After struggling on her own, my mother was admitted with dementia 3 years ago and immediately settled in her new surroundings, being back amongst company certainly helped with this.

I have nothing but high praise for all the staff who are very caring and considerate of the individual needs of the residents and always welcome visitors with a friendly smile. I was always kept updated with any issues that arose with mum, however trivial, which was so reassuring.

All the staff deserve praise but I will give a special mention to her carer who was brilliant in the attentive and supportive care she showed mum. The home is well-run and always kept clean. Lots of entertainment is provided for them to enjoy and even partake in. The food the residents are served is superb. Mum, sadly passed earlier this month, and I was warmed by the sympathy all the staff, who had become friends, showed when I made my final visit. Fitzwilliam Care Home is an excellent facility, run by excellent staff.

The staff care so much for all the residents like they are one of their relatives for many of them there's nothing they won't do, the clothes are washed well and quickly to keep the patients in tip-top looks along with the food which is as good as many hotels would love to serve up, last week on our visit out of nowhere warm homemade doughnuts appeared and the smile on everyone was a pleasure to see.

My wife has dementia and she is without mobility. She has been a resident at Fitzwilliam House for just over two years. During this time, both me and my children have been very happy with the care and kindness shown to my wife. We have been happy and content. I have been very impressed with how all the staff, that is, carers, cooks and cleaning staff, go about their individual tasks to make the Fitzwilliam such a pleasant and well run home.

Having to put my mum into a care home was one of the hardest experiences of my life but the staff at Fitzwilliam House have always been so caring and supportive. They encourage a family atmosphere which permeates the home so that even the residents themselves to the best of their ability look after one another and comfort each other. Everyone is treated with dignity, respect and gentle care and staff go out of their way to meet the resident's needs. There are regular singing, music and bingo activities which are loved by all and whenever there is a birthday it is celebrated with an individually presented cake. The food is of a high standard as is the level of cleanliness and, as a family member, you are always welcomed into the mix. I appreciate being able to visit often and to be able to take mum out for walks and for family occasions. I truly believe that all the staff in the home do their very best to provide an outstanding level of care for which I am very grateful!

The team keep me fully informed regarding the issues with my father and dementia. They are polite, helpful, kind, caring and considerate. The managers are informative, friendly, open and induce open dialogue through trust. It is very hard for me to see my father in a deteriorated state. I am very grateful for their help with him during these last stages of his long life.

The staff are always happy and go the extra mile to keep the residents comfortable and entertained. Such a lovely, caring place; thanks all. It’s not easy to leave a loved one with someone else, but they know everyone really well, their individual likes and dislikes, and give very personalised service.

Our experience with Fitzwilliam House has been amazing! The staff have made the decision and process to move Nan into a home so much easier for both myself and her, most importantly. All the staff have been so welcoming and friendly. Nan has become so much more social and enjoys interacting with the people around her as well as the activities arranged. It’s wonderful to see her making new friends and really showing her real self again. Nan tells me how happy she is every time I visit, and I know if I had any worries, the team would be more than happy to help me. I really appreciate everything Fitzwilliam House has done for Nan!

I would like to thank Fitzwilliam House for always being so kind and compassionate with my father, he sadly passed away but the home and the team were so gentle throughout, I did not live locally so found it difficult to visit often but I always knew he was being looked after well.

I have been very pleased with the care given to my mother for the past year. The staff are all very friendly and efficient and are happy to chat with her. It is lovely now that the Covid restrictions are being relaxed and she can see more of her family, especially her great-grandchildren. I am impressed by the hands-on approach of the manager.

My father could not be happier, he loves the food, the people and most of all the wonderful team.
It is never an easy thing to think about your loved ones going into a care home but the manager and her team made it a better experience, it really is a home from home.

Thank you.

My Nan has recently moved to Fitzwilliam House and we have all been very impressed with the care home. When we've visited, we always get a warm welcome. Nan's room is big enough for what she needs and well decorated with floral wallpaper and matching paint. The home is clean and tidy. We're usually visiting just before lunch and we can often smell the meals when they're ready they smell and look delicious. Nan has joined in with lots since being there including bingo and craft activities for the Jubilee. She is so much happier now she's with people all day.

Wonderful home with such caring staff, a joy to have such dedicated people looking after our older generation. The time spent making short films at Christmas for the residents and the setting up of all activities outside thought out the year is absolutely commendable.

I have been so impressed by the work the staff put in at Fitzwilliam House to make the residents feel at home. They are offered a wide range of activities to join in with and there is a real sense of the community of staff and residents being a family, which those of us who visit occasionally are always welcome to join. The house is very clean and the residents well-presented. Residents enjoy healthy meals and the most magnificent birthday cakes on their special day. A really well-run home that I certainly wouldn't mind living in myself. Thank you to everyone concerned.

My mum has only been living at Fitzwilliam House for 3 weeks, but she is happier and more relaxed than I have seen her in months. She was really struggling with life at home even with 4 care calls a day, she was having frequent falls and trips to A&E. She is back to being my mum again.
