Overall Experience
Our family is currently incredibly disappointed with the continued failure of the care home to abide by the agreed care plan for our mother.
Staff repeatedly fail to fit hearing aids on a daily basis, leaving our mother struggling to hear.
Teeth are not cleaned and maintained on a daily basis.
A doctor's appointment has been requested on multiple occasions, yet to be confirmed.
Her room often has an unpleasant smell.
Bins are frequently full of rubbish and dirty cups and dishes are left uncollected.
We are extremely concerned about the poor standards of communication from staff to management and the lack of feedback to the family.
Customer service standards and respectful conversion from staff to family are often questionable.

We expect things to improve.

My dad was a resident at Silver Court from February 2023 up until March 2024. We loved it from the minute we arrived. It is bright and airy and all the staff are so kind and friendly. They were exceptionally sweet to my dad and looked after him so well. My sister and I never felt worried. They really cared for him in his last few days and we will never forget the care they showed. I would not hesitate to recommend Silver Court for your loved one.

My visits are always welcomed with a friendly smile and greeted in a professional manner. There is an obvious warmth and respect that is shown by the carers for all the residents. Dad is treated well and has recently become involved in helping out with the gardening; encouraging him to be active and getting fresh air while having a focus to help keep his mind active.

Staff never greet you with their name on the units. The cleanliness of the unit kitchen is a worry. When staff take out cutlery for you and disinfect it before handing it to you and it is still not clean. Ongoing problem with clothes being thrown in bottom of wardrobe rather than hung up or folded and put into drawers. Nan seems comfortable.

Reply from Abbie Partridge, Manager at Silver Court

Thank you for taking time to review Silver Court as we are pleased your Nan is settled living with us. High quality care for our residents is our priority at Silver Court. I have discussed the highlighted issues with my care and housekeeping team but would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you at a mutually convenient time, to ensure these matters are resolved to your satisfaction.

My nan was at silver court for 19 months. From start to finish staff were kind and supportive to her and the family. It was not an easy decision for any of us when it became clear that it was not safe for Nan to live alone any more. The transition period was not easy but staff were always able to reassure us that things would get better and Nan would become more settled and they were right. The effort all staff make with the entertainment, summer fetes etc is amazing. The staff are patient and caring and knew how to get Nan smiling. They are like a family and welcome you with open arms. When Nan was poorly staff would even pop in to see her on their days off. From my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Silver Court.

The home has a lovely, happy atmosphere. My mum loves the care staff, all of whom are very cheerful all of the time. They also take proactive care of my mum's needs, physically, emotionally and medically. If they detect any medical need, they contact the GP immediately. The staff are all very hardworking and efficient. The care home is bright, cheery and feels spacious.

My mum has been at Silver Court for just over a year and I can honestly say I am in awe of the manager and the team. The staff genuinely love my mum and although she is reluctant to leave her room, they always include her in everything, from crafts to Pat dog sessions, they will make sure to go to her in her room. This August I had my first holiday for four years, I was able to go away safe in the knowledge that Mum was happy and she didn’t miss me at all! Events such as Christmas, the manager and the team always ensure the residents have fun and are all included. I have a lot of experience with care homes through my work and I know I am blessed that Mum is in their care. Mum always looks well cared for and the home doesn’t smell nasty like some do! At this point I would like to mention particular outstanding staff but I can’t as they are all amazing! In what has been the most difficult time of my life they have been there, not only for Mum but for me too, Thank you team Silver Court!

I have been very impressed with Silver Court Care home. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. My relative is very happy here, they regularly tell me how happy they are with Silver Court and how friendly the staff are and how much they care. The food seems to be great quality too.

My Mother has been at Silver Court now for nearly 2 years and I am extremely happy with the care and attention she gets. I could not ask for a better place for Mum to be. Unfortunately, I no longer live in the UK so don't often get a chance to visit but the times I have I can really sense how wonderful all the carers and staff are. Mum is extremely happy there. I do call regularly and they are always very accommodating at organising a video call so I can stay connected with Mum.

Highly recommend.

Silver Court Care Home has been fantastic at providing care for my relative. All staff have been professional, fully invested in their roles and take time to talk and really get to know their residents. The home really does feel like a 'home from home’ with residents able to be themselves and my relative is extremely happy here.

