Rochester Care Home has created a relaxed and homely environment for all residents.

The building is single-storey and purpose-built with four areas. Each area had 14 bedrooms around a lounge/diner. Residents are welcome to join in activities in any of the areas. There’s plenty of space to sit outside at Rochester – residents have a choice of gardens and courtyards to enjoy.

CQC has given Rochester a rating of ‘Good’ (March 2017).

There are 56 bedrooms at Rochester. Many of the bedrooms look out or have direct access to one of the gardens.

All rooms have en-suites or washbasins in the room. The rooms without an en-suite have accessible shower rooms and bathrooms nearby.

Each bedroom’s front door is a different colour, with a door knocker, which makes it more recognisable. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms.

Personal possessions help residents feel at home, and provide extra stimulation and time for reminiscence. They also give staff an important understanding of a resident’s personality, history and what’s important to them.

Trips out include the garden centre, and even the pub on occasion, if that’s what residents choose to do that day.

Animals are always really popular visitors at Rochester. As well as therapy dogs, they have larger four-legged friends in. On a sunny day, the garden is a great spot for residents to have an ice cream, followed by cuddles with a Shetland pony or a donkey!

Rochester has church visits every week and often have local schoolchildren coming into sing. A local consultant and his family come and volunteer.

My mum has recently come to Rochester Care Home. For us, her family have peace of mind the care she receives has made it easier for us to come to terms with. The staff have been great!
The home is welcoming and friendly. Our mum has settled better than we could have imagined. We have peace of mind
that mum has the care and support and her needs are fulfilled. This is a lovely home and would recommend this to other people.

The manager and the whole team have been absolutely fantastic with my lovely Mum, who was recently diagnosed with Alziemers.
She loves all the staff, especially certain members of course, and they're always happy and open with us. Mum is quite "with it" most of the time, so she often helps the other
residents, with staff making sure all's OK. Mum has also been baking in the main kitchen and arranged flowers for reception and communal areas.
We can honestly say that Mum has utterly thrived since being here, and feels she has a group friends around. Her vocabulary has improved too.

All I can say is that I couldn't ask for a better home for my wife.
The management and carers are excellent in their care for all the residents and my wife is very happy here but like sometimes do have their bad days. Then for a lift, the carers and entertainment visitors keep residents occupied.

Mum is finding it very hard to settle in but staff have been very good with her and attending to her care needs. Her room is clean and airy. The staff and manager are very helpful and friendly and always make us feel welcome when we come and visit mum.

My friend was recently taken into the care home, suffering from Alzheimers. He was quite distressed and disorientated but within a week has settled really well, looking happy, content and much healthier. This is all due to the care and interactive support of the kind staff. The manageress goes out of
her way to make it a home from home.


Also helping the relatives and friends adapt to a sometimes upsetting time.

I cannot recommend this care home enough. The staff are kind, caring and patient. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming and my mother is treated with respect and courtesy. The food is excellent with endless supplies of tea, coffee and juice. The rooms are clean and tidy with a keen eye for neatness.
All residents are valued and treated with dignity. There is lots of interaction with staff and much humour is heard around the home. My mother is so happy there and her health and wellbeing have improved since receiving the wonderful care from every member of staff.

Visited the home for the first time to see my mother. She was looked very well and seemed very comfortable in her surroundings. She loves the entertainers that perform at the home from time to time. All the staff are caring and I was impressed with everyone I came into contact with. I feel relieved
that we were able to find my mother safe accommodation where she would be well cared for. Happy with the care home.

My friend has had a lovely time enjoying his 90th Birthday with his family and friends enjoying sandwiches, cakes, sausages, sausage rolls and much more. A truly lovely day with so much effort and

kindness.
