Over all time Dulas Court has 96 reviews.
He can be quite challenging although all of the staff are so caring and attentive and go to great lengths to help and reassure him, whilst the management team has been in regular dialogue with both myself and my brother to ensure that we are kept abreast of any changes in his circumstances.
All of the staff that I have encountered on my regular visits from management to gardeners have been excellent of which I note there is very little change and can only add to the sense of community that Dulas Court delivers.
Review largely based on knowledge and reputation, backed up now by some personal experience: delivering and collecting mum into 2 weeks' respite care with a number of phone calls in-between. On arrival the staff were incredibly welcoming - not just tea and coffee but a range of people coming to the room to informally say hello whilst we set up. Mum (94) loved all this and it must have gone a long way to dissipating her fears. They had already rearranged the room following an earlier suggestion to mirror the set-up in her home to minimise disorientation. When I collected her she was bright and content and I was impressed and moved by the genuine bond she had formed with some of the care staff in the 2 weeks - not just a goodbye hug, but a kiss. Mum has early Alzheimers and during the in-stay calls, she seemed natural and content for almost all of the time, impressive as this is obviously a difficult time in her life. I think Dulas did a brilliant job in challenging circumstances.
It was an absolute pleasure to have your mum staying with us. Thank you so much for your kind review, we aim to make all our residents whether permanent or on respite feel welcome and part of our Dulas Court family.
I stayed for one week "respite" with a view to returning with my wife in the near future. Very impressed by the building and gardens, the standard of care and catering, the professional and personal approach of all the staff, and also the freedom to make my own choice of what to do and when. Overall, felt very relaxed and stimulated by contact with staff, other residents and the activities on offer. As to "facilities", would welcome one or two more "quiet corners in the public areas - and the library could do with a revamp" (something with which my wife and I, ex-bookshop owners, will be happy to help on our next visit!).
It was an absolute pleasure to have you stay with us for respite. All the staff have missed you and are looking forward to seeing you today when you return for another stay with your wife. I hope she enjoys her week as much as you did.
I am very happy with the care at Dulas Court Care Home, it allows to me relax knowing that my stepdad will be well cared for 24 hours a day. All the staff are kind and caring and the management ensure that everything is well run.
Thank you for your review. It is a pleasure to have your stepfather here.
In the time my grandma was in the care of the workers at Dulas Court, she spent a lot of time doing activities and being cared for very well. She was not an easy client by any means but Dulas Court workers did a great job and really genuinely cared for her. Dulas Court is beautiful, aesthetically as well as the beautiful souls that work there. I would highly recommend Dulas Court, especially for clients declining with memory issues.
Thank you so much for this review. It means so much to know the families of the residents at Dulas Court, and those deceased, feel their loved one is genuinely cared for by us. Each and every resident is treated as we would our own family member, with love, dignity and respect.
My mother was at Dulas Court for nearly four years. That was all through the pandemic and very difficult times. The care she received was excellent in every way. The staff, every one of them, were engaging, caring, kind and always go above and beyond. They are the type of people who genuinely care and they treated Mom very well and as an individual. I cannot say enough about how much we love the care they gave her through thick and thin. As a family, we were so very happy and reassured she was in good hands.
Thank you for this review, it means so much to us to know that you as a family feel her care was excellent in every way. We miss her, she was so much part of this home always around bringing joy to the home.
As her essential carer, I worked very closely with the amazing team at Dulas, led by the manager, to support Mum. Dulas is a special place, a real home which welcomes all visitors and families. I recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding residential care.
Thank you so much for this review. It is important to us that all residents feel at home and their families do as well. It was an absolute pleasure to care for your mother.
The Covid-19 restrictions were difficult as they made visiting Mum less easy, but the fact that they were needed was shown by the safety of the residents at that time.
