Excelcare Glennfield Care Home

Lovely atmosphere, friendly, caring staff who are clearly looking after Grandma well and keeping her comfortable as she is now bedridden due to her advanced dementia. Our last visit was three days ago and our experience of her care hasn't changed at all since she was first admitted - really happy she's in good hands.

My dad has been with Glennfield for over a year. I have already recommended this care home to a friend who has now put her father in their care. I honestly can't fault the care he receives; he is always clean & well tended. The staff are so welcoming & friendly, I now feel that it's my dad's home. The support I receive from the staff is great, they are always friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We visit Graham, we have been very good friends since Peter and Graham were 18 years old and joined the army at the same time. We class ourselves as family and been through many ups and downs together. Our children and grand children have only ever known Graham and his late wife Ellan as Auntie and Uncle. All the staff we have been in contact with have always been polite and very helpful.

He was quite sad when he first went into the home but now with her help he is flourishing

Glennfield Care Home is a lovely home and my Mum is very happy there. All the staff are amazing and they take really good care of her. The kitchen staff, the activities staff, care staff especially. Also, the domestic team, who, in my opinion, don't get half the credit they deserve. I am eternally grateful to them all.

My wife joined Glennfield Care Home in April 2024, having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's in December 2020. My experience of care homes was limited, as I felt I should keep her at home with me as long as I was able. As it turns out, I have been very lucky in choosing Glennfield, the level of care is second to none and I am able to report that my wife now considers this to be her home and is very happy. Well done Glennfield and all the staff!

Staff are always welcoming and friendly. They are always happy to speak with you if concerns arise. I feel mum is well looked after and happy here. Life for mum is kept normal and lots of things arranged socially both in the home and out in the community where she has lived all her life. Very happy with care and support given to her.

We visit my dad every fortnight and each time we visit he is being cared for very well. It is obvious the staff on Bluebell know him well and as such are able to attend to his needs well. Communication from the home to me is frequent and I always feel my dad is safe and as well as can be expected considering his advanced condition of dementia.

My husband was very well looked after, especially by the staff on Snowdrop ward. All the staff were kind, friendly and thoughtful and management was helpful and showed concern.

All the staff are very competent and friendly. Extremely helpful when required. Always a friendly greeting by the staff and you are not ignored. Glennfield Care Home is more like a friendly home than some care homes I've visited. The food is good with a choice and the medicines are well administered.

Although everything I have seen is excellent in every way the only concern I would have is the cost to self-funding residents.

The care my dad receives at Glennfield is great. They are very professional and caring. Nothing is too much trouble on Poppy Wing!

The staff have continually given Mum great care. Staff go above and beyond to ensure she is happy, stimulated and cared for well. They are responsive and respectful to her needs and accommodating them. Family visits and home visits are supported well.

Our elderly father recently spent the last 7 days of his life on Snowdrop unit at Glennfield. My brother and I did not hesitate in choosing Glennfield to care for him, as they cared for our mother too. The care of all staff was excellent, kind and compassionate. We were kept well informed throughout Dad's short stay, and the importance of his comfort and welfare was their first concern. The staff on this unit are an absolute credit to your home and we wish to send them our heartfelt thanks.

My mother is 103 years old and has been in Glennfield for two years. She has dementia but is treated with great care at this wonderful care home. The staff and management are very friendly and always very helpful and informative.

I find the home very friendly. The staff are very helpful and polite. Plenty of activities for residents.
