Mum moved to Austin Rose earlier this year. It's made a huge difference to her quality of life. She is very well cared for both medically and socially and this is visibly apparent.
Austin Rose has a nurse on each floor. This means that Mum has appropriate and timely care when required, which has dramatically
reduced drawn-out hospital admissions. The nursing staff monitor Mum's daily condition and liaise with any concerns.
Mum goes to activities and concerts and has made friends. She feels safe at Austin Rose. There are both seasonal and creative activities and residents are encouraged to attend and participate.
The kindness and consideration shown by both the nursing, caring and administrative staff is outstanding. Staff are polite, helpful and resident-focused. They are very supportive towards families. It's a huge relief to see Mum so well cared for.
The home is spotlessly clean, tidy and well-appointed. A visit is recommended.

My Mother had a terrible experience in hospital and wanted to give up. She needed 24-hour care. The change in her in the last 6 weeks of her life was remarkable. She was showered, had her hair done, and her nails painted, and opticians, and a chiropodist. Although she was in a wheelchair, joined in
and enjoyed some of the activities and had company. She had a lovely room she made her own. With her own personal bits. Lovely meals, she was treated with dignity and care second to none, even though we were made to feel so welcome. It was like leaving an extended family, we'll miss them.

I have never felt so reassured or happy since Dad was welcomed to Austin Rose last January.
Everyone is so kind and caring. They give Dad dignity care and respect. They will laugh along with him and I am always greeted with a warmth whenever I pop through the door.
Dad feels safe. He eats great food
and has the very best care you could ever wish for.
Thank you to all the team at Austin Rose. You are brilliant.

A huge thank you to everyone that looked after my dad in his short time at Austin Rose. He was treated with great dignity and respect. The support, care and compassion shown to us as a family was outstanding.
Myself, my brothers and our family were able to be with Dad 24/7 in his final days. Your staff
looked after us and it was much appreciated.
As my dad would say... "First class!"

I would just like to say a big thank you to all the carers who looked after my dad. I have never witnessed such a lovely load of people who would do anything for you, didn't matter what time of day or night. They didn't just look after our dad they looked after us with food and drinks it was unbelievable.

As my late dad would say, first class everything you would want and need at a terrible time, the full team of carers and nurses were fantastic, not only to my dad but to me and my brother and sister. They all looked after us as well. I cannot rate the service they have provided to us highly enough.
We as a family are so grateful that Dad spent his last 10 days of his life in such a wonderful place as Austin Rose. Many many thanks to all the team.

My dad moved into Austin Rose Care Home in March 2023. He moved from a care home to be closer to us.
What a great move. Dad loves it here. He loves every member of staff and they love him. Everything is 1st class.
Dad fell and broke his hip last October and after spending 3 weeks in hospital he
returned to Austin Rose a shadow of his former self, however, everyone has actively encouraged him in his recovery. He is now nearly back to full health. All thanks to the amazing staff.
We have regular family meetings where we can iron out any issues but in all honesty, there is never anything to cause any concern at all.
If you are looking for a wonderful place for your loved ones to live then look no further. Austin Rose is the place for you.
We always leave with a warm feeling knowing how well every member of staff cares for my dad.
Thank you.

I couldn't fault this care home from the minute we went to view it prior to Dad moving in. We were impressed with the decor, cleanliness and facilities. The staff were friendly and the receptionist who showed us around was very informative. Unfortunately, Dad was only a resident for a few days before
he sadly passed away. The care and compassion he received were second to none. If anyone is looking for a care home for a loved one we would definitely recommend Austin Rose.

My aunt for whom I am also Power Of Attorney has been at Austin Rose since October 2023. She has received exceptional care from the moment she arrived. The staff are all so attentive, right down to the manager and reception/office staff who are all welcoming and chatty at all times. Nothing is too much
trouble and we are actively encouraged to let the staff know any changes, wants/dislikes that we want or need for our aunt so they can implement them to make her more happy and more comfortable.
Highly recommend it if you are looking for the best care for your loved ones.

My mom moved into Austin Rose Care Home 3 months ago and I can not praise the home highly enough. From the moment Mom got there everyone has just been amazing.
Smiles and warmth greet you from the moment you step in. The decor and environment is beautiful, light and airy.

As a family, we were

so worried and anxious about moving Mom to a nursing home but I have to say from day one mom has been treated with dignity and respect. Every member of the team has shown mom compassion, understanding and genuine care. I cannot fault them.

Mom's needs are complex and they have dealt with all her needs with professionalism and skill. Every change I have been informed and consulted on. It is such a relief knowing Mom is in amazing hands.

The whole team work so, so hard. I am so grateful to every one of them. Their smiles, warmth and care make all the difference and we couldn't wish for a better place for mom to be. She is happy and content and that make us as a family so happy.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.831)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.831) out of 10 for Austin Rose Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 44 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.831 for Austin Rose Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (443 Excellents x 5) + (55 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 510 Ratings = 4.831
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Austin Rose Care Home is based on 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 43 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, I’m Mandi, and I’m proud to be the Care Home Manager here at Austin Rose.

With over 10 years of Nursing experience, I am passionate about providing compassionate care to our residents. My goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and respected, and I believe in a person-centred approach, tailoring our care to meet individual needs.

I originally completed my qualification in Adult Nursing in 2008 and have worked in various busy Nursing environments throughout my career. I always pride myself on being hardworking and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn new skills and adopt new ideas and enjoy working alongside my team to deliver quality services for residents to maintain their wellbeing.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and exploring the outdoors. I love holistic therapies and self-care, and I adopt this approach in care delivery to our residents. I love massages, retail therapy, listening to music and socialising with others. I am very creative and enjoy ensuring that environments have a touch of glamour.

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator Joined: 2019

I have been working at Austin Rose for six years now, and it has been a wonderful journey thus far. We typically engage in two activities per day, which may include playing Bingo, hosting singers, crafting, organizing cinema nights, and celebrating national holidays. Austin Rose has provided me with all the necessary equipment and decorations to successfully conduct these activities. What I enjoy the most is seeing the smiles on the residents' faces while participating in these activities and witnessing their enthusiasm to engage.
