Elmcroft Care Home is a 60-bedroom facility that was opened in 2008 in order to specialise in a wide range of care needs, including for people with long and short-term care needs, and people with dementia or physical disabilities.

The aim of a highly-trained team of staff is to maintain a homely and hygienic environment, that residents can enjoy a varied day-to-day lifestyle in, while adhering to the highest standards of modern care regulations.

Personal freedoms are encouraged within the service and Elmcroft is located close to both Brighton and Worthing, which allows for many popular outings throughout the year.

We always felt that my mum was in safe hands. All staff went out of their way to attend to her needs and treated her with kindness and compassion.

My partner has been in Elmcroft for almost 3 months. The decision was made as I could no longer provide the care he needed. From day 1 I have found Elmcroft to be very welcoming. The food is brilliant and my partner is very happy.

My mother has been in Elmcroft for respite and assessment by social services. We were both very happy with all aspects of the home and care provided. She was sorry to leave today when she moved to her new permanent home.

My mum spent 2 and half years at Elmcroft and loved every minute of it. She was very ill with Huntington’s Disease and had 2 different types of cancer, however, my mum still classed herself as lucky because the staff looked after her so well.
She was always looked after in a very dignified manner.
As
a family member, it was such a relief to know that mum was looked after so well and when I left after visiting mum, I knew she was in such safe hands.
I would highly recommend New Elmcroft to anyone.

With no previous experience of a care home, I am very pleased that my husband is a resident at present in New Elmcroft. All the staff are extremely helpful and very caring of my husband and always friendly and cheerful, this helps us so much. We have been on an outing, where we were well looked after
and really enjoyed, it was like a tonic for us both.

My husband and I came down to visit our brother-in-law.
We had difficulty finding the nursing home but on arrival, were met by the manager who made us so very welcome and made us tea and biscuits. All the staff were so friendly and the atmosphere of the home with country western music playing was so
"homely". We took my sister to see her husband (she is in another care home) and the staff gave us a quiet room to be together. Thank you for a very enjoyable visit.

Dad thrived at New Elmcroft during his week's respite care. He was engaged, through activities and staff, stimulated and cared for. He ate so well, he put on half a stone, a minor miracle. The staff were not only kind to him but to us, his family, who were upset at him having respite but now we are
firmly of the opinion we would not want him to be anywhere else for respite or full-time care. Thank you so much.

My father was very fortunate to be given a place at Elmcroft Shoreham. The manager/nurses and staff went above and beyond to care for my father during his last 10 days and also supported and cared for the family and nothing was too much trouble. They allowed us to treat my dad's new home as our home,

New Elmcroft is a comfortable and friendly home. The staff have time for my mother and seem to genuinely care for her.
They take care of her clothes and there are often flowers in her room despite her advanced dementia.

Staff 1st class. Room clean, tidy and En-suite perfect. Lounge roomy and fresh. Home well run, all staff friendly, helpful and well trained. Would recommend Elmcroft to anybody in the Shoreham-by Sea area that was looking for this sort of care.

My father was a resident in Elmcroft for two years. I attended many events and still do as I am always made to feel welcome and I know some of the other residents and relatives.
The staff put a lot of effort into events and ensure the residents are included. It is a pleasure to see residents enjoying

I enjoy the challenges associated with being part of such a large, lovely diverse family. I am constantly learning and being challenged to be the best that I can be.

Hello and welcome to Elmcroft! My name is Estelle and I am the deputy manager here. I started working in healthcare whilst completing my Psychology master’s degree at Sussex University back in 1995. At that time I was a support worker in a residential dementia unit. My passion for assisting people living with dementia grew from there. Over time I progressed to team Leader, and then resource manager within Brighton and Hove Council. In 2008, before Elmcroft was even opened, I successfully interviewed for a team leader role. I was one of the very first recruits and I have worked in Elmcroft since day one and what a brilliant journey it has been! I worked as a team leader until 2015 when I became the deputy manager.


I derive such joy from making each day special for the people under my care. I love that each day is different and brings new exciting opportunities. The prospect of meeting new people, and getting to know them makes every day special. I have enjoyed supporting staff growth and development. I am passionate about training and feel privileged as I am the named dementia trainer in Elmcroft. My background in psychology enables me to support families faced with the difficult decision of leaving their loved ones in a care home. It is also beneficial to staff in my capacity as a mental health first aider in Elmcroft.

Theresa Mcarthur

I joined Elmcroft in 2002 as a support worker. I moved to New Elmcroft once the new build was completed, 16 years ago this year. In 2010 I became one of the service administrators.


My job is very varied dealing with many aspects regarding staff, residents and relatives as well as outside professionals.


I am always happy to help with anything that I can, taking part in many events over the years, all hopefully to help maintain a happy and healthy environment, especially for our residents.

Hi and welcome to New Elmcroft. My name is Katy and I am part of a two-person team in the Admin Office. Together we handle the day-to-day running of the office and offer a friendly greeting to anyone coming into the home.
