My husband, geoff, moved to Penns Mount two weeks ago from another residential home. Myself and our family are very impressed with the efficient running of the home also the help, care and attention he is getting, so grateful Geoff seems happy and settled which means so much to us. Sam and the staff are so helpful and, understanding. After visiting I always come out smiling knowing I can leave Geoff in their very capable hands. Thank you Penns Mount.

The home was very welcoming, staff were very caring and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. Light and airy rooms kept very clean and the meals were good. My husband was very happy there, shame he wasn't able to stay longer as he needed hospital treatment and care.

The staff are all very kind and caring. The atmosphere is always welcoming, it's a real home from home.
My Mum settled in very quickly and much to my surprise joined in the daily activities, she especially enjoyed the visiting singers.
Any medical problems are dealt with quickly and the local GP called if necessary. We were kept informed about any changes to her medication.
The home is always clean and smells fresh, the rooms are nicely decorated with modern furniture. The lounge has recently been decorated and equipped with new furniture. It is set in nice grounds, there are views from the lounge of the gardens and dartmoor in the distance. We took Mum out into the garden on warm afternoons where we could enjoy watching the birds.

There is a choice of meals, and the chef will prepare meals for special diets.

My mum-in-law says how pleased she is to have chosen Penns Mount to live in, since she can no longer manage at home. She describes the staff as being very kind and attentive. When I visit I am greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. The food looks good and she says it tastes good too! On my last visit she enjoyed pizza, followed by fresh strawberries and blueberries in a mint syrup. Any medical problems are dealt with promptly.

My mother has been a resident at Penns Mount nursing home for two years. During that time, she has thrived. Although her condition is not easy and she is not mobile, the staff have been able to accommodate her needs and personality. They have also managed to bring her into many of the communal activities. I would not have expected her to join in.

The staff are very friendly towards my mother, and it appears to be the same with all residents. We are blessed to have our mother in this care home! Thanks to all involved!

My mother arrived at Penns Mount several years ago anxious, rebellious and resentful. Over these years my mother has been treated with respect and dedicated care, both physical and social. On my most recent visit I was deeply struck by the change in Mother's demeanour; she is calm, content and even happy, a first for her.

Penns Mount is the perfect home for my mother, all staff and management are 100% supportive, kind, caring and dedicated to their clients' needs. Mum can watch the birds and enjoy her bit of garden which she used to enjoy at home. As her daughter, I cannot fault Penns Mount.

Mum has been a resident at Penns Mount for just over two years. She is happy and settled, and though it took a little time, now considers it her home. The care is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient. Located within gorgeous gardens and grounds makes visiting enjoyable and the view from Mum's window, and the surrounding green space have a positive effect on her well-being also.

Choosing a care home for Mum was such an agonising decision, but as a family, we are confident and very happy with our choice.

I believe my mother is well cared for at Penns Mount, the staff are kind, friendly and welcoming. They accommodate individuals' requests to ensure personalised care. The food is of a high quality with a varied menu. The team appears to have a good relationship with the GP care home service and are vigilant to review any changes in health. There are daily activities which are well-planned and varied. My mum very much enjoys the musicians. The staff work very hard, they always appear to be happy. My brother and I are very grateful for the care received by our Mum as she comes to the end of her life, she is safe and has all her needs met and more. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident since October 2019. She has dementia and is at risk of falling. The staff are caring, friendly and respectful. They are cheerful, always willing to help and offer assistance when required. Mum herself says the atmosphere is lovely, the food is really good and the staff caring. She says 'it is a very good group here'. I find everyone very helpful, quick to understand my mum's needs and I know she is in safe hands. When she has needed extra medical help the staff have been really quick to respond, not only getting her help but keeping me informed. The activities provided are varied and interesting. We would definitely recommend the Home to others.

All the staff and the owners of the home are caring and supportive of my father. He has dementia and is unable to support his body weight. They are constantly checking him and attending to all his needs both day and night. They treat him with dignity and compassion. The home is kept clean and my father's room is cleaned often. His bedding and clothing is changed more or less once a day. The room and home smell pleasant and the food is well balanced and cooked beautifully. The care home is run as much as possible to be a home from home. Staff turnover seems very low, signifying satisfaction.

My mother has been in one other retirement home before this one. I am highly impressed by every aspect of this home. It is managed well and every single member of staff I have dealt with has been thoroughly professional in every way. The food which my mother receives always looks nutritionally good and enticing. I am so pleased with the Relatives Gateway system and use it regularly even though I live quite near to the home. It is no surprise to me that Penns Mount has won an award in the Top 20 homes in the South West. You are doing a fantastic job - thank you so much for everything you have done for our family.

My father has been at Penns Mount for almost 2 years now. He has Vascular Dementia and the staff have been kind and understanding to him. He is well cared for, both physically and emotionally and feels he is with family.
Residents are treated with respect and kindness and they are treated like people who matter. The home is always clean and fresh. The food is varied, fresh, nutritious and well cooked. The staff are cheerful and friendly and work hard to provide quality care. There are appropriate and fun activities every day and birthdays are remembered and celebrated.

Any concerns are immediately addressed and staff have approached us with ideas of how to make dad's life more comfortable. We are happy to have him in such safe and comfortable hands.

Welcoming and friendly staff. All staff very approachable and down to earth. Meals are always appetising and always a choice. Staff are quick to respond efficiently to all everyday emergencies and have shown lots of compassion when Mum has had UTI incidents. We are really happy to say that Mum settled in quickly and is enjoying living here. As a sole carer I am very relieved to have found somewhere so caring and feel comfortable about visiting whenever I like and having quality people looking after my lovely Mum. It was a really good find. Thank you to all of the staff at Penns Mount.
