very helpful with questions we needed answers to.

Mam is very happy in the home, she joins in all activities and tells some good stories to the staff. Mam is safe, has 24/7 care and that gives me peace of mind that my mam is well cared for and looked after.

It is such an anxiety when you choose a care facility for a loved one. We fell on our feet with Rochester Care Home. They really cared for my uncle. He was so happy. He had activity sessions and celebrated special occasions. The staff cared for him, danced and sang with him and were wonderful with us too.

From when my mother-in-law entered the home, the staff have treated her with respect and kindness. When we visited, prior to her moving in, she was introduced to the chef to see if she would like the food; she did! She has now been a resident for a few years and she loves the various entertainment and fun things they do. She loves the staff and the friends she has made.

It was my mother in laws 100th birthday this month and my husband and I would like to thank the staff for making it a very special day. From start to finish the residents joined in games and singing, were treated to a fantastic spread and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. The carers at Rochester treat the residents with respect and support the families through difficult times. Thank you all.

My mother was 100 this month. The staff, led by the manager, gave her the most wonderful day. They went above and beyond and my family can't thank them enough for making an already special occasion, more special. We see and appreciate the care they give to all their residents, throughout the year, treating them with dignity and respect. Thank you.

I want to thank you for all the care and support you gave my mum while she was there with you!
Every time I came up to visit Mum all the staff were kind and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
When I've been there with Mum the staff were always bringing drinks around for residents and constantly checking that they were drinking them as well!
Some would be doing exercises, some would be going for a haircut, there was always something going on which was nice to see!
I must also say how clean I always found the place which must be difficult with all that has to be done in the day!
You all showed the utmost respect, kindness and care to her during her final weeks of life.
It was comforting to know that Mum was very happy living there!

A big thank you to you all.

My mum is a resident at Rochester Care Home and was recently in hospital for almost three weeks following a fall. She was in bed for most of the time and did not get much physio to help her walk. Rochester Care Home came to assess her to see if she could return to the home, but she was asleep and could not be roused. The hospital then told them that she would need to be moved to a nursing home. We disagreed and asked if Rochester Care Home would come to do another assessment. Mum has advanced dementia and has problems with her speech, so we wanted her to return to Rochester Care Home where she knows the staff and they are aware of her needs. Rochester Care Home did another assessment and agreed to take her back, so she is now back in familiar surroundings with people she recognises. We are very relieved that we did not have to move her to somewhere new, which would have been very stressful for her, and for us.

Hi,

Thank you, we do understand we may need to reassess residents at hospital a couple of times, as they are in a different environment which can disorientate them more than usual, it is so nice to have her back in Rochester Care Home.

Mum is well looked after and cared for in this comfortable home. They keep us informed and have a useful regularly-updated presence on social media. It's particularly useful that you can video call a resident. Life events are celebrated, and visitors are welcomed.

Review from D N (Cousin of Resident) published on 22 April 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I am deeply grateful to the manager and the dedicated team of carers at Rochester Care Home who have looked after my cousin so wonderfully these last two years. The epidemic has obviously added enormously to their burden, but their care hasn't faltered for a second. Amazing! The recent easing of visiting restrictions meant we were at last able to celebrate my cousin's 99th birthday appropriately. The Rochester Care Home team were fabulous, providing decorations, birthday cake and even afternoon tea for our little party. To add to the fun, at long last they were able once again to welcome outside entertainment in the form of an excellent singer and saxophonist to perform for the residents and visitors alike. There was quite a lot of singing and even a little dancing, with the staff making sure everyone had a fine time. They put so much time and effort into the occasion and should be very proud of themselves for creating such a delightful day. Thank you so much for making my cousin's birthday so special.

Review from Pamela D (Next of Kin) published on 13 April 2022 Submitted via Website

After the past two years, it was a joy to see the long awaited relaxing of the Covid restrictions allowing the enthusiasm of the staff to celebrate chance occasions. Their kindness and thoughtfulness in sharing festivities for my visit from afar to see my Godmother/cousin, and for a long term dear friend [to both her and to the care home] was a delight.

The lovely staff show constant care for my almost 99yr old - and she has responded so very well, including through one or two ups and downs health-wise, and is indeed really happy and content. She continues to love the meals, has her hair done regularly, and so enjoys visits from friends and family.
I do appreciate the patience and welcome too that I receive from the manager and her staff.

Thank you all!

Under the professional management and extremely competent staff, my wife has received the best friendly, patient, and efficient care I could have hoped for during her time period in the home. Before she sadly died, the family could see that she was contented and comfortable in the home.

Like many of her generation, my mother-in-law valued her independence and feared the prospect of long-term care, however because of her deteriorating health she recently had to move into Rochester Care Home. The care that my mother-in-law has received has been of the highest standard and the staff are all friendly, helpful, and attentive. The home itself is very clean, well maintained and the food is very good. However, most importantly my mother-in-law is safe, warm, and her general health has greatly improved, it’s great to see her looking so much better, so much more like her old self. That is really a testament to the quality of this home, so thank you to the Manager and your team for providing such excellent care and looking after her so well

The manager and her team have been so supportive and kind from day one of my mum's arrival at Rochester care home. My mum settled very well after the first night and shows no signs of anxiety or worry. The staff are so attentive and caring. It was one of the hardest decisions we had to make as a family to put our mum into a care home but with support from the caring staff we know we made the right choice.
