My father was very fortunate to be given a place at Elmcroft Shoreham. The manager/nurses and staff went above and beyond to care for my father during his last 10 days and also supported and cared for the family and nothing was too much trouble. They allowed us to treat my dad's new home as our home, for which we will be forever grateful.

New Elmcroft is a comfortable and friendly home. The staff have time for my mother and seem to genuinely care for her.

They take care of her clothes and there are often flowers in her room despite her advanced dementia.

My father was a resident in Elmcroft for two years. I attended many events and still do as I am always made to feel welcome and I know some of the other residents and relatives.

The staff put a lot of effort into events and ensure the residents are included. It is a pleasure to see residents enjoying themselves.

One of the main things we liked about Elmcroft when we looked around was the homely, caring feeling the home has.
This proved to be right - the staff at Elmcroft gave the best care to my dad whilst he was a resident.
They treated him with dignity and respect and really got to know him.
My dad loved being at Elmcroft and the staff who looked after him.

Thank you!

I am very happy that my Dad is at Elmcroft.
He is very settled, happy and well looked after and the staff are caring, pleasant and attentive.
After caring for my Dad over the last few years myself, which became very difficult for him and for me, it was a hard decision to make for him to go into residential care, but I couldn't be happier now and Elmcroft is the best place he could possibly be.

Well done to everyone!

One year since mum moved into Elmcroft - (one year since my first review submitted, one month after she moved in) and I'm very pleased to say, there's no change from my first appraisal.
It's all very good - excellent, in fact.
Like any successful team, everyone works as they should from the team on the front line through the chain of command to the management.
Dementia is not an easy condition deal with - let's face it, mums not easy to deal with but she's in no better care than with her carer's at Elmcroft.

Huge mega thanks.

My mother had been a resident for over 10 years.
Regarded Elmcroft as her home 99% of the time she was cared for with kindness and respect.
In her last few weeks, mum needed a lot more care the staff were wonderful.
I stayed for many nights and nothing was too much trouble for the staff they made me feel welcome.

Mum had a very peaceful death. I cannot thank the staff enough.

My father was in Elmcroft for 22 months and died from Alzheimer's on 11th March 2017. My father's behaviour was extremely challenging but Elmcroft treated him with dignity and care. This home is suitable for as many reasons in that the rooms are spacious and the ensuite wetrooms as well. The home provides plenty of room to walk around and the food is varied and plentiful guests/relatives are always welcome. The staff are varying and kind my dad was in good hands.

This home is a very good and well-run home. clean, quite and bright in fact I would even stay there myself when I get to that age, staff are well mannered and kind.

The only thing that is negative is I wish that we had more time to see mum before she passed away because I needed about half an hour to get there 5 to 10 minutes was not enough time other than that a very good home.

Estelle Ramet
Estelle RametJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2008

Hello and welcome to Elmcroft! My name is Estelle and I am the deputy manager here. I started working in healthcare whilst completing my Psychology master’s degree at Sussex University back in 1995. At that time I was a support worker in a residential dementia unit. My passion for assisting people living with dementia grew from there. Over time I progressed to team Leader, and then resource manager within Brighton and Hove Council. In 2008, before Elmcroft was even opened, I successfully interviewed for a team leader role. I was one of the very first recruits and I have worked in Elmcroft since day one and what a brilliant journey it has been! I worked as a team leader until 2015 when I became the deputy manager.

I derive such joy from making each day special for the people under my care. I love that each day is different and brings new exciting opportunities. The prospect of meeting new people, and getting to know them makes every day special. I have enjoyed supporting staff growth and development. I am passionate about training and feel privileged as I am the named dementia trainer in Elmcroft. My background in psychology enables me to support families faced with the difficult decision of leaving their loved ones in a care home. It is also beneficial to staff in my capacity as a mental health first aider in Elmcroft.

I joined Elmcroft in 2002 as a support worker. I moved to New Elmcroft once the new build was completed, 16 years ago this year. In 2010 I became one of the service administrators.

My job is very varied dealing with many aspects regarding staff, residents and relatives as well as outside professionals.

I am always happy to help with anything that I can, taking part in many events over the years, all hopefully to help maintain a happy and healthy environment, especially for our residents.

Hi and welcome to New Elmcroft. My name is Katy and I am part of a two-person team in the Admin Office. Together we handle the day-to-day running of the office and offer a friendly greeting to anyone coming into the home.

The best part of my job is interacting with the home residents and their loved ones, making sure that I am available to help with anything needed and always with a big smile.
