Hello, my name is Ali and I am the Home Manager at Derwent Care Home. I thoroughly enjoy the daily challenges that come with my role and take pride in recruiting a strong team that delivers high-quality care to our residents. It brings me great satisfaction to add value to our care services and enhance the lives of our elderly residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
I am passionate about providing the same level of care to our residents as I would expect for my own parents. With over 10 years of experience in independent care companies, I have worked with adults who have acquired dementia, challenging behaviour and nursing. I hold qualifications as an Assistant
Practitioner, Dementia Championship, Leadership, and Management.
Making a positive difference in people's lives is my biggest achievement throughout my career. I am committed to continuous development to ensure that the individuals I care for receive the best possible care and life enrichment in their later years.
I began my career in accounts and finance before transitioning into care home administration in 2007, when I became the Administrator at a care home in Staplehurst. I enjoyed the variety of the role, which combined my background in finance and administration with the rewarding experience of interacting with residents. Having always loved the sea, I moved to St Leonards and commuted to Staplehurst for several years before joining Derwent Care Home in 2024. I'm now fortunate enough to be able to walk to work each day and to be part of a kind and caring team, working alongside our lovely residents and, of course, Minty the cat!
