Grove Hill Care Home

My mother-in-law has been in this care home for 17 months. Throughout that time I have been very happy with the care offered to her and the welcome that I and her family receive whenever we visit. My mother-in-law has speech difficulties but the staff usually can understand what she is wanting and her needs. She is content in her placement. There has been a recent change in the ownership of the home. The change has been no problem for residents and promises to result in improvements to the tired decor.

My dear mum spent the last three years of her life feeling loved, happy, safe, secure and above all treated as an individual with respect and dignity. She was enabled to live a good life during her time at Grove Hill and equally, she was allowed a good death also. We were both treated as 'part of the family'. Thank you to you all.

When it became apparent that the time had arrived for us as LPS's together with another friend to find full time, permanent care for our friend we realised that this would not be easy as she is a complex character with some challenging behavioural traits. A home was found but this proved modest at best and her condition deteriorated considerably. A move was vital and she moved to Grove Hill. It soon became apparent that it was not just a care home but a home that cared. She settled quickly, her condition improved markedly, both physically and mentally. Her special needs were being met whenever possible. The care is constant and any issues are dealt with quickly and effectively, both social and medical. We are kept informed of her progress regularly. Her day time is spent in the main lounge, which she enjoys and takes part in the activities. Her own room is cosy, warm and filled with reminders of the past.

Although she spends most of her day in the communal rooms, her bedroom is a warm, inviting space with all her goods and treasures around her. Her belongings are looked after and secure. The activities, which are first-rate, she likes to participate in at her own pace. The medical care is very good and the local surgery much involved. I am extremely impressed with all aspects of her life there.

I have been here as a resident since March 2017 and am very happy here in every aspect of my life. The manager and his wife, together with the staff, are excellent.

I am very happy here, I lived with my husband when he moved in 2014 and joined him in 2015. The staff are very good and they are very caring and I cannot ask for anything more.

Outstanding home. Wonderful, welcoming and friendly. Warm staff who genuinely care and treat residents like family.

Very pleasant atmosphere and the lounge is always lively with plenty going on.

Mum was a resident at Grove Hill since December 2015. I was very impressed with the service provided and the attitude of the staff and management right from the start. There is always a happy atmosphere in the place and many activities are always going on to keep the residents engaged. The staff are amazing and really engage with the residents. Mum spent a very happy last 2 years at Grove Hill and I can't thank them enough for what they have done for her. I would recommend Grove Hill to anyone without exception.

Tremendous care was given to my late father over the course of 5 years, which guided us to make the decision to place my late stepfather in the care of Grove Hill. Over the years of care for these two people our family had one hundred percent trust in the care they were given.

Staff, management and cleanliness of the home was everything a family could ask for.

I feel that all the staff are excellent. The home is very good. My husband who was a resident of the home was looked after very well. Now that he is no longer with us, I continue to visit the residents of Grove Hill as they are now my friends and everybody is very welcoming.

As a regular visitor, I am pleased to share my experience of this small family run care home. The management and staff create a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The moment you step in, you are surrounded by love and caring, which radiates to residents and visitors alike. The dignity and respect that the staff show to all is just amazing and cannot be faulted. Attention to detail is good and always with a smile. Mealtimes are important and it's lovely to see residents and sometimes visitors sitting together and enjoying the lovely food. Many activities are on offer - too many to mention and visitors and relatives are all welcome to join in. My thanks to all the staff for working so hard!

Another year has passed and the staff at Grove Hill have gone from strength to strength. The dedication of care shown to my mother is just first class. The Manager and his team are 100% dedicated to the residents and their families. My mother and I are so proud to be connected to Grove Hill as it holds a lot of memories for us both, with my mother working for the Manager as a carer and now that the home is caring for my Mother in her later years.

Since my dad has been at Grove Hill care home he has been very happy. I feel very secure knowing he is being so well cared for. As he has dementia it is very important as a family to know he is safe. The staff are always polite and very friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

This is the second placement for my mother and I truly believe she would not be here today if James had not taken her under his wing and given her the personally centred care she deserves.I work in care I know the difference when they are just going through the motion of care but this team actually want to make a BIG difference in their lives. I could not have wished for a better care home for my brother. All the management and staff gave him their time, consideration and care that he needed in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Throughout his time there and at the end, he was treated with great respect and dignity. I couldn't have asked for more.

The care is excellent, staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble and facilities are excellent. The home is also very clean and you are made very welcome.

The care home was very busy but staff were very friendly and welcoming. The residents are treated with respect and given as much help as they need. It's like a little community.
