Situated in a semi-rural location in a friendly village in Norfolk, Ashfields is a purpose built home with a high standard of décor, spacious courtyard, pleasant gardens and modern facilities.

This home really does get the best of both worlds; plenty of local amenities yet within easy reach of the historic city of Norwich and the sea side town Great Yarmouth and its beautiful coastal resorts. They're also only 10 minutes from the famous Norfolk Broads.

The home provides first-class 24-hour residential care alongside expert care for people with dementia. They also provide care for those with a physical disability, while a team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

My husband entered the care home in November 2023. He was very confused, had no idea really what was going on and therefore, was very agitated. I was informed by the manager that this was a normal reaction. With lots of help and kindness and medication, they have delivered him to a totally different
state. Nine months on, he is now very calm, has accepted his placing here and is aware of what happens to him and his daily routine. The staff dealing with him are amazing in the techniques they use and so patient. He is now treating it more as his home and beginning to join in activities. A huge well done to everyone.

My mum received outstanding care throughout her entire stay. At no point did we doubt the quality of care or the activities offered as her ability to engage with them declined. Her passing in October 2023 was treated with the respect and dignity we had come to expect in life. Amazing staff. This review
though is to credit the behind the scene's administration. The administrator has the patience of a saint in dealing with the council. She continued to support us - answering questions and making contact with them nine months after Mum passed. Barchester Ashfields Care Home is lucky to have a full team of staff who care for people and their families. Top marks.

My father was a resident for almost a year, initially thought it was a lovely home but after changing and stopping his medication this had a detrimental effect on his health. Dad was sent to the Hospital to have his medication reviewed and stabilised and was meant to return to Ashfields but the manager
then terminated his contract without any prior meetings or notification to us, on the day he was admitted. They then boxed his belongings up to be collected like he didn't matter! Through no fault of his own, as he has Alzheimer's they couldn't get rid of him quick enough, but he didn't choose for them to mess about with his medication and then be disregarded. The carers and administrators are so lovely but the home is not led by a good manager! No wonder so many carers leave their jobs at Ashfields.

There has been excellent communication with staff at Barchester Ashfields Care Home and the management team. They are informative of any updates regarding my father and also, all activities available to him, I get notified by email of his weekly planner.
The care and support my father receives is excellent.
Overall,
I am very happy and satisfied of how everything is dealt with and how understanding and kind everyone is.

Absolutely lovely place, my dad could not speak more highly of the staff and food and the care that he received for two weeks here. As his daughter, I could not have asked for more care than he received, but they went over and beyond. We took fish and chips in for him one evening, they had set the private
dining room table with plates, cutlery, condiments, tea, coffee and juice and even sorted bread and butter. There was me expecting to eat them out of the paper! Staff keep up the amazing work, every one of you from the cleaners to management you are amazing and thank you.

A wonderful care home. From my initial enquiry the manager was truly invested in listening to my Mum’s journey. A personalised first day entering the home, Mum and I were welcomed with afternoon tea in the private dining area. Mum has been here a month now. She has settled really quickly with the care
and support from the wonderful staff. Rooms and facilities are lovely and clean, staff are very kind and friendly and regularly update me with any health matters. There are regular activities and entertainment for residents, music playing throughout the care home which gives a lovely relaxed atmosphere for staff, residents and family. Food is plentiful and delicious. I really couldn’t ask for a better home. Thank you for sharing the home with my Mum.

There are not enough thank yous in the world to give to this home. They looked after my grandad with such care and compassion. Not only did they care for him but also us, as a family, and could not have been more supportive during some tough days. The home was always so clean and welcoming and watching
how much the staff cared and gave to the residents was amazing. There was always an activity happening and the home was just always a happy place to go into. The food was amazing also! The home is a credit to the care industry, thank you again.

The staff are always accommodating and helpful when I need help to put my husband into respite. It is a difficult thing for me to do but I feel they are very supportive to my needs too. They have activities for the residents which is so important and I understand that the food is excellent too. I have

Mum was admitted for a short respite stay.
I visited Mum at 11.00 am that weekend, to find her wet in bed, through to the bed sheets, lying flat in bed, barely able to obtain fluids from that position.
I felt like she'd just been left and not cared for.
Even if clients are not compliant early morning,
you would hope they would be checked on again earlier than 11.00 am.
I took Mum out early.

Each time we bring Dad to visit Mum, we enjoy it. Ashfields is always clean, smells pleasant and the staff are so friendly and professional. Mum always looks nice and is quite happy here. Dad has been here during meals and says the food looks good. He has even been offered a meal and enjoyed it as well.
Hot drinks are plentiful and provided with a chat and a smile by the host.

Mum has been here for a couple of months. The staff are all lovely, friendly and hardworking and there is a lovely atmosphere. Mum is very well cared for here, The home is clean and well-kept. The food is varied and lovely. The activities are great with live music, trips out, and celebrations of Burns
night, Chinese New Year. Mum is certainly looking better for being here. It is lovely to know that Mum is well cared for here which gives the family peace of mind. Thank you to all at Ashfields.

My name is Nita Pulmones. I am the General Manager at Ashfields Care Home. I have 27 years of experience in healthcare, starting from working as a Rural Health midwife in the Philippines to being hired by Barchester Health Care in 2003. Since then, I have worked in various care homes and nursing homes in Norwich in various roles, leading to my current role.


My passion and priority are our residents' medical needs and well-being. It is an honour to ensure each individual is treated with respect and dignity and is a pleasure to work closely with wonderful staff who deliver high-quality care for our residents.

Hello, my name is Zack and I am a Peripatetic Senior Care Assistant here at Ashfields.


I joined Barchester in 2019 and I have always enjoyed helping people. I like to spend time with the residents and their loved ones, listening to their stories and ensuring we support them when needed. 


Helping our residents settle into their new homes, and making sure they that feel comfortable and receive the best possible care is very important to me.

My name is Xen and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at Ashfields.


I have experience working in care homes in Activities leisure and lifestyle roles. In my own time, I love to go antique shopping and make crafts. 


I love being part of the Ashfields team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel its important for the residents to have the opportunity to explore new interests as well as keep up with previous interests and hobbies.
