Green Willow is an outstanding residential care home - the staff are knowledgeable, caring and always look out for the best interests of the residents. Despite being 4000 miles away I am fully informed. Both of my parents resided at Green Willow, my mother recently passed away. The staff have gone out of their way to be supportive and caring. I feel at peace knowing that my loved ones will spend their last years here.
The manager came to see me in hospital to assess the suitability for my needs. I felt her warmth, compassion and understanding straight away. On my arrival, she welcomed me and showed me to a lovely room upstairs. Beautiful and peaceful, lovely view of the garden and pond. All the staff have been lovely, able to chat, help and do everything possible to make my stay the supportive rest and recuperation I needed. My appetite has improved thanks to very nicely prepared and presented fresh food.
My uncle moved into Green Willow Residential Home in October 2017. He enjoyed very much being cared for in such a warm, caring and professional manner. The staff always went the extra mile for him which he appreciated. Sadly my uncle's health deteriorated in April but the staff at Green Willow Residential Home cared for him so compassionately until he passed away in May. He had been surrounded by lovely staff and they provided comfort and understanding at a time he needed this the most. We will always be grateful for the care he received at Green Willow Residential Home. It is a wonderful home in my opinion.
Sadly, after 4 years residence at Green Willow, I have had to move my Aunt to a nursing home due to her severe dementia. In that time I cannot speak more highly of the kindness and excellent standard of care shown by all the staff at Green Willow. The home was so welcoming and jolly, a testament to the energy of the outstanding manager. Despite my Aunt's failing health, she was given much encouragement to engage with activities at the home. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your response, we miss your Aunt hugely and always try to meet residents' needs for as long as possible. We are so glad that you found the home welcoming - we are very proud of our fabulous staff team and their ability to make the house a home. Best wishes, Josie.
Well managed and with young and friendly staff, we always felt welcome when visiting and appreciated the home comfort style of the public rooms. Initially, my mother had a lovely room with patio door access to the garden. More recently, as her needs increased, she was moved to a large but more secluded room initially very homely furnished but slowly changed to more nursing home style.
My mother loved the dining room where seating at small tables was arranged to match compatible residents. There is a menu choice and without exception, the food was well cooked and well presented as though served at a hotel.
This is a small, well run, clean and friendly home that I am pleased to recommend to anyone who can afford such good care.
My mother was in Green Willow Care Home for 8 1/2 years. Over that period her dementia steadily increased, as did her care needs. The care she received from the lovely Green Willow staff was exemplary. Even when she became increasingly confused, often thinking she was in a hotel, she would tell me how nice it was, how good the staff were and how excellent the food. Her room was a good size and in the early days she enjoyed being able to walk straight into the pretty garden. The staff were so kind to Mum and clearly fond of her which was a great comfort.
After having looked at many care homes in the Bognor Regis area without success in respect of respite care for my 93-year-old father, I found Green Willow Residential Home in the West Sussex care guide. As soon as I walked in I realised this was right for dad. The management and staff are very caring and friendly, it was clean and bright. The room was larger than others I had seen. Dad spent a week at Green Willow's whilst I was away and was happy there. He had no complaints whatsoever and would be happy to return in the future.
The staff at Green Willow Residential Home are uniformly excellent. In the many years my mother has been a resident there, I have only seen members of staff exercise the utmost care and want the very best for each resident. They show a real love for their work which they go about with good humor and dedication.
My father is extremely well looked after and happy. Green Willows is a peaceful and tranquil place to be - it is like home from home.
My father says this is the 'best decision he ever made' to come in here.
The staff and accommodation is second to none. Riley is Dad's favourite dog.
In my opinion, the management is unbeatable. The manager has her eye on everything that goes on, nothing is missed. To my mind, the manager is what sets this home apart. We visited many homes before making our choice and found Green Willows to be excellently well led. She chooses good staff who are always friendly and helpful. We could visit and be welcomed at any time. Green Willows is very clean and the food is very good as are the gardens and entertainment. We are extremely grateful to the manager for making us feel more secure about leaving my mother in this safe environment. Staff always welcomed us with tea, cake and a smile. So a big thank you all round.
Green Willow is a fantastic home. Out of the 33 I visited, this was by far the best suited to my grandmother. Relaxed, kind, home cooked food, great staff and a fantastic manager. Everything runs "ship shape". The rooms are pleasant and the facilities excellent for the space. This really is a tip-top home.
Thank you for your lovely review. We value our brilliant staff team who provide such a great service.
The staff were excellent displaying great patience and kindness to all the residents.
My room was very pleasant, looking out on a lovely garden. The food was second to none.
After a 'home inspection', I was accepted for a trial week at Green Willow. A menu, list of activities and financial arrangements okay'ed I was greeted happily and conducted to a very suitable room. All staff knew who I was and every effort was made to ensure that I was escorted to the dining room and introduced to table companions.
Everyone was helpful and willing - just a 'new boy' would want, I extended my stay for another week to get a greater depth of general feeling. In spite of contracting a cough/cold bug (which was quickly attended to by a doctor with medication) meant that my stay was more enjoyable than anticipated. I now know where to find a comfortable and very caring environment.
I am very grateful to all the staff at this care home for providing a caring and compassionate service and for ensuring that my father retained his dignity, even during all final days.
My mother was reluctant to make the move to a care home but quickly came to absolutely love the care she received here. The staff were consistently professional but loving and always interested in mum. She felt safe and looked after and part of the group. The staff always kept us informed about Mum's needs and we could pop in at any time and there was always a warm welcome. Her safety and her physical and emotional well-being were always important to the staff and that meant we could all relax and just enjoy her enjoying her surroundings. The garden was wonderful - and for a gardener like her, that was so important. She liked to joke and everyone would joke with her. The activities were well supported and organised. There was just a lovely, homely atmosphere, and, as much as it could be, it felt like home from home. So thank you for giving her a wonderful closing chapter.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are all extremely nice. There's entertainment going on in the home several times a week for the residents, and we feel our friend could not be in a better place.
I have known Green Willow for four years - residents are treated with respect and dignity. Family and friends are welcomed warmly. All staff are friendly, yet very professional and do everything they can to make residents feel comfortable and at ease. The grounds and gardens are really delightful, together with an outstanding programme of events and activities. I would certainly recommend a visit to Green Willow to fully appreciate all that is has to offer.
I came here for ten days following a full replacement knee operation. I have been looked after well by an attentive, cheerful and willing care team, contributing to a good early recovery programme. I have been extremely comfortable and happy with the service here.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Green Willow and appreciate your positive feedback.
This has been an excellent home for my aunt for over 2 years, until her death on 28 February 2016. Although she had dementia she was able to enter into activities and was generally respected and cared for by all the staff. The manager was particularly helpful in welcoming her back to the home after a spell in hospital. She was able 'to come home to die'. The food was exceptional and my aunt really did love being there and counted it as her home.
My aunt was resident at Green Willow until she recently and sadly passed away. This was her home and she was very happy during her stay for just over 2 years. All the staff were very caring and were always there to look after residents in a friendly and supportive way. Overall very satisfied with our experience of Green Willow. Thank you to all.

