Elmcroft Care Home is a 60-bedroom facility that was opened in 2008 in order to specialise in a wide range of care needs, including for people with long and short-term care needs, and people with dementia or physical disabilities.

The aim of a highly-trained team of staff is to maintain a homely and hygienic environment, that residents can enjoy a varied day-to-day lifestyle in, while adhering to the highest standards of modern care regulations.

Personal freedoms are encouraged within the service and Elmcroft is located close to both Brighton and Worthing, which allows for many popular outings throughout the year.

The standard of care in New Elmcroft is exemplary from the office staff to the management someone is always available to talk about concerns. It's so clean and the food is good. Overall it makes me so happy to have my husband in the care of such wonderful staff who genuinely care about their patient's

My dad is in New Elmcroft and it is the most wonderful home. My dad is happy, the staff are wonderful and they have a wonderful rapport with my dad.
I feel that they really know him well. The home is very clean and welcoming. It is bright and the atmosphere is so friendly. I cannot recommend New Elmcroft
enough. I leave from every visit feeling relaxed, knowing he is in safe hands.

New Elmcroft continues to meet and exceed my expectations on almost every front, particularly the care and clinical/medical side. The centre is always spotlessly clean, the food is excellent and staff attentive.


If there was one thing I would wish for it would be that New Elmcroft had its own minibus

so that short day or 1/2 day excursions could be more frequent.

I attended the residents Christmas party in December 2018. Wonderful food, very good party with live music. Staff dressed as Santa's helpers - a real effort was made by everybody to join in the festivities. Some residents were dancing and many joined in with the singing. All had good fun.


The staff

at New Elmcroft really do go the extra mile, make the last years of these elderly folk as pleasant and homely as possible. I honestly think the residents have a better social life than me!

On arriving at New Elmcroft for the first time, my partner was apprehensive, tearful but within a few hours, the nurses and carers had her feeling at home and over her 3 day stay, she settled in, made friends and enjoyed her stay. To Elmcroft staff, all are very professional and they are a credit to
you. All are so kind and caring. You do not need 200 words, just one EXEMPLARY.

Good purpose-built residential home. Bright and cheerful staff. Good one to one attention between staff and residents and good activities. My mother spent a weeks respite stay which was an experience for her. She was I think the only resident who could move around on her own. Perhaps not the best place
for observation. A lot of food thrown away. Suggest smaller portions for residents.

My friend was sent to New Elmcroft as respite care for one week. During that time I visited on 4 occasions and was impressed with the fabric and cleanliness of the facility but above all with the knowledge, skills and attitude of all grades of staff. He developed a VTI after admission and this was professionally
dealt with promptly and the appropriate care given.
My profession for a few years was that of a registered nurse and laterally inspecting nursing homes in Scotland. I am impressed with the service you give.

My husband has been here for respite for three weeks this year (3 times). He has always been relaxed about coming back and when I have spoken to him on the phone he is always calm. I cannot speak highly enough about the standard of care he always receives and the rooms (private and public) are clean
and well maintained. The staff are helpful and ready to go that extra mile. An excellent care home.

This has been my first stay in a care home and I have found the time and experience above and beyond any preconceived any expectations I may have had.

Hello and welcome to Elmcroft! My name is Estelle and I am the deputy manager here. I started working in healthcare whilst completing my Psychology master’s degree at Sussex University back in 1995. At that time I was a support worker in a residential dementia unit. My passion for assisting people living with dementia grew from there. Over time I progressed to team Leader, and then resource manager within Brighton and Hove Council. In 2008, before Elmcroft was even opened, I successfully interviewed for a team leader role. I was one of the very first recruits and I have worked in Elmcroft since day one and what a brilliant journey it has been! I worked as a team leader until 2015 when I became the deputy manager.


I derive such joy from making each day special for the people under my care. I love that each day is different and brings new exciting opportunities. The prospect of meeting new people, and getting to know them makes every day special. I have enjoyed supporting staff growth and development. I am passionate about training and feel privileged as I am the named dementia trainer in Elmcroft. My background in psychology enables me to support families faced with the difficult decision of leaving their loved ones in a care home. It is also beneficial to staff in my capacity as a mental health first aider in Elmcroft.

I joined Elmcroft in 2002 as a support worker. I moved to New Elmcroft once the new build was completed, 16 years ago this year. In 2010 I became one of the service administrators.


My job is very varied dealing with many aspects regarding staff, residents and relatives as well as outside professionals.


I am always happy to help with anything that I can, taking part in many events over the years, all hopefully to help maintain a happy and healthy environment, especially for our residents.
