I did not want to move into a care home but I'm very glad that my family chose this one. All of the staff are so friendly and do anything to help you. It is relaxing here. I love to sit outside of my room because I love to be in the fresh air.

The hard decision to move Mum into a care home was made much easier by the care and devotion shown to her by the manager and her team, any worries or concerns are soon laid to rest by a quick chat or text. Mum has found a friend in two members of staff in particular and we always look forward to the updates, Facebook posts and pictures. Her unusual diet has been happily and easily accommodated by the chef which is comforting, as is his food! I am truly grateful that Mum has a new home where she is happy.

Thank you for your kind words, Mum is truly a beautiful soul and caring for her is our honour, you have given us so much support over the last 18 months working with us as a family and team, thank you for all you and the family do to help us promote and deliver the best quality of care we can.

Following the first Anniversary of Grandma moving to Fitzwilliam House, we have looked back and are truly grateful to everyone for the care and support shown to Grams, but also to us as a family. The decision that full-time care was needed was not easy for us, but walking into Fitzwilliam and being shown around it was clear to see Grams could be at home in the well-decorated rooms and beautiful gardens. That, and the knowledge that she really would be safe with great care, made the choice so much easier. None of us could ever have imagined how 2020 and the start of 2021 would play out, and whilst it has been incredibly hard not being able to visit 'normally', we have never doubted the level of care or love Grams and the other residents have been shown in these crazy times. We feel incredibly fortunate that Grams has become part of the Fitzwilliam family and thank the manager and all her Team for everything they have done in looking after everyone's loved ones.

Thank you so much for your kind words, the support you have given to us over the last 18 months has been fantastic and we truly see you all as part of our Fitzwilliam family, lets hope we can have some more normality in our care homes soon so we can have our garden party we have long waited for. I will pass these comments on to the team which will give them so much pride to read.

On the whole mum's 18 months in the home has been happy, she is safe and well cared for. She now seems to look on the staff as her new family whilst this seems hard it is really nice to see. It has been a hard year for everyone but every time we have rung or visited the staff have been only too happy to help. The new decoration is a great improvement but still needs some homely touches i.e. large photos of the residents, just like you would have in your own home. We know there are still some plans ahead for the inside and garden so hope to see these soon. In the future the outside decoration will need some attention otherwise this may put newcomers off. Overall the home its self is warm and friendly and that is what matters. We as a family would like to take this moment to say a big thank you to everyone at Fitzwilliam.

Thank you for your kind words, we are working very hard with our residents to make our home looks the best we can, we have taken some lovely photos with our residents over the last few weeks and will be getting these ready to show on our family gallery wall.

My nan has been in the home for about a year now. She can sometimes snap at the staff if she is feeling frustrated, yet the staff are always so friendly and warm towards her. My nan suffers with dementia, yet she always perks up when certain staff come to see her. It has always looked very clean everywhere, and every member of staff seems extremely intentive.

My Auntie was in a care home in Southend but due to Covid they went out of business so her social worker managed to get her into Fitzwilliam for us. She has settled down remarkably well and is very happy to be there, no mean feat being nearly 92 years old. I cannot tell you how relieved we are that she is now just around the corner and can see her after making an appointment and once this pandemic is over, will be able hopefully to see her more often. I cannot express how grateful we are for the love and care shown to Auntie since her arrival in March. The home rings me with an update for anything that happens out of the ordinary, they absolutely put my mind at rest and for this, I am so grateful to them all. Everyone is so helpful and cheerful, nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend the home to anyone. Thank you.

My wife, who has Alzheimer's, had to move to Fitzwilliam House in early March 2021. I have been very impressed with the professionalism and friendly approach of the staff and their care for both residents and relatives. Because of the Covid situation, my access to the home has been limited to designated visitor spaces, but from what I have seen, all of the facilities are attractive and well maintained and the atmosphere is calm, but very positive and as 'homely' as it can be.

Having not seen my father for 8 months due to COVID restrictions on essential travel only, I was delighted to see him on his birthday in April. The pod that had been set up was easily accessible for both residents and visitors. The environment felt safe for both parties and booking the visiting slot could not have been easier. Thanks to the staff for bringing my pops back to the pod each time he decided to have a little wander off - good to know she was on hand after travelling nearly 2 hours to see him. Thanks for facilitating this visit so readily. Looking forward to my next visit when I can give him a real hug!

My mother has been a resident at Fitzwilliam House for a year now during which time the staff have cared for Mum above and beyond the high standards already set prior to Covid. The love and care they show to residents is truly heart-warming and so reassuring to us.

My husband is treated with kindness and care. The staff have been most helpful to enable me to speak to him on the telephone and visit (socially distanced) during the lockdown. He has settled in very well, and we are both appreciative of the friendliness and support of the staff.

I always find the staff very welcoming and so supportive of the residents. Mum is always happy and has settled so well into Fitzwilliam House. From a sad situation of mum's decline with dementia, I feel she is in the best place. I am so grateful for the care she receives.

Fitzwilliam House was a lovely environment for my mum with dementia. The staff couldn't do enough to help, and the home-cooked was great. Mum was comfortable and happy during her stay, and it was a safe environment.

Whilst Mum did not attend many activities, the ones she did were enjoyable, and Mum was looked after. I can not thank Fitzwilliam House enough for creating such a warm, friendly home.

My mother has only been here a short time but has settled in well. She enjoys all the activities and likes the staff.

Her only small grumble is that it is 'men' that wash her and dress her. She would prefer female.

My mother experiences a very high standard of person-centred care. She is allowed choices about all aspects of her life.
Medical treatment is accessed promptly and appropriately. I am kept well informed of changes to treatment, medication etc.

Her level of care needs vary quickly and these are managed well. I feel she is living in a clean, safe environment.
