What a difference a good care home can make and Coldwells House must be one of, if not the best!
From the moment you walk in and are greeted by a cheerful staff member (or one of the other welcoming receptionists) to the unconditional care, the cleanliness, the comfortable rooms, the ambience and
the wonderful food.
And then there's the Bistro, tea, coffee and cake at any time of the day (and probably night).
Although my dad doesn't have the capacity to realise quite where he is, I know how happy and content he is at Coldwells and for that I thank you all.

The staff are very caring a polite the home is very friendly. Friendly and professional and they seem to run the place very well. I am very pleased with her attitude to the patients and always welcome in when I visit.

I am enjoying regular residents families meetings which help so much to keep us informed and feel part of the Coldwells House family. This has led to meeting and supporting others outside of the home, who have spouses in care which has its unique issues and feelings.

I do feel that my mum is very happy (if that's possible) at Coldwells. I can see that the care she receives is excellent, the staff are all very caring and friendly. The reception staff are absolutely excellent and very efficient. They cannot be faulted in any way and are a joy to support to.

in all, I'm very happy with the service my mum receives, so thank you Coldwells.

Lovely location in expansive, well-maintained grounds. New wing excellent. Overall, very pleased with my experience as a relative visiting a loved one at Coldwells House. Parking often challenging due to size of car park, access lanes shocking condition. So grateful for the level of care and support
provided to my father who visited Mum most days for the year Mum was resident. Support was over and above with staff not only providing Dad with a cooked lunch but befriending him, providing support as Dad was missing Mum hugely. Policy of allowing us to personalise Mum's room much appreciated.

Coldwells House is always bright and very welcoming to visitors, my mum loves sitting in the many areas with tall windows looking out onto the gardens. She also likes to sit in the cafe with the bright orange chairs, coffee machine and lovely cake and biscuits.
It's great to see all the activities
on the online page, her grandchildren love to see if they can spot her!
The food looks very good and it's nice that they have hot chocolate in the evening and a snack.

Since my aunt has been not too good. The care she has been given is wonderful and very caring and staff and managers are always happy giving updates on anything we are concerned about.

So refreshing having the enthusiasm of youth and entertainment committee. So many quiet places to rest and consider your next move.
This is now my home for a long time I hope.

What made Coldwells for me was always the staff, always professional, always polite and above all caring. The home always felt right, always clean and above all friendly. It felt as close to a home as a care home could. Even in Mum's final days, I was touched by the love and respect. One could not ask
for more for a loved one.

A wonderful home from home at Coldwells House. The staff work very hard and make time to get a smile or a wave as they pass a resident's room. Time to feed resident who doesn't want to eat or drink, talk to them and try again and again and later try again. Resident's are treated like family, with love
and care.

My mother has been a resident at Coldwells House for nearly four years and has just celebrated her 99th birthday - this year, my mother has had a few more health issues, and each issue has been dealt with very efficiently by the staff and doctor - after discussions with the clinical lead, it was a great
relief to know that Mum could stay and be cared for at Coldwells House. The support and reassurance given to myself and my family by the staff have been very comforting. My mother's care plan has been reviewed and revised to meet her increased needs. Whenever I have needed to seek advice, the staff have always been available and ready to listen and give support. My family and I are so grateful that our mother is so very well cared for, comfortable and safe at all times. Coldwells staff are all friendly and give such high levels of support in a respectful and dignified way.

Mum has been a resident for 8 months. Whilst it was a difficult decision to make, we feel lucky to have found a place where she is safe, stimulated and looked after with specialist care.
The setting is lovely with beautiful, very well-looked-after gardens and this increases the quality of life.
Meals
are balanced and nutritious. There are a whole range of activities on offer and the occasional trip out. A hairdresser also visits, it is lovely that residents have this opportunity to look their best.
Mum's medical needs are met and the staff is quick to act if changes occur.
Family and friends are able to visit whenever we wish and we really appreciate this. It shows the caring and open environment established at Coldwells House. I always get a friendly welcome from everyone, offered a drink, and sometimes join in with the activities!
Staff retention is also good which I think helps with continuity, and establishing relationships and suggests it is a positive place to work.

Mum receives excellent care from all the staff and I am always promptly informed of any issues regarding her well-being. She feels safe and is most appreciative of the visits from the district nurses. The meals are very good and enjoyable. Thank you, Coldwell House.

My wife has been at Coldwells House for a few years now and I feel the care she is receiving is second to none. When my daughter and I visit we are made very welcome as well. As for the management we find the door is always open.

My mother has been at Coldwells House for over 3 years now and has received the highest standards of care and has been treated with respect and dignity at all times. Dad is happy and content in his home at Coldwells House. He enjoys being able to wander around the house if he wants, he isn't one for joining activities, but he does like to people-watch! He often comments that he enjoys his meals and that the staff are very good. He has had a few health issues and
staff have kept us informed each time. We are more than pleased with the excellent care that Dad receives. We appreciate that he is well looked after, safe and happy. All the staff are brilliant and a special mention to the manager and deputy who have been so helpful. Coldwells certainly deserves the rating outstanding. When looking for a care home for Dad we used the criteria could we live here if we needed care? and the answer was yes. We are so pleased that we made the right choice.

Generally favourable, although getting an answer to ringing the entry bell on arrival and departure can take an annoyingly long time.
Otherwise, my mother is well cared for and happy at the home, which is our priority.

My husband had Young Onset Alzheimers and was a resident at Coldwells House for the last year of his life.
As his care needs increased, the team at Coldwells were proactive in reviewing and adapting his care plan in consultation with me. The staff always took my views into account.
They supported
me to consider and set out the priorities for his end-of-life care in advance, to ensure his best interests were met and his wishes followed - which they all were.
My husband had formed a fantastic bond with the staff at Coldwells and it was very important to me that he was able to remain at Coldwells for the duration and be cared for by people who he knew, and who knew him well.
Their skills and experience in end-of-life care and the care and compassion they showed to my husband, myself and our family were greatly appreciated by us all, during a very difficult time.
We would not hesitate to recommend Coldwells.
