I am quite pleased with the way my sister is cared for, she can be very awkward but the staff are caring and humour her very well. Whenever I visit I am made welcome and the premises are always clean and tidy. I am kept well informed of all situations.

As soon as we entered the Manor House we were impressed. We had been looking for a home for our mother (who has vascular dementia) for some months and this home stood out. It is bright, clean and has a calming atmosphere. The residents appear happy and contented. The staff are very helpful and obviously well liked by the residents. The management team couldn't have done more to help our mother settle in and they involved us at a time that was difficult for us.

General experience has been very positive. My mother, aged 98, has grown to accept and generally enjoy life at Manor House. Carers are respectful and committed staff, at times, appear under greater pressure now than 12 months ago but that could be due to illness (absenteeism) or even just a perception that is not a true reflection. Staff are excellent overall and, importantly, do not speak to my mother (an intelligent woman) in a disrespectful way. My only main concern is the freedom that the owners possess to increase fees at will. Some 8% in 2015, some 5% this year, which will very soon render my mother's residence impossible to fund. This is my greatest concern.

The care and attention given to my mother has been outstanding. The management and staff are excellent and really made my mother feel at home when she went into their care. They gave us all the help we needed in order to move my mother. It was nice to see my mother interacting with other residents, but still having some independence and also an excellent level of care from the staff. I have no concerns whatsoever of my mother living at The Manor House. I congratulate the on an outstanding home.

I cannot express enough how happy our family are with mum being resident here. I've been in enough of these establishments to recognise the significant difference this establishment provides: residents wearing their own clothes, not just sitting them in front of the TV, interaction between staff and residents; there's always something going on whenever you drop by to visit - which you're able to anytime (other than mealtimes). Mum has made vast improvement in how she looks - she looks better and brighter, her skin is a lot better, the food is lovely and she's eating well and most importantly - she's happy. Even other relatives that have visited have said what a lovely place she's in and we're all content with that.

I'm currently living overseas and mum moved in about a month before I left. I cannot express enough how helpful the manager has being in helping me communicate with mum via email (and hopefully in the future, Skype). I can email the manager regularly and he prints and passes the messages on to mum and in turn he senst a reply to me with a photograph - this is the sort of service, care, consideration and peace of mind families want and although I miss mum desperately, I am completely comfortable with the care mum is receiving.

I find everything excellent for my own needs. The staff all work hard and are dedicated and committed to the residents. Christmas was excellent, much better than previous years, more families got involved too. I enjoy living at Manor House and I would highly recommend the home and staff.

Along with my sisters I led the search for a suitable home for my Mom over a 2 month period in and around the B74 area. I was beginning to run out of hope after being bombarded with jargon, reasons why I could not find what I was looking for, told that I would have to pay fortunes on top of statutory payments if I wanted to achieve any where near what I was looking for, on top of hope running out so was time as Mom was in a NHS bed in another home so I was under pressure from all sides. I went to see 20 plus homes of varying degrees but if I had gone to this one first then I would not have needed to go to another, so if this is the rough location you are looking for then go here first. Firstly it is a purpose built building rather than a converted [and usually extended] Victorian House. The staff are highly trained not just in looking after the residents, that's obvious, but also looking after Mom or Dads family who have been tasked with making them happy at a more than value for money price. I took the view that if they look after Mom like they looked after me then I wanted her to live there. Firstly someone came out to assess my Mom even though paperwork etc was not complete and treated Mom as if she was her own, then I met with the manager who explained everything I needed to know in plain language, kept me fully informed on where we were at all stages, kept the room open whilst I struggled to make a decision, then someone else got involved who handled the money side of things to tailor a package and then to top it off they all came together stating that they wanted Mom in there and would do all they could to make it happen ,and they did. If you are in the middle of the same search I know how difficult it is to understand the process, find somewhere that is often the last place Mom or Dad will sleep, and find somewhere that will make them happy. One month in I am thinking of reserving a room there for me for 20 years time, call me if you would like more detail.

l would like to thank the manager and all the staff at the Manor House for all their hard work and help last week with the transfer from one flat to another for my daughter. A member of staff painted all the lounge for her and did a wonderful job, also helped me and my brother to move all the furniture downstairs, her move went well, thank you all again,

Also we now have a new manager at the Manor House and l must say that he listens to all your comments, changes are being made but you can see how the residents are enjoying there time at the Manor House it so relaxed when you walk in and nothing to much trouble and there's a lovely atmosphere.