Thank you for this review, it means a lot to get feedback on our service. We will miss you all visiting.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Accommodation is very clean and tidy, in fact spotless. The food was very good with many choices. The grounds were well maintained and a pleasure to walk in with good wheelchair access.
Thank you for your review and kind words. I will share this with the staff, it's good to have feedback from respite care.
This was the first experience of care being provided outside the family home in another residential setting. The care staff and management team at all levels were very welcoming, kind and patient in what was a strange environment, enabling my relative to settle within a few days. Activities and meal times provided social interaction and stimulus which was enjoyed throughout the stay. Mam praised the care and home itself and particularly looked forward to being outside on the grounds surrounding it.
When my mother arrived at Dulas earlier this year she was really unhappy at Dulas and my siblings and I did not think it was going to work. However, we were told to wait for 6 weeks and review how she was then. It was totally the right thing to do, as she is now very happy. The staff are very friendly.
My mother has multiple medical needs coupled with a complex personality which makes caring for her challenging at times. All the staff at Dulas Court have shown remarkable patience, skill, kindness and care in managing her needs. As a family we cannot speak highly enough of the level of commitment and dedication they show.
Thank you for this review. Its an absolute please to look after your mother.
Dulas Court is a caring place where residents are treated as individuals. My children and I, in spite of necessary Covid restrictions, were allowed to visit at all times, especially in her dying days. She could not have been in a better place. The manager and staff became our friends.
They have kept her safe and well and are now freeing up the restrictions on visitors to enable us, her children, to have meaningful contact with her at last. Many thanks to a great team.
During her stay at Dulas Court she seems happy and relaxed and well cared for.
Unfortunately she cannot tell us anything of her stay as she does not remember daily routines anymore.
But we are always impressed with the beautiful setting of this home and the happy friendly staff.
Mum was very hesitant on her first stay at Dulas but she seemed to accept the care and settle well as far as we are aware.
Due to Covid we have not been able to see her room or any of the accommodation but I am sure that will be more accessible in the future.
We are very grateful for the patience and care of the staff and also the knowledge of having a place that we know Mum is happy with and that we can rely on for respite.
A beautiful, peaceful, spacious and well-appointed home for my Mother to pass some weeks. She has been well supported and looked after by the attentive staff and also allowed her freedom to be herself and interact with the other residents. I can't say enough about the quality and efficiency of the staff, administration and management. They have all been superb. I would recommend this home to anyone as a place where every aspect of care is attended to by highly professional and well-organised people with a positive human touch.
We can't thank you enough for your kind words about our service. Your review means a lot to us and lets us know how we are doing. I will pass your comments on to the team.
I have been seriously impressed by the way in which the home has cared for my mother - and other residents - especially during the pandemic. All residents have been kept safe through sensible measures about admitting new residents which other care homes could have profitably adopted. The home has put on a huge range of activities to keep the residents engaged and been really helpful in enabling visits whenever possible. The normal standards of care - which are always outstanding at Dulas - including food, drink, cleaning and nursing, have been well maintained.
There are lots of activities: gardening, bingo, craft, cooking still happen. Before the Covid lockdown, they also had music and keep fit with external visitors.
The rooms are lovely and residents can bring their own furniture and mementos with them. The handyman is adept at putting pictures on walls.
The grounds are a delight and Mum often goes for a walk.
The staff have adapted brilliantly to Covid; Mum could not be in a better place. I thank them all.
My siblings & I feel our Mother is in the best place she could be for this age & stage of her life & we appreciate the care she is receiving.
Dulas Court has been providing exemplary care for my mother, who has advanced Alzheimer's disease and dementia. They look after her and provide a range of stimulating activities. The food is to a high standard and she is eating well and looks healthy. They have noticed the things that she likes doing and are giving her a chance to do those when she wants to - this is very good for helping her to be content. She is able to go out and enjoy the garden and outdoors. As regards Covid-19, they have done tested and reported back. The staff take necessary precautions. Overall, we have not had any issues.
