Bilney Hall offers a splendid environment for gracious living. The Hall dates back to the 19th century yet its luxurious facilities are very much 21st century. Generous single rooms, all with en-suite facilities, are tastefully decorated and provide residents with the necessary facilities for a quality life in later years. The Home provides residential care for frail elderly residents and has separate wings for those with dementia. Although all rooms...

Mum has been at Bilney Hall Care Home for eighteen months and has settled in well. She now refers to it as her home. All the staff we have met are lovely and Mum is always saying how caring they are. We, as a family, know she is safe and well cared for. My only criticism is the standard of furniture is poor with the wood effect finish peeling off. Also, the lack of places to stand things, like photographs which have to stand on the windowsill and repeatedly get knocked off and broken. Overall, I would say that the care home is excellent.

This is the only care home (Bilney) my wife has been in so I have nothing to compare it with. I have no complaints other than her spectacles are missing and cannot be found.

Mum seems to have settled in well although she does have her 'days off' from time to time! The only thing that we worry about is how often people (residents) enter her room and go through her things and the fact that her ensuite is used to store incontinence pads - thus reducing her privacy, All the staff are very kind and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

If you have a kin or friend who needs care and attention which you are unable to provide, I would recommend Bilney Hall. Residents are treated with dignity and care from the junior to the most senior carers, and most of the present staff have been at the care home for several years, which in my opinion, is very good because if they are happy, then the residents will be well taken care of. The activities and entertainment are good, and they try to get all involved.

My mum was moved to Bilney Hall in January this year, having moved Mum from Kent to Norfolk in quite a hurry. The staff have been a breath of fresh air, Mum had stopped eating and drinking completely, but with their professionalism, patience, experience and pure kindness, they have managed to pull my mum back to a happy and content lady - when I visit now, she has a smile on her face every time and, more to the point, an improved quality of life.
The staff give a 5-star service and more; they should be commended for their commitment and outstanding hard work.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Bilney Hall; it allows me to have complete peace of mind knowing that my mum is receiving the best care and attention.

The Bilney Hall staff really care about the needs of the residents and go out of their way to communicate.
My mum, who has dementia and multiple long-term conditions, moved into the home in September during Covid as her husband was no longer able to cope due to limited access to care and support in the community, and she was deteriorating. When she entered the care home, she was bed bound and unable to communicate effectively. Thanks to the care, compassion and supportive staff and effective re-assessment of her medications and care needs, she is now up and walking with a frame again and much more alert and communicative.

She is safe and secure, with every need catered for. The staff go above and beyond, even putting on a special celebration lunch to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. I am extremely happy with the service provided and can only thank the manager and her team for everything they have and are doing for Mum. Only wish I was closer, with a less busy job, so could pop in more often. Thanks.

My 96-year-old mother has been living at Bilney Hall since August 2018. She is living with advanced dementia and also has severely impaired eyesight. I cannot praise the manager, senior care team, carers, domestic, catering, activities, administration and maintenance staff highly enough, in particular the staff who work on Liddell Wing, which is where my mother's room is situated. During Mum's time within the home, her care needs have sadly increased greatly and the staff have all gone above and beyond to accommodate her changing needs and increased dependency. They are all well trained and treat Mum with great kindness and empathy, making time to sit with her and reassure her, both during the day and throughout the night, when she becomes anxious or agitated. She is at high risk of falls due to her impaired eyesight and decreased mobility. All possible measures have been put in place to keep her as safe as she can possibly be. The care provided by the home is excellent in my opinion.

The manager and staff at East Bilney have provided wonderful care and support for my mother throughout her stay. They are well-trained, always polite and keep me updated with any issues in relation to her care. They are always keen to help and support her, so that her life is comfortable and readily adapt to her changing care needs. It is a great relief that she is so well looked after.

I cannot speak more highly of the nursing care which my mother receives on a 24-hour basis at Bilney Hall. Now in her fourth year at Bilney, with complex needs, including being immobilised and bed bound. I feel very confident and secure in the knowledge that she is loved, cared for and supported by a team of highly qualified nursing staff led by the manager, who is approachable at all times and understanding of my mother's many needs. My special thanks goes to all the team. I feel very blessed that I have the freedom to leave my mother in the care of so many wonderful staff. Thank you!

