Finding the right place to care for your loved one is a big decision. I felt comfortable as soon as I visited York House and met the people there. The staff are all friendly and great at their jobs; they make an effort to know the residents, as well as meeting their care needs. No doubt the pandemic has provided lots of challenges, but I have always found York House well-staffed and my dad well cared for. Thank you!
York House is wonderful; they looked after my mum with dignity and respect. On the day my mum passed away, we were with her, and all the staff on duty that day made sure we were ok as well, bringing us ice cream, coffee and biscuits etc; they are all simply the best.

I have not seen my mother for some time, due to COVID restrictions, but in the last month, I have been able to see her three times. I have noticed she has deteriorated quite a bit. The last time I saw her was on Tuesday 6th April, when I found her incoherent which was quite upsetting. I only went in as far as the designated room but all the checks were done very satisfactorily. I’ve always found the staff very happy and helpful.
The manager and her team are excellent and I cannot thank them enough for looking after my brother and mother. They go the extra mile to make life better for all the residents. Nothing is too much trouble.

All aspects of this care home are excellent. Very well managed, wonderful caring staff. All the residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. There is always laughter and a sense of homeliness, which is apparent from the moment you walk through the door.

Mum has received good respite care when it was most needed. Unfortunately, coronavirus has limited the activities offered which Mum enjoyed. The staff have been most accommodating and respectful. Would recommend.