Meet the Team (5)

I am the Operations Director of Kew Care Group and I support all the residents and the teams of staff at our four homes. I visit the homes regularly to check quality, to offer support and to share new initiatives.
I am a physiotherapist by training and I have always loved working with the elderly. I went back to the NHS after having kids but decided that Care Homes would give me the perfect flexibility and the group started in 2002. I love my job and the ever-evolving challenges that it brings. My husband Dominic works in the City of London and he is also a director of the Care Home business. His skills ensure that the homes run like clockwork and meet all the right budgets.I also love my family and my children Luke and Grace who are moving into teenage-hood and keeping me on my toes. We also have a dog and a cat. I love walking and working in my garden. We go on holiday to Portugal every year and love travelling further afield when we can.
The best piece of advice that I have ever read is in a quote from Maya Angelou – “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel” and I try to remember this at work and at home!

I am Helen Haughton, I support the Homes in the Kew Care Group as Operations Manager.
I started working in health & social care in 2001. When I graduated from Cardiff University with a BA Education, I initially wanted to teach but fell in love with elderly care and joined Kew Care Group in 2008 shortly after the purchase of the Home. I later achieved my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in 2013.
I was Registered Manager at Cleeve Lodge for 10 years and then handed over the reins to Risa. I left on a high though after achieving an Outstanding rating from CQC!
The best piece of advice that I was once given was to teach and mentor others and they will be the best reflection of you.

I have worked for Kew Care Group for 12 years. In January 2019 I was promoted to Business Operations Manger and now look after the finances in the 4 Homes within the Group. I previously worked at Cleeve Lodge initially as a Administrator, which I loved. I also got involved in the activities for the residents and enjoyed going out on outings with them. I have currently past my NVQ 3 in leadership and management. I enjoy working for Kew Care group as it has a very personal approach to staff and promotes a homely feeling in each of their Homes.
I have been married for 21 years to Gary and have two boys aged 17 and 15 years old. I enjoy family time when not working which consists of holidays, weekends away and spectating both my children playing football. I don’t particularly like football but really enjoy supporting them on the side line even if I do embarrass them sometimes not knowing the rules of the game!!!
Someone asked me, if I had a choice what would I choose in life to be Wealthy, Healthy or Happy. I chose happy because if you are always happy nothing much else matters.

Hi, I’m Amy, Manager of Green Willow a small home in West Sussex near the sea! We support residents over 65 with short stays where needed, or if daily support is required and individuals have made the hard decision to stay here permanently. We are very much an extended family to the residents and staff, we share in each other's joys and celebrations and are there through the sadder times. Our annual Jazz In the Garden festival is known widely throughout the community!
I started working at Green Willow in 2015 as a care assistant before taking on the Manager role in 2020. I grew up in a family that worked in health and social care, which supported me in undertaking my Level 5 in leadership and management.
I have two young boys, Theodore & Zachary who are 3 & 1 years old, who regularly visit the home, and join in with the many wonderful activities our home has to offer, I’m passionate about inter-generational activities and love that my children can have a positive impact on those I look after. One of my favourite quotes is “Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world” from the BFG - Roald Dahl, often we forget that one small interaction can change the course of someone’s entire day for the better, and is one of the many reasons I started working in care from the age of 17.

I started at Green Willow as part of the housekeeping, before moving onto the care team and then being promoted to Team Leader focusing on care quality within the home and working my way up to Deputy Manager. I’m a caring person who’s always liked to help others. I love getting to know new things about the residents and learning new things myself. I have a son Aaron whom I’m very proud of I love going to the air arena with him. I previously trained as a hairdresser and still enjoy doing hair occasionally. My favourite quotes are: “If it’s not recorded it didn’t happen” & “There’s no I in team”.
