Mum received love, patience, respect, care and kindness during a most vulnerable time in her life. Staff interacted and spent time getting to know her. I could relax knowing she ate well. Staff did everything possible to help create a happy and positive environment. I will always be thankful for the care shown by staff more like family and it is a comfort knowing mum was at Harker House for her final years.

My brother first came with Dementia and was always jolly and cheeky. The staff reciprocated, but with respect. Now for his last months, although unable to do much they still treated him with humour which he obviously enjoyed as he would smile, we appreciated this very much. They always treated us almost as friends and seemed a dedicated group. We were impressed by the whole service given and couldn't have wished for a better end for our much loved brother, husband, uncle and father. Thank you.

My mum was in Harker House for 6 months. The care and love she received in her short time was above and beyond expectation. Whenever we went to visit, management and staff made us feel like their own family and always kept us informed about things. They were very professional in the end of life care for my mum and made a difficult time easier.

We had a problem with my father's meds, and the doctor would not listen.
Harker House was brilliant. They helped and supported my family as well as my father during this very stressful time.
The staff you could not ask for better care and support.

It was my parents' 60th wedding anniversary, and they organised a small party for them and invited friends and family.

There is always such a warm welcome at Harker House. Every member of staff is smiling and ready to help. The place smells so clean, looks well cared for and is spotless from the rooms to the dining room, communal areas and toilets. The cleaners are all friendly and take pride in their work, as do all the caring staff and management. There is a strong sense of family of caring, of professionalism. I love visiting. My godmother is very happy and says she cannot fault a thing. The food is great. The maintenance team again caring and efficient. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Only marked down on room because it is small. But it is well equipped and clean.

Honestly can't put into words how amazing Harker house were with providing my Nanny the best care possible up until the very end. The staff and manager made sure my family were all looked after when the time was near by providing support, food and drinks and even a shoulder to cry on if needed. We couldn't have asked for a better place for my nanny to life over the past year, the staff we all so welcoming to her on arrival and to our family when we came to visit. We really appreciate that you all went above and beyond to make nanny feel as if she was at her own home and that she was well looked after.

I came with my sister to see a resident at Harker House Long Stratton and we were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. The entrance lobby was decorated in celebratory colours for valentines day and it was very well done. The staff that we encountered were very friendly and we had a lovely visit, we will be back.

We as a family have been more than happy with the quality of care that my mother has received for the past 16 months until she sadly passed away before Christmas. Any issues or concerns that we raised were dealt with promptly. The wellbeing of the residents was always put first with activities most days, my mum especially enjoyed the trips out. The home is kept immaculate by the domestic staff and home cooked food is enjoyed by the residents. The environment is homely and like one big family due to all the caring staff. Any health concerns were brought to the attention of the GP by the staff with us being made aware. Mum came to think of the carers as part of her family, Harker House will always hold a special place in our hearts, we will miss our visits.
The home is run by an amazing manager, he has been such a great support in mums final weeks arranging special equipment nothing was too much trouble to keep mum comfortable and support us as a family.

Thank you everyone at Harker.

My mum went to live in Harker House in June this year when she needed more care than I could provide at my home.
She was very nervous but by day two was joining in the bingo and booking herself onto group days out. Whenever I visited her, I was overwhelmed by the Care the staff gave, and I mean all staff, caregivers, catering, cleaners, admin, management, everyone.
Sadly my mum's health took a downward turn very quickly and she suffered a few falls during the night. Once again, Harker House staff took the greatest of care with her and I was kept informed immediately so that I could make my way to the hospital.

My mum sadly passed away in July after the heart failure she had had for years finally took her but I can honestly say that her last few weeks were filled with love and care and much of that was attributable to the staff at Harker House to whom I will be forever grateful.

I can not put into words how thankful I am to the carers at Harker House. My grandad was lucky enough to live here for two years. Every day there are activities for the residents ranging from singing and bingo to boccia and balloon tennis, visits from performers and even donkeys and kittens.
Sadly my grandad has just passed away. He was cared for with such love until his last breath. The love that was felt by the carers was overwhelming and made me feel peace.
I know that the whole time my grandad was at Harker House he was loved, listened to and treated with dignity and respect.
I will miss going to Harker House and seeing all the staff and residents but most of all I'm thankful that my grandad and family had the chance to have Harker House in our lives.

Thank you.

My dad became a resident at Harker in Oct 22 and more recently has been joined by Mum as well. Both had previously been receiving respite care in other local private care homes and whilst they received a good standard of care elsewhere there is one very big difference - they are businesses, Harker is one big family.

Every member of staff from the managers to cooks, the carers to handyman treat the residents like they are their own family, no matter how busy anyone is they have a smile and a friendly word for residents and visitors. Ok, so the rooms might not be the poshest and the building might be a little tired but you need to look past that and witness the care, warmth and love which echoes throughout. There is nowhere else I would want my parents to be. Harker made Xmas so special, there was so much going on from singers to pantomines, choirs to a charity. It's not just for Xmas though, every day there is something happening, they have so much fun.