As attorney for my ex-wife, I could not be more appreciative of the care and professionalism of the manager and all the staff. The level of care they provide goes well beyond what one could reasonably expect. She has been at Bilney Hall since 2018 and has sadly declined during that time. The love and compassion shown to her, especially as her care needs have multiplied, has been absolutely outstanding. Always so sad when someone is afflicted with this terrible dementia, the only blessing is that she is in Bilney Hall and not elsewhere.

My mother has been at Bilney for 8 months now and I couldn't be happier with the care she receives and her general well-being, due to her being a resident there. I am regularly updated on her welfare or if she requires any clothing, toiletries or a change of diet. These updates are either via phone calls if urgent or via email if less important. It's important to me to be able to leave my mother at Bilney totally confident that if there is an issue I will be informed, which I can 100% say I will be. I visit my mother at different times and on different days and I have never needed to chase the staff up on any concerns I have. My mother has vascular dementia and wouldn't remember if anything had happened to her, so I have to trust and rely on the staff to inform me if there have been any problems and again I know that they will. Care isn't cheap, but I think Bilney Care Home offers the best care for my mother and gives me peace of mind. I would definitely recommend them.

Visited my friend recently. What a great place for her to be living in. The staff are so friendly, both to her and myself and the care is second to none. I cannot praise the manager and her staff enough for their friendliness, efficiency and caring, in a wonderful environment. I would recommend them to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.

The staff at Bilney Hall Care Home are so caring and professional.
My Dad has quite complex needs and the staff are completely understanding and are able to help my Dad when he needs it (unlike a couple of other care homes he has been to).
Staff will always contact me if there is an issue.
I am so happy with all the staff at Bilney Hall and they all deserve to be paid so much more than they do as without them many lives would be made so much more difficult.

The food looks amazing and my Dad always enjoys mealtimes.

Whenever I ring to find out how my mum is, staff are very polite, friendly and caring. When I visit, it is safe, friendly and inviting. The staff have made a great effort to make Mum feel calm and happy. She has a real feeling of belonging. It is hard at the moment to comment on activities due to Covid-19, but the staff more than make up for it with the lovely chats and banter.

Mum has vascular dementia and has recently moved to Bilney Hall, having arrived there with a fractured hip (after a fall at home). Bilney Hall was recommended to us and, from the very start, the home manager has been informative, reassuring and supportive – helping us through a very anxious and worrying time. Mum has now adjusted well to her new surroundings and the staff are patient and understanding towards her. They are also communicative and helpful when contacting me in regards to mum.

Mum’s room feels safe and clean, with a nice view of the hall’s estate. Mum’s various health issues have also improved now that she is eating properly and being looked after so well. This has given me peace of mind in regards to mum's needs, especially with the home’s expertise in supporting and helping people with dementia. Thank you, Bilney Hall.

My mum, who has dementia moved into Bilney Hall in August 2020 (between lockdowns). She had been living with us as part of our family for 7 years. In July 2020, we met with the manager from Bilney Hall. Hearing her views and observing her interactions with Mum helped us to make the decision to choose Bilney. Once settled the staff facilitated weekly visits outdoors. Mum was always ready and our time together was precious. As the weather changed, visits moved into a purpose-built pod. Now due to national lockdown rules, there are no in-person visits allowed. However, the staff have been incredible at facilitating plenty of facetime calls. I also get regular updates via newsletters, phone calls and of course the wonderful 'resident of the day' calls. At a time when staff are stretched to their limits the team at Bilney just seem to dig a little deeper. Their care for Mum and for me is exceptional and I cannot commend them highly enough. Thank you.

Thank you, Sarah, for your lovely review. I will pass this on to the staff team. We love looking after your mum and helping you keep in contact with her. I hope we will soon be able to facilitate pod visits again. Can I pass on the staff's delight at your regular grateful emails? It makes them all smile.
