I have lived at the Manor House for over a year and a half and I am really happy here. The improvements of the home over the last few months have been great and we are all happy. We have new activities in the home and it's a happy place to live.

Along with my sisters I led the search for a suitable home for my Mom over a 2 month period in and around the B74 area. I was beginning to run out of hope after being bombarded with jargon, reasons why I could not find what I was looking for, told that I would have to pay fortunes on top of statutory
payments if I wanted to achieve any where near what I was looking for, on top of hope running out so was time as Mom was in a NHS bed in another home so I was under pressure from all sides. I went to see 20 plus homes of varying degrees but if I had gone to this one first then I would not have needed to go to another, so if this is the rough location you are looking for then go here first. Firstly it is a purpose built building rather than a converted [and usually extended] Victorian House. The staff are highly trained not just in looking after the residents, that's obvious, but also looking after Mom or Dads family who have been tasked with making them happy at a more than value for money price. I took the view that if they look after Mom like they looked after me then I wanted her to live there. Firstly someone came out to assess my Mom even though paperwork etc was not complete and treated Mom as if she was her own, then I met with the manager who explained everything I needed to know in plain language, kept me fully informed on where we were at all stages, kept the room open whilst I struggled to make a decision, then someone else got involved who handled the money side of things to tailor a package and then to top it off they all came together stating that they wanted Mom in there and would do all they could to make it happen ,and they did. If you are in the middle of the same search I know how difficult it is to understand the process, find somewhere that is often the last place Mom or Dad will sleep, and find somewhere that will make them happy. One month in I am thinking of reserving a room there for me for 20 years time, call me if you would like more detail.

l would like to thank the manager and all the staff at the Manor House for all their hard work and help last week with the transfer from one flat to another for my daughter. A member of staff painted all the lounge for her and did a wonderful job, also helped me and my brother to move all the furniture
downstairs, her move went well, thank you all again,
Also we now have a new manager at the Manor House and l must say that he listens to all your comments, changes are being made but you can see how the residents are enjoying there time at the Manor House it so relaxed when you walk in and nothing to much trouble and there's a lovely atmosphere.
