As a regular visitor (about once a week) I have found Austin Rose to be a very good facility. Staff are friendly and helpful and my friend who's staying there is well looked after. Food and room seem very good and he feels he is well looked after as well.
I enjoy my visits and speak to the staff and
have a good rapport with them.

I would like to say what a lovely home Austin Rose Care Home is. Everywhere is beautifully decorated, spotless and feels calm and relaxed. All the staff were very polite and friendly. I stayed several hours and I came away knowing my sister-in-law was being cared for by lovely, caring people. Thank
you to everyone for the hard work you do for the residents and their families.

My dad moved into Austin Rose Care Home in March 2023. He moved from a care home to be closer to us.
What a great move. Dad loves it here. He loves every member of staff and they love him. Everything is 1st class.
Dad fell and broke his hip last October and after spending 3 weeks in hospital he
returned to Austin Rose a shadow of his former self, however, everyone has actively encouraged him in his recovery. He is now nearly back to full health. All thanks to the amazing staff.
We have regular family meetings where we can iron out any issues but in all honesty, there is never anything to cause any concern at all.
If you are looking for a wonderful place for your loved ones to live then look no further. Austin Rose is the place for you.
We always leave with a warm feeling knowing how well every member of staff cares for my dad.
Thank you.

I couldn't fault this care home from the minute we went to view it prior to Dad moving in. We were impressed with the decor, cleanliness and facilities. The staff were friendly and the receptionist who showed us around was very informative. Unfortunately, Dad was only a resident for a few days before
he sadly passed away. The care and compassion he received were second to none. If anyone is looking for a care home for a loved one we would definitely recommend Austin Rose.

My aunt for whom I am also Power Of Attorney has been at Austin Rose since October 2023. She has received exceptional care from the moment she arrived. The staff are all so attentive, right down to the manager and reception/office staff who are all welcoming and chatty at all times. Nothing is too much
trouble and we are actively encouraged to let the staff know any changes, wants/dislikes that we want or need for our aunt so they can implement them to make her more happy and more comfortable.
Highly recommend it if you are looking for the best care for your loved ones.

My uncle has been a permanent resident on the dementia floor since June 29. He has been treated with exceptional care, support and dignity from all the staff. He really enjoys the activities that are held weekly.
As I do not live locally, it is such peace of mind to know that he is very well looked
after and safe.
Austin Rose is a nursing home I would highly recommend.

My mom moved into Austin Rose Care Home 3 months ago and I can not praise the home highly enough. From the moment Mom got there everyone has just been amazing.
Smiles and warmth greet you from the moment you step in. The decor and environment is beautiful, light and airy.

As a family, we were

so worried and anxious about moving Mom to a nursing home but I have to say from day one mom has been treated with dignity and respect. Every member of the team has shown mom compassion, understanding and genuine care. I cannot fault them.

Mom's needs are complex and they have dealt with all her needs with professionalism and skill. Every change I have been informed and consulted on. It is such a relief knowing Mom is in amazing hands.

The whole team work so, so hard. I am so grateful to every one of them. Their smiles, warmth and care make all the difference and we couldn't wish for a better place for mom to be. She is happy and content and that make us as a family so happy.

I have visited Austin Rose on a small number of occasions to see friends. Earlier visits have been upstairs but today and last week, I have been visiting a friend on the ground floor. The ground floor atmosphere seems more relaxed and quiet - a lovely background for those who are not well. The rooms
are beautiful and spacious and the staff seem very attentive and helpful.

When my husband first arrived at Austin Rose Care Home on 6 March 2023 I was so impressed that I wrote a glowing review about the wonderful facilities and staff at this care home.
Sadly on 25 June this year, my husband sadly passed away. In the 15 weeks that he was at Austin Rose he was treated with
great dignity and so much love from everyone that he came into contact with. The nursing staff were wonderful to me, keeping me informed about all aspects of his care, his medication - nothing was too much trouble.
In his last days, all the staff not only cared for him, but were a wonderful support to me and my son and daughter, happy to put their arms around us to give us comfort. They were just like an extended family! I cannot praise them highly enough! If you are thinking about selecting Austin Rose for your loved one - don’t hesitate for a moment. They are all superheroes!

Although my brother was born in Birmingham, he moved to live in Bromsgrove when he married, so when his medical condition and behaviour problems became difficult for his sisters to deal with we had to look for a care home. At the time no home in the Birmingham area would accept him so we chose a home
in Barnt Green. It was dreadful! and I cannot believe that he now has a place at Austin Rose. This care home is wonderful and after going to the concert yesterday, excellent.

My mom was cared for from December to February and we could not have been happier. All of the staff are so friendly and kind, nothing is too much trouble. Always smiley faces and light conversation with every interaction, from the tea round to dinner, to personal care. They all go out of their way to
make you feel welcome and comfortable. My mum was bed bound for most of her stay, but she was never left out of any activity she wanted to be a part of, if possible they would make it happen, even providing a special wedding anniversary lunch so they could be together. Thank you for looking after my mom so well, and for myself and the family.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.834)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.834) out of 10 for Austin Rose Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.834 for Austin Rose Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (404 Excellents x 5) + (48 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 463 Ratings = 4.834
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Austin Rose Care Home is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I always pride myself on being hardworking and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn new skills and adopt new ideas and enjoy working alongside my team to deliver quality services for residents to maintain their wellbeing.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and exploring the outdoors. I love holistic therapies and self-care, and I adopt this approach in care delivery to our residents. I love massages, retail therapy, listening to music and socialising with others. I am very creative and enjoy ensuring that environments have a touch of glamour.

I have been working at Austin Rose for six years now, and it has been a wonderful journey thus far. We typically engage in two activities per day, which may include playing Bingo, hosting singers, crafting, organizing cinema nights, and celebrating national holidays. Austin Rose has provided me with all the necessary equipment and decorations to successfully conduct these activities. What I enjoy the most is seeing the smiles on the residents' faces while participating in these activities and witnessing their enthusiasm to engage.
