My mom only stayed there for three days and by the third, she was at end of life. They did not read the care plan that the hospital had put in place for her which they admitted to. My mom drank the smallest amount of fluids in the three days instead of the amount the hospital stated in the care plan. They knew mom was prone to UTI's and had had many. They did not check on my mom every half hour as they said they did with every resident. I know this because on the day they called 999 my mom's sat's and blood pressure was extremely low. Her stats on the second day was 73% and they did not send her back to the hospital (red flag). My mom was bed-bound and had dementia. She was in good health until she arrived there. They did not document notes for her so we never found out what happened on that fateful Sunday afternoon. Had a meeting with them and no answers to our findings. Reported to CQC. After mom died we had a meeting and the manager couldn't be bothered to attend.

Marvellously friendly and helpful staff. Generally, a very happy stay only let down by the main meals - the chef seemed to be emptying the whole spice rack into the food and the meat was usually dried out and difficult to swallow. That, however, is my sole criticism.

How is it possible that there are currently 20 residents have tested positive for Covid 19. Why are staff still not wearing masks in their day to day roles? Why are you allowing staff who have not been vaccinated to attend to the needs of residents?

My mother has been here for just under 18 months, and we were uncertain about moving her to a care home but had no choice. We really feel we chose one of the best. Our main concern was that she would be well looked after by the staff, and that is certainly the case, all the staff we have encountered have been caring and thoughtful. Although mum would prefer to be in her own home, she knows she can't, and this is a very good alternative. COVID restrictions have been difficult, but the staff have done really well to keep the residents entertained and have kept in touch with us. Not sure mum is keen on the food, but she eats it.

My Mum was taken to care in Austin Rose 2nd floor for nearly 3 years. The care given was amazing, the staff and nursing staff could not do enough for Mum. Knowing she was cared for in the manner she was for me as her daughter was priceless. In fact with Mum's medical history, without the care provided she would not have lived as long as she did. My heartfelt thanks go to the staff for the love and care they provided to Mum. Even at the end of her life, the support they provided to her family was wonderful.

My mother has been a resident at Austin Rose for nearly 18-months. During that time, her health and wellbeing have become more stable due to the complete care and attention they afford her. The staff are completely excellent and treat residents with love, care and understanding - almost as if they were family. I feel relaxed now about my mother, as I know she couldn't be looked after any better.

During Covid-19, reception and ground floor staff, have done their best to ensure I can stay in contact with my Aunt, by, passing my messages on, she has known I am trying to contact her on her mobile phone. They have also helped her receive my calls or engaged in a conversation with me to assure me of her well being.

My Aunt has constantly said pre covid, and during, just how caring and wonderful all the staff have been. It has been a hard time, but the staff have proved to be caring, informative and professional. Many, many thanks.

My father has spent the last few months of his life in comfort being cared for and loved by the most amazing team. Everything is geared up to make the resident feel valued, always treated with dignity but almost like a member of the carers own family. I feel so lucky my dad spent his time on 1st floor at Austin Rose.

In addition, the kindness given to myself and my family was really touching. Thank you so much all the team on the 1st floor. "You're the best."

My Mother moved into Austin Rose Care Home 16 months ago with multiple health issues which deteriorated over her stay. I and my family found the quality care and support she received excellent. The entertainment was varied and excellent thanks to the hard work of the activities lady providing a full programme weekly. Staff always greeted me with a welcome smile and nothing was too much trouble for them to make my mother comfortable during her stay.

I have nothing but praise to all the staff who provided excellent care, support and kindness shown towards my mother, myself and my family in her final weeks with us.

Mum has been living at Austin Rose for over a year now and my family and I have been very impressed with the quality of care and support she has received. The staff are always pleasant and willing to help whether they work in the front line care team or in the support teams. Entertainment is varied and interesting and the care and consideration from nurses and carers in dealing with Mum’s multiple health issues is wonderful.
The food is good and varied; thank-you to the catering staff for providing the excellent food for Mum’s birthday celebrations in August and to the entertainments co-ordinator for organising her party.

You all do a great job. Well done.
