Coldwells House have been brilliant at keeping mum safe during Covid. Communication throughout has not been great but once the Facebook page was up and running again we felt more connected. Very expensive for what mum needs. Small room and cramped, but she is happy and well cared for and the staff are

Very recently we had a care plan review for Mum. After the restrictions due to Covid, we felt it important to catch up on Mum’s progress. They were only too pleased to arrange this on Zoom and we had more than an hour where all of our questions were answered. We were all reassured about Mum’s care.
Despite not being able to visit they have very tight procedures to keep residents safe and active. We explained our concerns (we don’t know what activities mum does as she can’t communicate well anymore) and we have a plan moving forward to help us with this. I couldn’t be happier about mum’s care. She is a member of the Coldwells House family and is very well looked after. She always looks happy and I love her new haircut!

My 94-year-old father moved to Coldwells in October and has settled in remarkably well. The staff have been absolutely wonderful; in this extreme time. I have nothing but praise for their care and consideration. I am so glad we chose Coldwells.

My husband has been at Coldwells House since January 2020. He has been very happy. The care of the staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic closed the place down but I have been very happy with the communication at all times. We can now visit again and visits are well organised and hopefully,
these will become more regular. Well done to everyone at Coldwells House, it must be so difficult at these strange times.

My mother-in-law has been in the care home now for 6 years. I couldn't have asked for better care. Due to Covid-19, they have kept her safe and well, they have kept us informed about when I can visit and also put pictures of her on Facebook, so it gives me the chance to see her. They also put what activities
they are doing for the month. The staff all work hard to keep them safe, also it gives us peace of mind.

I am most impressed as to how Coldwells have responded to the Covid-19 crisis. They took the early precaution of obtaining PPE in March and instigated every precaution to eliminate contagion in the home. They used Skype when visitors were not allowed and to date have been Covid free. I feel they do
their best for the residents and their job is not always easy.

My mother has been in Coldwells now for over 2 years with dementia. Throughout this period, I have always felt that she is well cared for and her changing needs met. There are some exceptional staff working there, who show real patience and kindness. For this, I am incredibly grateful. The home is always
clean with welcoming rooms and facilities. There are lots of activities organised for residents. Any issues arising are generally resolved early.

Throughout my mother's last years spent at Coldwells, she was always treated with loving kindness and dignity. This is not an easy task when rapid dementia takes a person. The senior staff gently guided us during calm, kind meetings to discuss final care details and always helped us to keep in touch
with mum even during COVID-19. Simply, thank you.

I have been consistently impressed with Coldwells House since we made an initial enquiry on my mother's behalf in June 2017. There is a bright and cheerful atmosphere and residents are made to feel at home as individuals. The staff are professional and are clearly dedicated and caring people. They will
always find the time to address any concerns from a resident or relatives. At a time of medical crisis for my mother, we felt strongly supported, both practically and emotionally. It has to be mentioned that Coldwells have been outstanding in dealing with the Covid-19 crisis, which has resulted in zero cases of the disease to date. They have been extremely well prepared, with early policy decisions and are now more vigilant with precautions as government guidelines begin to relax. Meanwhile, their thoughtful provision of contact via Skype has meant so much to residents and their relatives.

During May 2020 the care home didn't receive visitors or entertainment of any sort. The situation regarding the virus was dealt with extremely efficiently and introduced a week or so before lockdown was declared. Management ensured all the necessary PPI was purchased in good time. Without entertainment
people being bought in, the staff stepped in, did their best to ensure residents were entertained and happy. Our friend's wound was dealt with by the district nurses and when healed the care home nurses continued to look after it successfully.
During lockdown we have spoken to our friend daily by phone and it's never too much trouble for the staff to locate despite their workload.
She is well looked after and treated with love and respect. Management and staff have done extremely well in the present circumstances..

Our mother spent nearly four years at Coldwells. During that time her care was excellent. We were always welcome and felt part of the Coldwells family.
The way staff communicate with residents and family members is exemplary. We would recommend this care home one hundred per cent. Thank you.

My wife has been a resident since September 2011. During her time in the care home, she has been extremely well looked after by very caring staff.
Eg. recently we celebrated our diamond wedding. I couldn't visit owing to the virus, however, I received a picture on my computer showing a carer reading
a card to my wife. This illustrates the degree of care given by the home. Well done to them all.

I spent a lot of time researching care homes and read an awful lot of reports CQC findings before deciding on mum moving to Coldwells House. It was a good decision. Mum felt very safe and calm there. My siblings and I are positive mum lived several years longer than she might have done as their professional
compassionate caring skilful approach meant she had a good quality of life right up to her passing. We felt very confident that they very much wanted the best in all scenarios for mum.

Coldwells House is a caring home. Residents are well cared for. The staff are well trained and genuinely care about the residents. Usually, there are lots of different activities with dedicated staff to deliver these. The home and rooms are clean. There are some great chefs producing lovely tempting
meals. The home went into lockdown earlier than nationally and staff are very dedicated at this time and family can book Skype sessions. Really recommend Coldwells.

Mum has spent the last three years at Coldwells House. We spent some time deciding on the care home which we felt would suit Mum best and her time at Coldwells House has more than reinforced our decision. It is not easy to move from one’s home into a care home but Mum was trusting of the decisions we
made with her and often referred to the “good thing” we did finding Coldwells House.
Mum has been very contented at Coldwells House and has received good care from the staff. She enjoyed the food provided and the varied entertainment. She is now nearing the end of her life and her care at this time with its changed needs has been handled very competently and compassionately.
We have always found the staff at Coldwells House friendly and helpful. We like the straightforward way in which we have been engaged by management and care staff and the way in which we have been kept informed, particularly as Mum has moved into this final stage.