My aunt has been with Silvercourt for almost four years now. Due to her medical condition, the transfer was challenging, and the Silver Court team supported this very professionally, helping my aunt and the family through the transfer.
Since then, the standard of care has been excellent. The level of care for the residents is visible every time I or my relative visit. The communication is open, clear and timely. The standard of cleanliness is very high.

One measure is how often other relatives say how happy they are. In four years, I have not heard any relative complain about anything. I am sure there are day-to-day challenges, but the way the team handles them and strives for the highest standards is outstanding.

When we were looking to find some suitable care for my mother, Silver Court stood out far above the rest - it was one of the only ones where I felt that the residents were treated as residents and not patients. The light and airy single-level building is always clean and feels very homely, and residents have practically unrestricted access to the gardens and are encouraged to get involved with its upkeep - which none of the other homes we looked at offered. Not having the freedom the garden offers would have broken my mother. The staff are truly outstanding, and I cannot fault them at all. They genuinely care a great deal about their residents, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Nobody wants to send a family member to a care home, but I can honestly say that my mother is the happiest she has been in a long time, and that is thanks to the team at Silvercourt.

My father has been at Silver Court for a year now. The building is all on one level, which makes it easy to get around with comfortable rooms and lovely secure grounds. The staff here are amazing and friendly and do an excellent job caring for my father. They often do activities for the residents, and some get taken for afternoon outings, which are nice, and he enjoys. My father loves the food choices here and enjoys his fish n chips on a Friday.
The home is always clean and tidy and feels safe.

Well done to all the team.

I couldn’t have left my partner in better hands. They have an amazing team of carers. It never ceased to amaze me with the love and care shown, especially in her final days when I witnessed care above the call of duty.

A very big thank you to all the team.

The staff at Silver Court are what makes this place so special. I was beginning to realise that I couldn't keep Mum safe and work full-time any longer. From our first viewing, I realised it is a unique home.
The word care is used correctly in this case; every member of staff really does care, and Mum is so happy. It is a beautifully clean place with so many personal touches around. She has made friends when I visit, she is always sitting chatting in the lounge or busy with an activity, and she loves the garden, as do I. As for the conservatory, it's my favourite place too when I visit. Even the dog is welcome when he visits with me.

The last few months could have been so difficult, but Silver Court has made the transition so easy and worry-free.

Our beautiful mum had been living at Silver Court for the past four years; she sadly passed away in March 2023, Mum was put on end-of-life care at the beginning of March, and the lovely staff at Silver Court told us she could come back to the care home from the hospital and they would be honoured to care for her in her last weeks as they have done for the lasts four years.
The staff there were exceptional. Each goes above and beyond their duty for our gorgeous mum.
Mum was very happy there, and she was treated like family by the staff. I and my sisters would wholly recommend Silver Court; they are passionate about the care and love that they give every day.

Thank you, Silver Court, for just being you.

Silver Court welcomed my stepfather with kindness and care and helped him adapt to his new surroundings with understanding and patience. He now seems happy and settled, and this gives my mother and our family comfort, knowing he is getting the care he now needs. We enjoy visiting him in their lovely surroundings and taking him out and about. Silver Court has been a big support to us on what has been a lonely and worrying journey.

My wife has been in four homes before we had a chance to stay in Silver Court. Just a visit made my mind up. It's so good to go home after a visit and know she is safe and when I visit, she always looks great, and the staff are the best, and I know that any problem, they let me know by phone.

I have nothing but praise and thanks for all the staff at Silver Court. Mum's last few weeks were extremely difficult, and she was treated with care and dignity at all times. My only concerns would be the time and effort the staff have to put into contacting the medical practice who are responsible for drugs and pain killers etc. It would be time better spent looking after the residents, but it's no fault of theirs.

My sister-in-law has been a resident in Silver Court for just over a year. Silver Court has the warmth and atmosphere of a true family home. On a personal level, we are amazed at how much more alert and stimulated our relative is now, which is all down to the wonderful care and encouragement shown to her by all the staff. Any support/advice and time were given to us as a family is always available. Nothing is too much trouble for any member of the team. We can't thank them enough.
