I have been here 3 weeks for respite, today I go home. The carers have looked after me very well, nothing is too much effort, the food is nice.
The home is clean and tidy, I am pleased to go back home to my cat but sad to leave this lovely place.

Maybe one day in the future I will be lucky enough to come back.

My mother died this week after spending 2 years at care home. While there she was very happy, she loved the staff and they were excellent in their care. She was in hospital near the end but asked to go home, by that she meant care home. The carers used to sit with her while we took a break.

My father has been treated with care and compassion in what has been a difficult and challenging time in his life and that of his family.

The family has been made welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the carers.

The home is so very welcoming. All the staff are so warm at heart and always have a smiling face upon arrival.

The place feels more like a homely home rather than a care home and is always a pleasure to visit.

My mother lived at Harker House for 3 years. Upon every weekly visit, we were greeted to a smile and warm atmosphere from the wonderful carers.

My mother was always treated with dignity, respect, love and warmth. She loved the daily activities, especially the mobile pet zoo that often visits and weekly trips to the hairdressers upstairs. When the stage came that she was towards the end, the care staff did anything they could to support us. Mother was very well looked after. We highly recommend Harker House - such a wonderful home!

My mother came into Harker House early summer 2015. Since that date, she has been treated with dignity and kindness by all the staff. They encourage her to join in with activities but always respect her wishes. Because there is little turnover of staff, she feels safe. When hospitalised recently, she couldn't wait to get back home to them.

We have always felt included in her care and staff are always ready and happy to discuss any concerns. When my "turn" comes, I hope that I am as lucky.

I love my care happy hotel home. My carers are first class, I love them all, they are here for me day and night whenever I need them. If wasn't for my carers I wouldn't be walking and talking and they sorted my water works out for me. The lady of the house and all of them are happy, smiling carers and that makes me happy. I can go to bed happy and sleep wonderfully.

Over the past four years of my mother being in residence, she has, in my opinion, received excellent support and care. Nothing seems to be too much trouble from the staff and the end of her life was treated with a great deal of kindness and dignity.

My mother lived here for the last four years of her life. She was happy and very well cared for. She was encouraged to do as much as she could, gently and patiently. The staff are excellent: friendly, caring and conscientious. My sister and I were always greeted and made to feel welcome.

I have worked in care since 2007, starting off as a care assistant and progressing into my current position. I have experience of working in various care settings and my last role before joining the team at Harker Houser was as the Manager of a home providing dementia care.

I absolutely love how varied my days are and how rewarding it is to make a difference to residents’ lives by providing good quality, person centred care.
