When visiting my mother, she is always happy and does not stop telling us how lovely her meals are. The care home is clean and tidy, and there are a lot of activities laid on for the residents. The staff are always polite and friendly.
We are very pleased to hear how happy your mother is at The Laurels and Pine Lodge and that she is enjoying the home cooked meals. Its great to know that you find the home clean and tidy and that the team are welcoming and friendly. We will pass on these kind words to all of the team and thank you for taking the time to write these kind words.
Amazing care home. They take extremely good care of my grandmother. They do regular events and activities, and most of the time, they get all the family involved. My grandmother is extremely happy here, and when we come to visit, we are warmly welcomed and made to feel comfortable. The food is delicious, and there is always a variety for the residents. Overall experience is 10/10.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is great to hear that your grandmother is well cared for and enjoying the home-cooked meals at The Laurels and Pine Lodge. At Hartford Care, we pride ourselves on the well-being of our residents, which includes, not only activities for them but...
Often come around dinner time due to work commitments. The food always looks healthy and appetising. Staff always ask residents what they would like from a great choice. They treat them with respect, however, can be overwhelming with the noise/seating arrangements. I also feel at the end of the day when I visit the smell of urine can be strong, if I have the opportunity to visit early in the day this does not happen.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are so pleased you are happy with the quality of food we serve and how our teams care for the residents with respect and dignity - we shall pass these comments on to the team. We are sorry to hear you have experienced an unpleasant odour when...
The only thing I feel at the moment is that the home is feeling really full and at dinner time there doesn't always seem space for everyone.
Overall though I can't commend the home high enough when I know my mum is very happy.
Positives: Nice family-friendly atmosphere and the staff are welcoming and friendly, despite the difficulties of the job. Residents are encouraged to join in with the activities. The food is varied and excellent and all individual tastes are catered for. There is only one negative in that repairs to the room can take a long time. The remote for the TV doesn't work and we haven't had this replaced. Sometimes a lack of staff - but think that's a nationwide problem. But I would recommend this care home to others.
Grandad seems very happy at The Pines, in better-than-anticipated and feeling well at home. It's heartwarming to see the carers getting him involved in activities, even though I know he can be stubborn and still be able to see his lovely smile on social media. I feel he will be happy and settled here until the end of his life.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review and for sharing these kind words. It is wonderful to hear how happy your Granddad is at Pine Lodge and that you are also happy with the care and support provided and seeing him smile. We will pass on these lovely words to all the staff at The Laurels and Pine Lodge.
We enjoyed several hours at events held for relatives and other social activities. Sadly due to personnel circumstances, we have not been able to visit very regularly. The home always kept us updated on my aunt's health. We always knew that she was fine in their care. Thank you to the Team, you all do an amazing job.
Thank you for taking the time to write these kids words. We are pleased to hear that your aunt was well cared for during her time at Laurels & Pine Lodge and you were safe in the knowledge that she was safe and looked after. We are also happy to hear that you joined in with the many events held for...
Very nice gardens, social activities, Christmas winter wonderland. Nice paintwork decoration and the food is delicious. What more could you ask for.
Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review and thank you for spending your free time volunteering with the residents at The Laurels & Pine Lodge, I am sure the residents and the staff appreciate it.
Any concerns are taken on board and dealt with and communication between staff and relatives is very good.
Management has been very supportive when necessary. Activities are plenteous, but there are quiet places to go to if residents and relatives prefer. A good choice of care home.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write this review. We are pleased you are happy with the care your loved one receives. It is also good to hear that staff and management are very supportive and there is a good choice of activities with also quiet places to visit. We will pass on your kind words the the staff and management.
Really happy with the Laurels and Pines care home, couldn't be more caring and thoughtful, they just can't do enough. The resident always looking settled and cared for. Fabulous activities were put on for the residents and their families. My mum settled in lovely, I was so worried when she had to go into a care home but all my worries have been put to rest. The manager went through everything with us before Mum went in, it was very reassuring.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We are really happy to hear how easily your mum settled into The Laurels and Pine Lodge and that you have peace of mind that your mum is being well cared for. We will pass on this on to all the staff who will be more than happy to hear this.
So happy with the care my friend has been receiving. Always confident that my friend is well cared for and safe. Always contacted if any concerning issues arise promptly. Care is consistent and team genuinely care. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are really happy to hear how pleased you are with the care your friend receives and will pass this on to all the staff who will be happy to hear this.
Not too large (and impersonal) but big enough to have a community feel to it. All the staff - cleaners, catering, management and carers - know the residents and take time to interact with them. Family members are always made to feel welcome.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so pleased you are happy with the community feel we have created at the home and that you feel welcome. Our team will be very happy to hear they are doing a great job, we will pass these compliments on to them all.
