York House

Pleased with staff, management and care at York House.

A delightful afternoon visiting my aunt for her birthday with an excellent afternoon tea provided by the staff at York House. This is such a friendly, vibrant place with helpful staff and happy residents. Residents' rooms are spacious and clean. The lounge is busy and well used by visitors and my aunt has a favourite chair and is able to enjoy companionship and activities.

Management and staff always friendly and cheerful and have good relationships with residents.

Mum celebrated her 96th Birthday recently. York House provided a wonderful afternoon tea including a large cake to celebrate with family. The afternoon was fantastic (as always). The home made food was excellent. Every one is so kind and welcoming at York House.

Very good, even got offered lunch.

Wow! Just wow. My friend has recently transferred to York House from a care, home in Suffolk, there is no comparison between the two, York House is open, friendly, informative, caring, and well-managed, with staff who care and appear to enjoy the work that they do, this is visible on the faces of the staff and the patients. In other so-called care homes, restrictions are placed on visitors, I suspect to suit the management of those homes, but not at York House, in fact just the opposite as a friend of a resident I am encouraged both to visit and to take each other out for meals and socialising, we are having a great time, which is all down to the excellent management and amazing staff of York House, We just cannot thank them all enough.

Found the staff very obliging and helpful. My mother seems to have settled in very well. The first impression was excellent.

Found the home to be very comfortable for the residents and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Even asked if we would like to join them for lunch with the residents.

I visited my friend who had only been a resident for a few days. He had really settled in in a short time and the staff were attentive and friendly. More importantly, he was happy and very satisfied.

As soon as you walk into York House it feels like home. Friendly caring staff. Clean and bright. Excellent activities to suit all. Good homecooked varied meals. Very relaxing atmosphere. Garden and a lovely outside seating area.

They had a summer Mexican-themed party today, with decorations (some made by residents), BBQ, buffet, music. It was brilliant and residents could stay inside or venture outside. Family were encouraged to come along and the hospitality was fantastic. Thank you so much for all of your help!

My father initially came to York House for respite, he was met with management and other staff who made him feel welcomed as were family members. Lots of smiles and laughter around the home. Excellent management and staff who show the utmost respect and professionalism. The home has a variety of activities which are displayed on a weekly basis. The home is clean, food is freshly made on the premises and residents can have drinks on request and are also able to help themselves. Thank you to all the staff for making Dad feel special and giving the utmost care.

The security is effective and access to outside space in good weather is very pleasant.

My father went for a respite period where the care and dedicated staff always with a smile and conversation looked after him exceptionally well, he was very happy throughout his stay. Any small problem they dealt with swiftly and no fuss keeping contact with relatives throughout which took away any worry. The food and drink was plentiful and excellent. My dad has respite care and enjoyed his three-night stay. He was made to feel special from the moment he walked through the door to when he left. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The meals were excellent and lots of activities, so much so, that he is going back to stay in July.

My father came in for respite care whilst we were on holiday. The care provided and the friendliness of the staff was excellent from start to finish. Special thanks for going above and beyond and queries were all resolved by conscientious staff. Could not have had better care.

Management and staff are excellent and very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and I couldn't wish for a better home for my Mum. My mind is always at ease knowing that my Mum is in excellent hands and being cared for by excellent people.

All the staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The flowers all over the home are beautiful and it's always spotlessly clean and smells lovely.
