Barchester Ashfields Care Home

Cannot fault the great care my mum receives at Barchester Ashfields Care Home. It was a very hard decision to move my mum into a care home but all staff are lovely and very caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Cannot speak highly enough of you all.

The experience I have had has been very satisfactory.

A bright and cheerful care home where staff do all they can to make residents comfortable. Mum recently celebrated her 100th birthday and the staff gave her a wonderful day.

My father stayed at Ashfields for two weeks respite care. The home is friendly, caring, professional and well run. The staff are very approachable and constantly interact with the residents. The hygiene is very good, food is excellent and the home is safe and very secure. Our sincere thanks for looking after Father so well.

Absolutely lovely place, my dad could not speak more highly of the staff and food and the care that he received for two weeks here. As his daughter, I could not have asked for more care than he received, but they went over and beyond. We took fish and chips in for him one evening, they had set the private dining room table with plates, cutlery, condiments, tea, coffee and juice and even sorted bread and butter. There was me expecting to eat them out of the paper! Staff keep up the amazing work, every one of you from the cleaners to management you are amazing and thank you.

The manager, admin staff and the front-of-house team could not have been kinder or more informative as we quickly looked to find a safe and happy place to care for our father. We are only one week in but all is going very well. Thank you!

A wonderful care home. From my initial enquiry the manager was truly invested in listening to my Mum’s journey. A personalised first day entering the home, Mum and I were welcomed with afternoon tea in the private dining area. Mum has been here a month now. She has settled really quickly with the care and support from the wonderful staff. Rooms and facilities are lovely and clean, staff are very kind and friendly and regularly update me with any health matters. There are regular activities and entertainment for residents, music playing throughout the care home which gives a lovely relaxed atmosphere for staff, residents and family. Food is plentiful and delicious. I really couldn’t ask for a better home. Thank you for sharing the home with my Mum.

There are not enough thank yous in the world to give to this home. They looked after my grandad with such care and compassion. Not only did they care for him but also us, as a family, and could not have been more supportive during some tough days. The home was always so clean and welcoming and watching how much the staff cared and gave to the residents was amazing. There was always an activity happening and the home was just always a happy place to go into. The food was amazing also! The home is a credit to the care industry, thank you again.

Staff and management are very patient, pleasant and helpful. Mum loves the singing activity and remembers most of the words.

Staff are always happy and welcoming when we visit. It's very clean, tidy and a pleasure to come. My relative is happy to be here, the happiest she's been in a long time. The food always looks nice, and a good variety on the menu. 10/10.

The staff are always accommodating and helpful when I need help to put my husband into respite. It is a difficult thing for me to do but I feel they are very supportive to my needs too. They have activities for the residents which is so important and I understand that the food is excellent too. I have already arranged further respite care for the end of September.

I took Mum out early.

Each time we bring Dad to visit Mum, we enjoy it. Ashfields is always clean, smells pleasant and the staff are so friendly and professional. Mum always looks nice and is quite happy here. Dad has been here during meals and says the food looks good. He has even been offered a meal and enjoyed it as well. Hot drinks are plentiful and provided with a chat and a smile by the host.

The care home is modern, clean and comfortable providing excellent facilities, activities and services in a safe and secure environment.

Mum has been here for a couple of months. The staff are all lovely, friendly and hardworking and there is a lovely atmosphere. Mum is very well cared for here, The home is clean and well-kept. The food is varied and lovely. The activities are great with live music, trips out, and celebrations of Burns night, Chinese New Year. Mum is certainly looking better for being here. It is lovely to know that Mum is well cared for here which gives the family peace of mind. Thank you to all at Ashfields.

My mum has been in a Barchester home for almost 2 years now. I am very pleased with the care she has received. Her medical needs have always been attended to and she is very happy there.

I didn't want to put my father in a care home, but the time had come. Ashfields is a wonderful place for my father to be, the care staff go out of their way to see my dad happy, and nothing is too much trouble. Always clean and tidy, and as for the food which is all homemade, it's amazing and dad loves it, all staff are great couldn't be happier for my dad, he loves it there, A big thank you to everyone for making my dad so happy.

My elderly friend has been a resident at Ashfields for almost two years, since becoming unable to care for herself at home due to failing general health and mental capacity. During those two years, she has been cared for by the Ashfields staff with dignity, kindness and love. The care staff work together to provide a very clean, comfortable, loving and family-oriented home for their residents. There is a varied programme of weekly activities which is also emailed to relatives for information, and meal menus look tempting and nutritious. In addition, I appreciate greatly the fact that the care home administrator always finds time to help with any queries I may have relating to my friend and her personal affairs when I visit. I can only admire, praise and thank all the staff at Ashfields for their patience, care and dedication to my friend and all the residents in their care.

My mother who was 103 at the time had to go to Barchester after being in hospital with an infection. The staff nursed her back to herself and she has had a wonderful time being able to be included in many of the daily activities the home provides. She has been looked after so well she has now reached her 104th birthday. The home is clean and the food provided in the dining room or in bed is of a very high standard. I would fully recommend Barchester to anyone.

I am very pleased with my sister's placement at Ashfields Care Home. The home is very clean and welcoming. Nice atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly and kind. The bedrooms, lounges and dining room are all beautifully furnished and everywhere is fresh. The meals on offer are well-cooked, varied and much appreciated. A good selection of activities and outings are on offer for those wishing to take part. Hairdressing and chiropody are on offer too. Pleasant gardens to enjoy. The home is small which enables staff to know all residents by name.