It is very reassuring to know my friend is being well cared for at Pine Lodge. The staff are so nice and make it a lovely place to be in. Thank you to all.
Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to submit your really positive feedback on your friend's experience of care at Pine Lodge. It's so great to receive comments like yours and we'll take much pleasure in passing them on to the team.
My mother spent four weeks at The Laurels. She loved it there, the staff were warm, caring, professional and became her extended family. I can't speak highly enough of everyone connected with this fantastic care home. I wish my mother could have had longer to enjoy all that was on offer. I won't forget the care and love my mother received at this wonderful home.
We are so pleased that your mother was so happy during her stay with us at The Laurels. Thank you for your kind words about our team and the level of care she received whilst with us.
The staff showed care, respect and concern for my aunt's well-being at all times. Although there were very serious problems with Covid 19, as in all sectors of healthcare, The Laurels continued to try as hard as they could to maintain communications between residents and relatives "on the outside" by phone and by means of the home's Facebook page. Thank you to every member of the staff!
Thank you for your kind words, and for recognising the efforts of our team members under some challenging times. We will pass on your comments to all the team.
My mum has been living at The Laurels & Pine Lodge for 8 months and is very happy and settled. She has good relationships with the staff and has made some friends. The home is very welcoming when I visit. The Laurels is very homely and has a strong family feel. I am happy with the care my mum receives.
We really appreciate your kind words about The Laurels & Pine Lodge. It is our pleasure to look after your mum and to see her making friends with other ladies and gentlemen and our team members. We shall share your fantastic feedback with all The Laurels' team.
My nan is a resident at The Laurels and she is thriving here. I have never seen her so happy and content. She gets involved in most activities and she has a sense of real purpose again. The staff here really care, and my nan has a wonderful bond with them. She really seems to be genuinely happy to be around them. The home has a really wonderful atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely words about The Laurels & Pine Lodge. We love looking after your nan and to see her thriving in our care. Her happiness is a joy to us all. We will share your kind comments with all the team here so they know how much you appreciate everything they are doing for her.
After reading previous good reviews, my mother-in-law was a resident at The Laurels for 6 weeks and we moved her as soon as we were able to. Whilst these comments do not apply to all staff, we observed that residents were not treated with dignity or respect. This is meant to be a specialist dementia home. I would suggest that some retraining is needed. Standards of cleanliness were poor. Also, cake was handed by hand into the resident's hands, with no plate, and no hygiene. My mother-in-law needed assistance with eating and drinking. From our observations, this did not happen. Staff stood around flicking through their mobile phones. From our experience, I really would not recommend The Laurels.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Laurels & Pine Lodge. Your feedback is very important to help us continue building on and improving our services. However, we are sorry your experience has not been a positive one on this occasion. As you will see from the other reviews on...
Excellent service all round.
Thank you for your fantastic review of The Laurels & Pine Lodge. It is our pleasure to have you and your daughter as part of our lovely Laurels family.
My Mum was a resident, initially at The Laurels, before moving into Pine Lodge as her dementia advanced. She was a resident there for many years. For me, the level of humanity and compassion within a home is by far the most important feature. The Laurels and Pine Lodge demonstrate this in abundance. The staff are incredibly loving and committed people for whom the work is evidently a vocation and not just a job. As a relative of a resident, it was so comforting to know that Mum was constantly surrounded by people who genuinely cared, with her welfare and happiness at the forefront of their minds. I never ceased to be amazed by the pure kindness displayed by the staff. There are homes that may be superficially more shiny and new but, if like me, you believe it's the level of care that really counts, I can't recommend The Laurels and Pine Lodge enough.
Thank you so much for your very kind words about The Laurels & Pine Lodge. It was our pleasure to look after your Mum, giving her love and support throughout her time with us. We will share your wonderful comments with all our committed, dedicated care team.

Meet the Team (2)

As Home Manager at The Laurels and Pine Lodge Residential Home, I am proud of the journey I have taken, and I feel deeply privileged to work with such a dedicated team and wonderful residents.
I began my career here as a carer and over the years, through determination and a passion for the care industry, I was fortunate enough to progress through the roles from Senior Carer all the way to Home Manager.
I love what I do and feel privileged to make a difference in our residents' lives. Person-centred care is central to my approach, ensuring every resident is treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. It's not just about providing care; it's about building meaningful relationships and ensuring that each resident feels like a valued part of our family here at The Laurels and Pine Lodge.
I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals and to continue providing the highest standard of care for our residents. Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and make a positive impact, which makes this job so special to me.

I have worked at The Laurels and Pine Lodge for ten years now, starting my career with Hartford Care back in 2013 as a Care Assistant, becoming a Senior Care Assistant in 2017 and now being promoted to Deputy Manager.
I love working here, we have a fabulous, supportive team at The Laurels and Pine Lodge, and I love being able to give the residents and their families the best care possible and uphold the company values of care, comfort and companionship.
